Long story short, we brought in our 2022 honda crv (same dealer we purchased it from) after a minor accident that required the drivers side door to be replaced. Don Jacobs body shop did a TERRIBLE job refitting our door and quarter panels. The first time we picked it up, we noticed the drivers side window didnt roll up all of the way and the door latch had a strange 'click' and felt very 'off'. Also, the inside molding was covered in a black grease. We ended up taking the car back after they promised to 'make things right' after seeing my review. They did fix the windows but the door still doesn't fit flush with the other body panels and a few weeks later, the drivers window started having trouble sliding up. The plastic trim above the wheel well is starting to pop off like it was installed incorrectly. We have lost all confidence in this dealership and will purchase our vehicles where we can trust the service department. read more

I had a very unfortunate experience with Don Jacobs after my Sienna was rear ended. It took about 7 months for repairs to be completed and I had to return it 4 times because my trunk would no longer shut atomically, lane assist sensors didn't work, and the body work looked terrible. The van SEEMED to be functionally restored, but there were aesthetic issues I was told could simply not be fixed. Within a few weeks of returning for the FOURTH time, my van began having the very same functional issues and literally started falling apart. The trunk would not open or close and the plastic panels on the inside of the car began falling off one by one. I took my van to a different body shop to be looked at and was sent photos of the Don Jacob's awful excuse for repairs underneath the botched body work. It was found to have multiple missing parts, was repaired with rusted parts, as well as several other issues. I was quoted an additional 10,000 in repairs. The insurance company was stunned to see the photos of what Don Jacobs tried to pass off as repairs. In fact, they asked if my car had been in another accident! Clients shouldn't have to take vehicles apart to ensure their cars are repaired properly, completely, and ethically. When I asked the manager about the issues, his only comment was that he heard I took it to a certain paint and body shop and was surprised I would even use that particular place. No apology or offer to make it right. Over a year after the accident my van was considered a total loss by insurance. I do not recommend using Don Jacobs Paint and Body. read more

I had a recent very unsatisfying experience having my VW Beetle repaired at Don Jacobs Paint and Body Shop. Their estimate of repair costs was off by a factor of 3, and they kept my car in their shop for 2 months to complete the repair. Seldom received updates, and then only when I called them numerous times. They did not return phone calls or text messages. I purchased the vehicle new from Don Jacobs, as I did a predecessor VW. And I had all the service work for these 2 vehicles performed at Don Jacobs. I expected that I would receive the same high quality of service from the Paint and Body Shop as I had from their Sales and Service Departments. Unfortunately I did not. Very disappointed in Don Jacobs as an organization for not addressing the problems at their Paint and Body Shop. read more

As others have mentioned, communication is terrible and they're rude and dishonest. Our repair literally took twice as long as they'd said, they never updated us with the delay until the day we were expecting to pick up the car (this happened multiple times with a new finish date promised each time), they claimed the delay was due to needing to order a part that they had billed us for and confirmed having purchased and received prior to us dropping off our car with them, and when we called to request they help provide a rental car after taking so much longer with no actual reason, they hung up on us. This was a completely terrible experience and I'd strongly advise avoiding them entirely. read more

Under no circumstances should you bring your vehicle here for a repair. Even when facilitated by an insurance company, the communication is non-existent (unless you count being yelled at by Mark). Unnecessary delays and shoddy work will be your outcomes. Find another option from the myriad of repair shops in the region. And if you have to deal with them and end up frustrated, be nice to the poor receptionists who have to field all of the angry callers. (Especially Heidi, she is doing her best). read more

I have been to this shop at least 4 times and they have done great work for me. They cooperated with my insurance company, gave me reasonable and quick estimates and completed the work on time. I should have looked at the ratings before having Don Jacobs Body Shop write an estimate on my vehicle damage. No one authorized them to order any parts but yet they are charging me for restocking the parts. They blame the insurance company and the insurance company blame the body shop. Buyer beware of these folks!!! read more

After my BMW was rear ended, I didn't even hesitate to choose Don Jacobs for my body shop. The whole process was smooth and we were updated throughout the entire repair timeframe. (There's also a link you can use to check the status of your vehicle which was so awesome). It was way quicker than I expected and my SUV looks even better now than it did when I purchased it- seriously, you can't even tell it was ever damaged. Everyone I came in contact with at the shop was super friendly and they've all been great. Hopefully I'll never need a body shop again but if I do, I won't trust anyone else in the area with my BMW. They did an amazing job and I'll recommend them to anyone! read more

