    Wedding chapel. 11/11/11

Yeah, I post pictures to Yelp during weddings. I'm that obsessed with Yelp. The date of upload is a day off on all of my reviews. W/e. Anyway, my second cousin Travis was getting married and I NEEDED a reason to get outta Vegas so I bought my plane ticket real quick and flew, sans family, to this shindig. My cousin and his fiance, Taylor, picked the Dominion House for their 11/11/11 wedding. I've been to Guthrie a handful of times, but never in the pitch black of night so finding the place to park was not as easy as, say, probably during the day. It was FREEZING outside so when we had to walk from the ceremony (indoors) through the garden and around the front lawn to get to the reception (indoors, in the same building) I wasn't thrilled. The food, I'm assuming, was probably in house catering and was good. The A/V set up was not good - you couldn't hear any of the speeches or what was going on. If the Dominion House was in charge of the set up/layout of the wedding, which I'm assuming they were as they have wedding packages, they need to make the dance floor, slide show, place where people grab the mic to make a speech near the cake and tables were people sat because either you missed the speeches or you missed the cake cutting because they were on opposite sides of the ballroom. I'm sure this place is pretty in the daylight and I'd give this a better review if the set up here was better. (P.S. the bathrooms are upstairs.) One cool fact, this place used to be a Masonic-run orphanage.

They had several spots to take Instagram worthy shots.

This is definitely one of the best hotels I've visited in a long time. It felt like I was visiting someone for a high tea! The building is beautiful and its perfectly nestled inside Guthrie, Oklahoma. The shrubbery is well maintained and prestine. Its perfect for weddings and getaways. Also, whoever is responsible for the interior decor deserves a round of applause. The customer service was impeccable! We were even treated to a free upgrade and I fell in love with the claw foot bathtub. All my worries melted away on my stay, thank you!

The wife and I stayed the night and could not have been more impressed. Beautiful property, gorgeous room, and friendly staff. we got a room with the tub, which my wife thoroughly enjoyed and the shower was gigantic. In the morning the chef made a personal breakfast for just the two of us that was delicious. Most importantly the cost was very reasonable. I would recommended this place over any local traditional hotel.

I had my October wedding here. While the day before and and after were sunny the actual day was cloudy and rainy. The staff was very helpful in helping me have my dream of an outdoor wedding despite the weather. They even brought the chairs in until right before the ceremony so the guests wouldn't have to sit on wet chairs. We did heavy hor d'oeuvres for our meal and the spread was both delicious and beautiful. Overall, they provided a great venue for a wedding and I would recommend them to anyone.

Like there's a silo (I think that's what it is?) right outside the venue and also train tracks right outside too. It definitely feels like you are in a more or less secluded area, even though it's very much still in Edmond. The ground outside the venue was mostly large gravel up closest to the entrance, and small gravel further away (like where most people ended up parking). It wasn't the most level ground, which made it a bit difficult for those of us in high heels! It also didn't help that it had rained earlier that day, so there were tons of puddles... so many that you could barely avoid stepping in dirty water, not to mention the wetness paired with the gravel paired with tall shoes just made for a slightly wobbly walk inside. Not the worst thing ever, but if I were the venue, I'd definitely consider paving more of the ground outside to counteract this! There is a small deck type thing out of the front. They have stairs and also a ramp up to this deck which leads to the front door entrance. Inside was smaller than I expected it to be, but it definitely fit everyone that came to the wedding and the reception. It has sort of a mix of the cute country vibe and the fancy warehouse vibe thing going on. I believe you could see the bricks inside, and there were also barn doors on the windows just for example. There was a small balcony in the back. From what I could tell the only way to get up to the balcony was by stairs. Then through a hallway in the back they also have bathrooms and a groomsmen room and bridesmaids room. Because the ceremony and reception were both here, we had to all go outside to wait for them to switch from rows of chairs to tables. I'm not sure if the venue itself was in charge of doing this, or some outside third party, but it didn't take too long (maybe 10-15 minutes). Luckily, we had food and a coffee bar to keep us occupied while waiting for this switch.

It was the perfect culmination of passion and opportunity. In 1985, a young, teenage Robin Alvis was rocking in the band, Ibex, performing by night and storing the band's show equipment in his parents' garage by day. Recognizing a business opportunity, Robin also rented out the band's staging and lighting during down time - thus, Toucan Productions was born. As the years rolled on, Robin acquired more equipment, and in turn, began focusing more on putting on killer shows for others and less on his own. Misty Myers joined Toucan in 1991, just as the new decade was taking root. Her entrance into the business was marked with growth. Toucan moved into a more legitimate warehouse space and also added several more full-time team members. Their small business was beginning to explode, so in 2008, Toucan purchased a 50,000 square-foot warehouse near downtown OKC. With 25 full-time employees, a massive inventory, and over 1,000 annual bookings, they are now the largest provider of lighting, staging and sound in Oklahoma and one of the largest in the Southwest.
