I love him because he's a terrific carrying human being…read more His staff is equally just as attentive, and groovy The reason I'm still around is because of his close observations, thorough questioning and paying attention to details. With thorough workups, he'll get the proper diagnosis, and has yet to be wrong about any of my cases. When I caught a severe case of COVID, it messed me up pretty badly. I was astounded about how knowledgeable he was. His recommendations on what I should do literally saved my life, because he educated me about where I needed to go and what needed to be done. He explains things to you with simplicity so you can understand. While he's also concerned about your emotional well-being, that's a unique quality in a physician because, he knows that emotional instability can affect you physically leading to medical issues. Dr. RAFFINAN, is miles ahead of all of the PCPs I've known. Straight up, he's an extremely skilled physician. I'm proud to be cared for by him and I often brag to all of my friends and family, acquaintances and coworkers about him. I'm long-winded because he truly deserves the accolades. If I was stranded on a deserted island and found a volleyball I'd name him, Dr. WILSON Michael RAFFINAN. LOL.. Seriously though, he's a lifesaver, a Superhero.

Firstly, I went in and was actually listened to rather than having the Dr wait for me to stop talking. He never interrupted me and let me interrupt him, when I did so accidentally. I regularly feel Dr's don't listen to me. Sure, their training is in medicine and they are the experts, but I am certainly the expert at what I am experiencing. If I feel regularly shut down as a man, I can only imagine how women are made to feel with most doctors. So this first off was an excellent sign. Secondly, he was friendly, upbeat and polite. That's not necessary but a nice touch. On to the checkup. He was methodical. He told me exactly what he was doing. When I told him I thought my BP was a little high on his machine, rather than ignoring me he did a second check to ensure it was correct. He was knowledgeable about my ailments, my medications and I didn't get the feeling he was just trying to rush me out the door to increase his turnover cash. This guy is aces in my books and I changed my primary care physician to him today. I'm angry I didn't find a doctor like him sooner. I've only seen him once and his businessman paraphernalia is a little disconcerting. I like money too but it makes me uneasy. I had to sign a form saying I am responsible for the full final cost. Most doctors I've seen will charge a high amount for the insurance and "forgive" the rest. Gotta say that makes me uneasy as well. We'll see how it goes going forward in terms of how badly it hits my wallet and I will update.

I really needed to find a doctor so I could get a check up and I found great reviews on this…read moredoctor. So I made an appointment for Sunday. I killed sometime in the area, then went over. The office is in a brownstone it looks like an the waiting area was nice. The Receptionist had me fill out some forms then I was on my way with Dr. Grishina. She was very nice and asked me the general medical questions & history. Then she gave me an overall checkup. She drew blood, which I hate doing but she was gentle and I didn't feel a thing. After that she told me when I get my results back she will give me a call. Which she did not too long ago. It's hard to find a doctor these days you can feel comfortable with and who aren't pushy or rude. I really like her and I feel good knowing I have a place to go to if I have an issue.

Deceptive Billing, Unnecessary Blood Tests, and Public Humiliation…read more I scheduled my appointment through the clinic's website, which clearly stated the $300 fee included both the medical exam and completion of Form I-693. When I arrived, the receptionist confirmed this. Even the doctor told me--without me even asking--that the $300 covered both the appointment and the documentation. He said a blood test might be an additional charge and necessary to complete my I-693 which I agreed. I had already provided proof of all required vaccinations, and blood test that I got in another clinic and my insurance paid for it, so there was no medical reason to run any tests. Still, they mentioned one specific blood test, but then performed a different one that I did not need. When I returned to receive my results, I was suddenly told I had to pay another $300 to complete the documentation(form I-693) completely contradicting what both the website and staff had previously confirmed. When I questioned it, the receptionist began yelling at me in front of the entire waiting room and refused to finalize my paperwork unless I paid again. It was deeply unprofessional and humiliating. After leaving, I called the clinic to clarify. They told me the website was "wrong," and that the true cost was $300 for the exam and another $300 for the form (I-693) something never disclosed at any point. I requested a detailed, itemized bill showing the charges for both the appointment and filling the form but they refused. All they offered was a basic credit card receipt. When I finally received a billing summary, through email they cc two more people who could see all my bill and personal information, however they didn't disclose the charges and instead just sent me a total of due without specific information, so i had to request a disclosed bill and when I got it,they were charging me for hepatitis b, varicella and MMR titer and i had the vaccines for all these (I gave them my vaccine record including vaccines for these diseases so not blood test was necessary) This clinic is dishonest, lacks transparency, and operates unethically. They performed unnecessary medical procedures, changed prices after the fact, refused to provide proper billing, and publicly humiliated me. I strongly urge others to avoid this place at all costs

