Stay far away from this place a straight scam to get you in for a appointment. Once they charge your insurance you never hear from them again. They don't pick up the phone when you call to get your results. They bill you again even when you have coverage. They say you own them money. Smh read more

This place seem nice at first waiting wasn't that long. Doctor was nice checked me gave me referral to get test done. Took about a month and a half to hear back from him with results. He calls my phone unknown number leaves a voicemail saying to call if I have any questions. Still haven't heard my results I kept calling and calling and calling the office to speak to someone it's always a voicemail. Get this the front desk said they would make an appointment for my MRI they never did I ended up making my own appointment. 3 weeks later she said I'm approved for my test so she will make an appointment. I told her I have an appointment already. I'm still in pain and nothing hasn't gotten done yet.I should of check Yelp before going to this place. read more

Im going to make this honest since a magical review after the negatives may seem inaccurate. I'm starting my review before I even enter the office. There was a group of three young girls in front of the office door, they said they don't open until 1:45. (This is when I realized they were office staff. The previous reviews became justifiable at this point. I could see why they would say there was a lot of side chatter during office hours ) I thought that the timing was perfect since my appointment was for 1:45 , wohoo for being the first after lunch. People are always happier. Five minutes after the doctor came and he actually was friendly, he said no worries we will open up now. I was early so I actually didn't mind waiting. We went in and I filled out my paperwork. Five minutes later, the doctor came in the exam room. Side note: There was an employee argument that traveled throughout the office while I was present. Very unprofessional especially since it was an older women scolding a younger coworker. Should have kept that in a closed room. However, I had a great experience and everyone was super friendly to me. The doctor is French and a gem. Also, he smelt divine. He explained everything and the process was not drawn out as stated before. I was in and out in under and hour. Of course I will be returning. read more

My husband saw Dr. Cozien for a neurological assessment. Dr. Cozien was informative, careful and informed. He examined my husband carefully and thoughtfully, assessing numerous neurological issues. He explained all of his thinking, and after some testing, referred my husband to a different specialist. He was polite, the office staff was lovely, the wait was average. We were pleased with Dr. Cozien and have enthusiastily endorsed him to others. read more

I made an appointment to see Dr. Cozien after a referral because of serious migraines. He spoke with me about my headaches, but also seemed intrigued about my orthopedic birth defect. He asked a lot about my hands and did some test on my arms to check my nerves. At the end of the appointment he sent me for an MRI of my brain and said I'd come back for a test to help determine what might be causing my headaches, assuming the MRI came back normal. I got the MRI and then saw him for a follow up appointment last night. After finally being taken into the room, his assistant asked me to remove my rings and shirt, hooked my arm up to this machine and started using this device to initiate painful shocks to my nerves in my arm (I later learned this was an EMG test). I was very uncomfortable and asked why I was even getting this test and what they were checking for. She told me this was the test the doctor ordered and they were checking my nerves. I asked about the MRI results and she said he'd discuss them. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Cozien came into the room, spoke to her in French and then sat down and continued the test and the assistant left. I asked why he was doing this and he said because I have a problem with my other hand and it's his duty as a doctor to protect my "good" hand. I explained that I didn't know what this has to do with my headaches and he said it has nothing to do with them. I told him I don't care about my wrists right now and I'm more concerned about the headaches but he said he's concerned about my hand. He proceeded with the test without giving me much information. He then took a break and told me he'd do the last part shortly after reviewing the MRI results. He told me the MRI had nothing catastrophic, but there were some areas of light or something in my white brain matter which needed to be checked out by blood work, for which he'd give me a prescription and that I have some sinus stuff which could be causing the headaches and for which he wanted me to see you again. I reminded him that I said I'd had a terrible cold and that could be causing it and he said it might. That was the end of the MRI and next steps discussion and then he seemed more focused on finishing the EMG exam. He took out a needle and started inserting it up and down my arm causing more shocks to my nerves and I got more and more uncomfortable. Then he told me to get into the fetal position without even telling me what was going on. I asked what was next and he said he needed to stick me in my neck. I, at that point, totally refused because I was, frankly, a little scared and saw no real reason for any of this testing anyhow. Plus, I had already been his office almost 3 hours waiting. He said okay and that he'd just have to make a note of my refusal and I said fine with me. He then had me get dressed and gave me a prescription for an arm splint for carpal tunnel syndrome and some note for work to get a new keyboard or something. I asked him for a copy of my MRI results and whatever blood work I needed which seemed to have slipped his mind. He wrote me a prescription, gave me copies of the MRI results and told me to get the blood work ASAP and then he doesn't need to see me anymore. I asked about the testing for migraines and he said he just meant the MRI and then gave me some paper telling me foods to avoid and sent me on my way. I was extremely upset by the experience, 1) because I didn't feel like I even understood what could be wrong with my head--he made it sound like the blood work was necessary to rule out some potential problems, but didn't even explain or elaborate, 2) he gave me some test I didn't even ask for or want and was very obscure in sharing why and what, exactly, he was doing to me, and 3) he didn't even seem to care all that much about helping to solve my headaches. Apparently, Dr. Cozien has several arbitration findings against him for performing unnecessary EMGs and billing insurance companies large sums for them. Absent of any true explanation for his actions with me, I can only assume this is a similar scenario. UPDATE: I reported him to my Healthcare provider as providing unnecessary testing and poor patient care and got a finding in my favor after their investigation. read more

