No worries, mate, Miller Foods sell a ton of side dishes - both white and red mashed potatoes, Frozen Veggies, cous cous, rice, gravy, even ravioli and meatballs. They have you covered for dessert too. If you're a pie guy or girl, you can revel in their choices of Apple, Pumpkin, Boston Cream, Pecan, Chocolate Cream, Sweet Potato, Mince, Blueberry, Lemon Meringue, Strawberry Rhubarb, Cranberry Apple, and the seductively named Fruits of the Forest and French Silk. They set up a big tent around Thanksgiving and sell any Thanksgiving related goodie you can think of. There were quite a few samples available for your tasting pleasure, and we bought a big can of turkey gravy and a package of cheese because the samples were so good. We also bought a 14 pound fresh turkey for about $3 a pound. We really enjoyed our shopping experience. The store and tent are a lot of fun to wander around in, and the employees we interacted with were all super nice and helpful.

I would have preferred that both turkeys be donated if this is what I would find on my doorstep. Disappointing because other years when we have purchased our turkey through Miller Farms we have gotten a much better value than this year. Chalk this one up as a learning experience. Will not repeat with this program. Fortunately they delivered early enough I have time to make other plans.

The winner was the pulled pork, but we loved the turkey too. We returned a couple of days later for another pulled pork sandwich and I also ordered a giant dill pickle I saw on the counter. This place also has a huge selection of raw meats and prepared foods and a bunch of random local goodies and sauces to try. Again, I wish I took a picture of my sandwich, but I forgot about the existence of my phone while I was enjoying it :)

So the counter person took them back up to the register to check the prices, they were in the $23 & $24 range for 14 ounces. That's double the price I pay for ground venison and ground elk at the Litchfield Locker, the prices there are $11.99/lb (venison) & 10.99/lb (elk) respectively. So, needless to say, I just wasn't interested in being fleeced, no thanks. I won't be returning.

They get a lot of their stuff from local sources. My wife had the quiche of the day, and it was the first time in years that I'd tasted a real quiche, not those rubbery things that other places dish up. I had the pasta of the day, which was ricotta stuffed ravioli in an Alfredo sauce. It was fantastic. I saw other people eating sandwiches and salads. Everything looked delicious and generous. My beverage was watermelon limeade. It was very refreshing and not too sweet. For dessert, we had something called a ganache bar or something like that. Think of a slab of fudge with a graham cracker crust. It was very hard work finishing it, but I wasn't going to leave any behind. We took home a lasagna with meatballs and sausage. It was very good, as was the coconut wonder bar we pounded down on top of it. My favorite purchases were the fresh cut egg linguine and the Ritz-based stuffed cod. The fresh linguine cooks in a minute and the texture just hits different in the best possible way. The cod was nice and firm and the Ritz stuffing was crazy delicious. I also liked the Chicken Francaise. You can't really compare it to restaurant quality Francaise because it's specifically made to be re-heated and eaten later. With this in mind, I though that the small chicken pieces and lemon sauce were very solid. My other purchases included clam chowder and Tuna Mac Salad with peas. The Tuna Mac was pretty good. It wouldn't be in regular rotation for me, but I'd get it once in a while. The clam chowder was my least favorite, but I respect that New England Pasta seemed to go for something different. The texture was good and it had plenty of clams and potato. But it tasted like it had a little blue cheese flavor. I can't say for sure that they used blue cheese, but the chowder definitely had something different that gave it this vibe. For me, this flavor was a bit too assertive. Both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's made @cticecreamtour's Top 15 CT Creameries. My original reviews for both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's were both good btw. I just didn't initially connect with the flavors I tried in the way that I did with my other CT favorites. Since those initial reviews, everything I tried at each has been a banger. At Tulmeadow, I recently had Red Raspberry Chocolate Chip, Marshmallow Toasted Cornflake, Chocolate Raspberry Raspberry Curd and the best flavor I've had this year -- Double Raspberry Crumbcake. The flavors all popped. The use of intensely flavored raspberry curd in a couple of the ice creams was next level. The colors were right on. The texture was top tier. Service was friendly and the farm setting adds to the experience. Tulmeadow is 5 Stars and I'm upgrading my earlier review.

I asked what the smallest size was that they could do two flavors in and they were more than willing to accommodate the kiddie cup, which was still plenty of ice cream for me. I think the sign said it's 3 oz, but it at least seemed like more to me. As good as the red raspberry was, I think I preferred the burnt honey. The flavor was strong went well with the naturally occurring cream flavor. There was a lot of parking on the side of the building. I think there was an indoor area, though I can't confirm if you can order ice cream inside. I used the outdoor window to order. I also found the prices to be reasonable. Great first experience. I would definitely recommend the ice cream. It did not disappoint, and I look forward to having it again.

In addition to açaí bowls, there are juices, smoothies, salads and wraps available. I got the Tropical Paradise Açaí Bowl. The base is made of açaí, almond milk, pineapple, mango, banana and blueberries. It was topped with granola, pineapple, banana, coconut and honey. This was so fresh! I could hear the blender running as the girl, blended everything for me. There's no freezer burn here. It was cold, fresh, and so delicious! I also think $11.00 is a great value. I once paid $17 for an açaí bowl on my travels somewhere, the portion was tiny and it was far from fresh. Liquid Nirvana offers delicious, fresh, high quality products from a large assortment of organic fruits and vegetables.

Depending on when you come sometimes they run out of what you're looking for like specific breads, yogurt, etc. On specific days they also have additional discounts like buy one get one 50% off on sushi and they discount things coming close to expiration like cookies and salad kits. They also still give out free paper bags, even at self checkout.

But, as other Yelpers have already stated, the prices are considerably more expensive than items found in your "normal grocery store". One reason might be the small ARMY of staff they have working here. I arrived just after they opened at 8am this morning, EVERY aisle had at least two or three employees stocking shelves. Yeah, the store is nice & clean, but I imagine the higher prices on stock reflect that level of staffing. The parking lot can be a mini adventure to navigate, but I try to get here early to avoid too much hassle. And since Whole Foods in Avon is a 20 mile round trip for me, I only come here to shop occasionally.