Do not go here for auto work!!!! Run fast!!!! Had a truck back into my Honda Odyssey and tow hitch pierced the radiator and AC unit but little other damage. Took it there as I was expecting Honda replacement parts instead of aftermarket. WRONG! Had to have AC unit filled with Freon almost immediately & never has worked like the original. Had to have filled 2 other times & Fast forward 3 years from the repair (after the warranty expired), I had to have the entire unit replaced after it quit working. 3 years!!!! Then a year after that the radiator they replaced is now leaking!!!! 4 years after the repair. The original ones were just fine and years older than that when the accident occurred. Shoddy parts used!!!!! Buyer beware. They might last through their warranty (mine didn't even do that), but crappy aftermarket won't last much longer. Go elsewhere!!!!! read more

Don Jacob's Honda is running a body shop that is of poor service and of low quality of professionalism and public relations. The manager is a man of very low professional standards and he can not deliver what the outfit is promising! I took my car to this outfit twice but after my encounters with them the second time, I decided not to ever own another Honda! That's how bad it was! When I chose don jacobs paint and bodywork to do the repairs on my Volkswagen I assumed that don jacobs would be doing the work. Instead of doing the balance and alignment they had tire discounters on nicholasville balance and align my car. They did it wrong and I had to pay don jacobs to rebalance and realign my car after I got it back. In the past I have had major problems with tire discounters on nicholasville rd. and didn't want them touching my car again. In the 4 miles that I drove home from the shop I apparently got a screw in a non reparable part of my right rear tire and had to replace it. I had to spend $555 to fix the car when I got it back. Why would you bring your car to the dealership to get it repaired when they are going sub the work out to the lowest bidder? read more

This place is horrible! I had my car brought in due to a front end collision and undercarriage damage accident. The first time it was gone for over 3 weeks than I brought it back in again and it was almost week and a half and it still is not fixed correctly. The first time I picked up my car it had a indention flaw on the bumper and smudges of black all over the fender and my Jeep will excessively shake when getting up to around 70 miles an hour and is pulling to the right. I took the technician who fixed my car with me he confirmed that it was pulling to the right and it did vibrate excessively at high speeds. So I made arrangements to drop off my vehicle again and I didn't hear anything from them for almost week and a half only after I called and asked for my vehicle back. The man named Austin didn't bother telling me that he wasn't going to be there for 3 or 4 days in a row and my car just sit there. I even had called him and told him that I needed my car back ASAP because I was leaving for vacation. That's when the manager called me and told me personally that he had drove it and it was not vibrating and informed me they didn't bother sending it to the Jeep dealership to investigate the vibrating. That they sent it to a tire store and they said they couldn't get it to replicate the vibrating. So apparently they fixed the flaw in the bumper and just left it sitting until I called to ask about it. The manager reassured me that it was not doing the excessive vibrating when getting up to high speeds because he personally took it out and test drove it. So I picked my Jeep up once again and it still is excessively vibrating at high speed on the highway. So the manager basically was telling me what I wanted to hear about it not vibrating and ignored the fact that my Jeep was not fixed correctly. And I don't think he took it for a test drive because you can't get up to 70 an hour anywhere in the city. The highest speed limit in Lexington is 55 miles an hour! So I called and left a message for the service writer who had been taking care of my car and left a message. Then I get a hateful phone call back from the manager he said that he test drove it and there is nothing wrong with it and they can't do anything else to fix it. So I made the comment "Would you like me to come pick you up and take you out and show you what it is doing?" that's what he snapped at me and told me that I needed to take it to the Jeep dealership. I was dumbfounded because they are the auto body repair and the undercarriage damage was supposed to be fixed and done by them. I know that they subcontract out the damage to underneath the car but they did not send it to Freedom Dodge which is a Jeep dealership repair center in the first place! You would assume if you couldn't get a car back to the way it was before that you would automatically send it to the jeep dealership to get it fixed properly. But not here they subcontract it to places like Discount Tires and so. So now I am having to take my Jeep over to the dealership and try to get it fixed because Don Jacobs wasn't capable of sending it to them in the first place to get it fixed. So now this is the third time that I am having to drop my car off because Don Jacobs wasn't capable of fixing it properly in the first place. And clearly the manager is not management material because they were so rude and unprofessional to me. So if you have a month or 2 to fool around with getting your car not fixed correctly and in an untimely matter this is the place to go. read more

Don Jacobs in a consistently helpful business. I took my car there to be serviced, and it was done promptly and done well. What's more, they found that the towing company, Bluegrass Towing, had actually damaged my car on the trip over. Don Jacobs called the company and had them fix the problem immediately, rebuffing attempts by Bluegrass to delay the process. I recommend Don Jacobs to anyone! read more