I was referred to Dr. Cozien by my primary care physician for verification of another specialist's diagnosis. The examination process was dragged out to inordinate lengths, with multiple external referrals, and multiple office examinations - some painful. Finally, after two months and a dozen or so office visits and exams, he came up with no new pertinent information. Wait times were unusually long (an hour and a half more than once), communications painful, and the staff sometimes helpful, sometimes not. read more

I went to see this doctor and he mad me waiting for an hour and a half. I even asked the woman at the desk that if he's too busy that I can come back another time. She assured me that I was next, even though they took another patient who arrived after me before me. (I hate that!). And after about an hour and five minutes, the nurse took me into a room and told me to remove my shoes and socks before the doctor came in. I could overhear the laughter and palling around going on next door, which just added to my mood even further. So, I'm in the observation room, for 20 MORE MINUTES. AFter that, I just walked out. If you have the patience and time to see this person, go for it! Otherwise, skip it! This man is not God, and there are other neurologists that don't do that to patients. read more

He's absolutely thorough and diligent and extremely intelligent, kind, intuitive and has a wonderful bedside manner. I wholeheartedly recommend him. The doctor presents himself as any other doctor. He leads you to believe he cares and will help you and sadly you fall for it. It's not until there's a real emergency that you realize this. Phone calls were never returned. Good luck if you have to go for a procedure. Him and his staff will give you no direction or prep you - you will have to google it and figure it out yourself. When the procedure goes wrong or you experience negative side effects once again your phone calls will get ignored and you have to google what to do. The secretary with no medical training who called with the doctor yelling instructions in the background is what you get. read more

I have been sick with a range of debilitating neurological issues for over a year-migraines, leg pain, burning sensations on my ears, numbness, tingling, vertigo, difficulty walking, arthritic-like pain in my fingers and toes, etc. Basically, a lot of serious pain for a long time. Dr. Cozien was the 4th neurologist I've seen. The first was dismissive, and refused to do testing. The second yelled at me when I asked him questions about the side effects of the medicine he was prescribing, the third was better, but was not interested in pursuing further testing even though my rheumatologist and primary care doctor requested it. Because I went so long without proper treatment and examination, I only gotten worse over time. Dr. Cozien was the only neurologist that 1. did a thorough and thoughtful consultation 2. performed a full exam 3. provided real care (his bedside manner is wonderful) 4. understood the severity of my condition and took it seriously 5. bothered to explain things to me in clear, accessible language instead of vague and confusing medical jargon. Leaving his office today, I felt confident and hopeful for the first time. His office assistant was also helpful and friendly. I can't recommend Dr. Cozien enough. If you give him a visit, be sure to appreciate what a rarity he is. I should know, I've been to my fair share of doctors! read more

I saw Dr Cozien about 3 years ago after having stabbing, shooting pains going down my arms. Nothing of the kind had ever happened to me before. Turns out that I have literally 17 things wrong with my neck. I didn't enjoy the EMG (the tingling sharp tests for your fingers, in order to see which nerve/nerves are involved.) The test is necessary, as far as I know. Dr Cozien is very, very kind and caring. I've run into him in Brooklyn Heights over the past few years and he always asks how I'm feeling, etc. I'm giving 4 rather than 5 stars only because some of the staff members spoke French in front of people waiting in the office. I understand most French conversations I hear. The staff was not saying anything rude, as far as I could tell, but I do believe that it's impolite to carry on long conversations in another language in front of the waiting patients. Also, the office and waiting room needs an update - not necessarily an overhaul, just sprucing up. Until I got to know Dr Cozien I was worried about the condition of the office. I definitely would see him again if my neck/arm pain started up again. read more

It is hard to believe that anyone would give Dr. Cozien a negative review. This man is one of the kindest and most thorough doctors we have ever had the pleasure of visiting, and he has been most encouraging. Despite declining cognitive function and memory, he has recommended alternative treatments that we should try and has even approved ideas of other practitioners, noting that alternative medicine often gets short shrift where it should not. Indeed, the Wall Street Journal this week carried a long analysis of the benefits found by clinical studies of exercise and brain games to those with declining memory and cognitive function. It took several visits and additional tests for Dr. Cozien to arrive at a diagnosis. These included a CAT scan, an MRI, EEG testing, a sleep study (by another physician) and a neuro-psychological examination. Other, mainstream neurologists would not have approved our pursuit of alternative therapies, much less have ordered the sleep study that diagnosed sleep apnea, a contributing factor to the decline. If you need a neurologist for any reason, you cannot hope to find a more thorough and caring physician than Dr. Cozien. We cannot recommend him highly enough. read more

