    Herring.

I thought this place was great. Tucked off a side street in old town, the location is perfect. Our server was very kind and offered to explain dishes. We opted for herring and potato pancakes to start and Pierogie and the pork sandwich for our meal. Everything was delicious. The sandwich had great pickles, cabbage, mustard and a gravy that I chose to eat it open faced with a fork. The crepe at the end was a perfect sweet note to end the meal. Definitely recommend.

The food is alright; they're pretty good but I've had better, including the Polish dumplings and some soups. The drink options are limited, and the restaurant is larger than a typical family-style venue. Notably, the kitchen closes an hour before the restaurant does. I happened to walk by the next day and decided to give it a try. I still overheard that they had only certain ingredients left an hour and a half before closing, which highlights their professional management of resources. Good service.

Cute little shop serving tradition Polish food. This restaurant is in a great location for tourist but the real reason I walked in is because I saw a group of Babcias having lunch! And you know they only eat the best authentic Polish foods so I had to try! I was in a bit of a time constraint so I could not order from the items I wanted as it was a 30 minute wait time. But I did have a kiełbasa covered in delicious caramelizad onions. That might sound a bit odd but just trust me it's incredible. I had a bit of a sweet tooth so I also ordered the pancakes with Nutella. These pancakes are what us Americans call "crepes" so just FYI. Both dishes tasted amazing and the service was great. I did think the food was a bit overpriced but I think it's due to the area in general. Will def be returning for a soup!

Very good first taste of home made polish food!! The restaurant is a bit small but very lovely and the prices are very abordable for the quantity.

Our first pierogi bite and we were shot campers. After an overnite sleeper train ride into the city, we needed a quick bite at lunchtime, perfect for the bill. Had no wait to grab a table under the shade outside. Service was quick and friendly. Enjoyed sharing a plate of meat pierogis and borsch. Glad they took credit card. And made sure we tipped in cash. We'll be back often as our apartment is across the street.

    Kielbasa.... Peppery and super flavorful!

Super hot August here in Poland, so the best seating is outdoor seating. The well-insulated indoor seating (sans AC) are sweltering! So even though we found a few spots in the Main Square area that we had book-marked to try, the outdoor seating was full. Hungry, we saw this spot with one final outdoor table. It did not disappoint. My son ate two plates of the pierogis. (He finished mine, as delicious as they were, they were filling.) However, I demolished the Greek salad! It was so delicious. The cheese topping is indescribable. Was it a soft feta? A perfected cream cheese crafted to crumb perfectly on a salad? The fresh lettuce, generous tomatoes and large slices of crisp cucumbers were so nicely complimented by the vinaigrette dressing: a creamy, tasty dressing unlike anything I had previously tasted. My fiancé ordered kielbasa, and it was the best I'd had. (First kielbasa in Poland, so I am only comparing to America, mind you). It was extremely flavorful and didn't have that processed "hotdog" taste. Overall, we were glad to have ended up here. Wine and my son's OJ were served warm. But hey, I think the heat wave is causing some energy issues. Service seemed a bit on "island time," but I'm noticing that's normal for Poland. If you find yourself here, pop in! It's quite good!!!

A small place which was quicly full of clients... I was advised by an inhabitant of Krakow because Pierogi are excellent. I confirm it. We tried potatoes/bacon and sauerkraut/mushrooms pierogi. God, we were full ! :) Couln't resist from ending dinner with cherry pierogi. Staff is really nice but could be more comfortable with english. Really closed to Rynek Główny (center of the city).

    Potato pancake!

Amazing food and service. Highly recommended for any traveller. Pierogies, and potato pancakes are top notch!

Very relaxed cafe-vibe with cheap and diverse array of local and regional dishes. Great alternative to the sometimes monotonous and overbearing tourist restaurants around the main square. Potato pancakes better than what I had in Prague.

We sat outside which was a great little courtyard covered by umbrellas for the days sun & heat. We got mixed perogies (this is the only place we've been that lets you order multiple kinds on one plate, half roasted duck and Golabki (meatballs rolled inside cabbage). Perogies were fresh and tasty with spinach/cheese being our favorite. Other offers were potato and cheese, and meat. You can get either mushroom sauce or tomato sauce on the Golabki and I was so torn my waitress brought me both so I could compare. The mushroom sauce was delicious on its own but I enjoyed the tomato sauce more with the Golabki which is filled with meat and rice. (This is definitely a smaller dish than some other menu items with only two Golabki being served). The half roast duck was a large portion of food with potatoes. Duck was moist and tender but my husband who fancies himself a duck snob didn't like the preparation. This is going to be more of a Peking duck style of dish then French sear and serve rare. The children's breaded chicken was some of the best breaded chicken I have ever eaten. If you bring a kid force them to order that and then eat half of it hahaha! It appeared that the most popular item there was their duck burgers as I saw many a plate of that pass by our table. I would venture back to give one of those a try!

There were two rooms and I sat in the long one (the ceiling arc reminded me of a tunnel for some reason) with the duck mural. The menu contained lots of Polish dishes and a dedicated duck section. A duck and pickles appetizer was served gratis. It spread easily on the accompanying slices of bread and was nice. I've not had duck presented like this before and when I piled a couple of the smaller pickle pieces on top the tartness added more complexity for the flavors. I'd order this if it was on their menu. Zurek soup tasted a little tangy and was filled with sausage, mushroom, potatoes plus a whole egg and was delicious. I wasn't sure what to expect but all the different ingredients made for an enjoyable bowl. The bread bowl also contributed by thickening the soup as it abosrbed the broth. The duck breast with smoked plum sauce was thick, cooked medium and very tender. There was a little too much sauce for me but I liked the different taste. The side of glazed carrots and peas had a hint of sweetness and completed the dish along with the potato gnocchi. Service overall was good and efficient. Would return.

When we visited around noon, there were only two parties ahead of us, so the wait wasn't bad at all. We ordered the daily special, a chicken cordon bleu served with potatoes and a side of vegetables that tasted a bit like coleslaw. We also tried two kinds of fried pierogi: spinach and feta, and pickled cabbage with white mushrooms. It was my first time trying pierogi, and I really enjoyed them. They reminded me of dumplings, but were served with sour cream on the side, which added a nice touch. Ordering was very straightforward. The restaurant itself is simple inside, but comfortable (other than the lack of A/C or fans in the summer. There were half a dozen tables with fresh flowers and a little picket fence that made it just adorable. Inside it was very traditional Eastern Europe fancy middle class feeling. (That is a bizarre description I realize! Haha) It was just what we were looking for in terms of traditional Polish food. We opted for cold beet soup (one of their specialties) which had plenty of shredded beets at the bottom, a hard boiled egg and a few tiny shrimp. I'm always blown away by the color every time I'm in Eastern Europe and order this. Fabulous flavor, plenty of garlic and chive. I also ordered spinach and cheese pierogis. The dough on these were perfect and even though they had a lite bath in butter braised onions they weren't drowning in butter. The apple cider duck breast was phenomenal. They clearly brined the duck in the apple cider because the flavor was so deep into the meat and the meat was so tender. We had a little challenge with our waitress but it seemed like she was new. We weren't in a hurry and they were very nice about the baby so we didn't care. We have a friend coming to town and will definitely go back to take her there.