This medical office can be hazardous to your health!…read more I chose this office for a general check-up as I had not gone for one for several years. It was nearby, and the picutures of the office looked decent. I was able to make an appointment the next day, which was convenient. But, that is where the positives end. To start my exam, I saw a very nice young woman, but she was not a doctor. She was a PA. Spoke to me about my medical history, etc. I told her I was having an issue with my foot. A few days before, I went to a podiatrist (at a different location/office) and was told that I had injured my foot. I showed the PA my foot, and she said it looked normal (when it is more swollen than my other foot). So, who do I believe? The PA at Dr. Yuryev, or the podiatrist I had seen the week before? Well, the podiatrist ordered an MRI. I went for the MRI, and I have six stress fractures in my right foot. So much for the PA at this office for spotting an issue. Which, of course, they didn't. Then a blood test was taken. I received a call the next day from Dr. Yuryev's office to inform me that they have the results and that someone will call me to discuss. I then got a call from another PA at Dr. Yuryev to discuss the blood test result. First, he went over the good points. Then he went into the bad. I was told that I am anemic, with hemoglobin, hematocrit and RBC all below reference range. The PA told me that in addition to being anemic, I probably have a slow bleed inside of me, probably a tumor in my colon, and that I may have colon cancer. Well, when I heard that, I of course was quite upset. What is strange is that I have no pain and when I looked up the symptoms of colon cancer, I have none of it. I'm not tired all of the time, so I don't know how I could possibly have anemia. I was then told to see a gastroenterologist for a colonoscopy. I was given a reference to one from their office. Called the reference. An appointment was a month away and it was only a 10-minute video visit. That really isn't good enough. I found out on my own that I should have the blood test retaken and get a ferratin (Iron) blood test. So, what did I do? I went and found a really great gastroentrologist in Manhattan. Quickly got an appointment. Met with a real doctor this time. I showed him the blood test result. He said I shouldn't be too worried over it. He retook the blood test. And did a ferratin test. The result? Everything was in range! What a relief. The ferratin test showed everything with my iron levels was normal. Didn't look like I was anemic. While I was at the gastroenterologist, he set up a colonoscopy. I had that procedure done. The result? All NEGATIVE! No polyps, no tumors, no bleeding, nothing. I am NOT bleeding inside my colon, as I was told I probably was by the PA from Dr. Yuryev's office. I went into Dr. Yuryev's office feeling fine, and left being sick from what I was told. Thankfully it all worked out fine for me in the end, but the experience from Dr. Yuryev's office really scared me and worried me to no end for a couple of months until I knew the real results. What a lousy experience. PAs really aren't good enough. You need to see a doctor. With New York State now allowing PAs to administer your health care instead of a real doctor, more stories like mine may emerge. Moral of the story? Don't go to a doctor in Brooklyn. Always go to one in Manhattan if you can. There IS a difference!

She is thorough and thoughtful in her assessments and recommendations. She always presents a number of options and fully supports what you end up choosing. She committed to helping you work through whatever issue you are facing. She is smart, asks the right questions but also tell it to you straight! I have never felt rushed by her. We feel so incredibly lucky to have her as our doctor. Every single time either of us see her, we swoon over her for days. Simply out, we LOVE her.

The experience could be better in one way sometimes I wish the staff was more patient friendly - they can sometimes not be friendly and helpful and there is a wait even though you have a scheduled appointment time. They have also lost my paperwork that I made to point to make sure they had more than once.   Reason I cannot give this a 5 star review the practice and staff overall. All in all though - Dr. Bowler is a good doctor, and I will be referring more patients to her.

But I'm getting to that stage of life where it's time to settle down so I started my search for a long-term doctor. Quite a few of my coworkers seemed happy with Dr. Pentecostes as their PCP so I decided to give her a call. Part of the Weill-Cornell hospital group, Dr. Pentecostes' office is on the 11th floor. The building itself is somewhat dingy but the medical space itself is awash with light, clean lines, and a reassuring sterility. Checking in is a painlessly efficient process and the wait shouldn't be too long, but there is complimentary guest wifi available to keep you entertained for any dallying stays. Dr. Pentecostes is one of the best listeners in the profession. She takes the time to hear you out regarding pain, problems, and medical history. She is also one of the only doctors I've met who is unwilling to throw drugs at a symptoms, preferring instead to try and uncover root issues. My appointments with her have never felt rushed, though she is as efficient as she is caring and honors punctual patients with her undivided time. During my first visit, the front desk failed to let me know that I should arrive 15 minutes earlier to take care of initial paperwork so I ended up having to forego my appointment time and waiting an additional forty minutes to get seen. When she heard about the miscommunication, Dr. Pentecostes was dismayed and promised she'd speak to the folks at the front desk. I thought nothing of it afterwards, but during my next visit about a month later, she asked me if it was a quicker check-in than last time. In fact, it had been (I don't know if it could have been any faster - they were ushering me into the room while I was still handing over the copay), but I was pleasantly surprised that she so acutely remembered the specifics of my last visit. In these and many other ways, Dr. Pentecostes shows a rare mixture of care and professionalism that has long brought my doctor-hopping search to an end. Highly recommended.

I booked an appointment through Zocdoc; thinking I'd only see her once because I just needed a quick physical. After my first encounter with her, I knew I needed to drop my PMD and make her mine. Dr. Sotnik is the epitome of a real primary physician; ensuring that you're thoroughly cared for system by system. I've never had a primary, who went through every lab in detailed they way she did. Dr. Sotnik needs one hundred stars for the work she does, she keeps it real and does not sugarcoat anything. I've never felt more cared for; more informed about my health until our encounter. Her office is clean, especially the bathroom. She does have medical assistant interns, who work with her but they are always very polite. Her office assistant, Gloria deserves a special nod as well. I'm def not the easiest patient as I don't like to follow orders and be held accountable. With dr sotnik, you haven't a choice, she's on you. Especially as a diabetic patient that was in poor health. She helped me back on track and my A1C and weight has been down and I feel so much better now. Ms Gloria who is her office assistant dies it all and is very warm and accommodating at all times!