Just saw Dr. Cozien for the first time today, and everything went really well. I went to him based on the recommendation by my PCP who described him as very thorough, so I went with the expectation of being there for a while, which helped. I went to him because of a recent, sudden migraine (accompanied by slurring speech, dizziness, and balance issues), and since I have no histories of them and the pain was so intense, this was a bit worrisome. I'd been to the ER where they did no tests and told me to see my PCP who referred me to him. I arrived a minute late, unfortunately, due to the trains being halted because of some signal issues, so I don't know how much this affected my wait time there (and the wait time to simply fill out paper work, which is extensive), but I did have to wait quite a while. I arrived at 11:16 and wasn't seen by Dr. Cozien until 12:00. I wasn't even given the intake form until about 11:30, which aggravated me a bit since I have a lot to write and the paperwork was several pages of detailed information. However, I've been to a different neurologist before and expected this level of questioning, so the amount wasn't too unusual. When I did see Dr. Cozien, he was polite, friendly but professional, and very thorough. We covered everything I wanted to discuss and more, and I was really grateful to not be brushed aside or dismissed on the small things that I felt were important, even if it did take a little while to cover. (When you have as many disorders as I do, this is much appreciated since many doctors dismiss them!) He then went on to perform the various tests, made note of the various issues he found and discussed them with me, then carefully explained the next steps we would take to figure out what's going on. He told me what tests we were going to perform (two ncs/emg exams and a brain mri) to see what's going on. He said that we know where we are now, we will test to find out more, and then we will decide from there where we want to go with that information and that we will use this as a record to compare and contrast to later on to monitor my progress. I felt very reassured when he discussed this with me. I looked up the various tests he mentioned when I got home, and I feel that while they don't sound terribly pleasant (some involve needle testing that's been described by one doctor source as being similar to an acupuncture needle being placed inside the muscles at various points), they do seem appropriate given the information we hope to glean. I would much rather have a bit too much testing done that provides information than to be told I don't need to worry about anything and not have any concrete data to see what's up. Also, I've been to doctors before who prescribe treatments and medications that truly are unnecessary, and those experiences were quite different from this one. This one certainly left me feeling more reassured and cared for. A note on the office, since people seem to care about that, is that it's clean and not too cramped, and the front desk has notes around asking people to respect other patients' privacy by not standing too closely while another patient is speaking with the receptionist (I appreciated this!). The receptionist was a bit hot and cold, but she got me all the information I needed and was sure to write down all the information for my upcoming appointments, which I appreciated. All in all, I definitely feel comfortable returning, even with the wait time, because of the level of trust and comfort I felt with him, and I look forward to learning the results of my tests. :] [smiley] read more

Dr. Cozien is very knowledgeable and took the time to listen to my concerns. If you miss a phone call from his office, good luck in trying to contact them when you call back. Mostly likely you'll get long hold times and voice mail. My appt was made thru ZocDoc. However, the office had no clue what time my appt. was and insisted my appt. was at a different time than what I had received confirmation emails for. Then I was rescheduled to another day. Although I filled out forms on ZocDoc, I was asked to submit the same info when I got to the office, which was really annoying. I left home early for my follow up appt. to be sure I was on time, only to have to wait for over an hour to be seen. When I voiced my concerns about having to wait so long, Dr. Cozien said that if I didn't want to wait, I shouldn't come back anymore! Quite rude. His waiting room was full, so that tells me he consistently overbooks patients.I have no plans to return. read more

Dr. Cozien was referred to me by a friend who found him utterly charming. I did too, initially. He talks personally about how he's been mistreated by doctors and would not want to do the same. But my opinion has changed. He referred me to a psychologist for memory testing who gave me an inappropriate battery of tests, and worse, committed malpractice by omitting one section of a test, yet adding up the scores as if the testing were complete, giving me an artificially low score. How do I know this? I'm a psychologist too. This psychologist he referred me to also called me a nasty name, entirely gratuitously. I took the trouble to write Dr. Cozien a letter detailing the malpractice and asked him for a reply. Months later, I never got one. I also have some questions about Dr. Cozien's own practices. He gave me an EMG and said I have a pinched nerve in my left elbow, but I have no symptoms there. And also said nothing about mild carpal tunnel syndrome in my right wrist. Furthermore, in a discussion we had about someone else's Alzheimer's, he said the disease was incurable. Apparently he has not heard of Dr. Dale Bredesen's very important book, The End of Alzheimer's. read more
