Sorry this review is so long, but I feel that choosing an attorney to represent you is such an important decision that I wanted to put a good amount of info out there from my experience with Donohoe Kearney to help you make that choice.
Wow, where do I begin?? I'll start by stating the obvious, Mr. Kearney and his team at Donohoe Kearney are simply the best! My workers comp injury case was somewhat complicated due to me being so naive and "green" when I was first injured. I was very unaware of the lengths insurance companies (and employers) go to in order save a buck, even if it is detrimental to your health (getting injury fixed and healthy) and/or your families needs (like paying mortgage, bills, groceries, kids needs, etc). I learned quickly that Insurance companies could care less about any of that. Luckily, I came across Donohoe Kearney's website and after some consultations, Mr. Kearney fortunately agreed to take on my case.
I unfortunately needed a pretty significant neck surgery to have any shot at returning to a somewhat normal life after my work injury, but my employers workers comp insurance company immediately denied it, for really no credible reason. Further, medical treatment I needed like physical therapy, traction and medication...denied. Disability checks that I was fully entitled to...you guessed it, also denied for months. Not long after Mr. Kearney began handling my case, good things finally started happening. Medical treatment, referrals to specialists, much needed back pay, prescription card, surgery, etc. all approved! Everything I could have asked for, was finally approved. There is no doubt in my mind that none of that would have happened without Mr. Kearney and his team. It helps that Mr. Kearney is a well known attorney to insurance companies, opposing attorneys and to judicial/court personnel. You cannot put a price tag on experience and respect. You can tell, for great reasons, everyone genuinely respects Mr. Kearney and the way he represents his clients.
The communication Mr. Kearney and his team provide is second to none. Mr. Kearney will thoroughly prepare you for any court proceeding or appointment to ensure you are totally ready for whatever the insurance company or opposing attorney may throw at you. I like that Mr. Kearney is a straight shooter, no sugar coating, no exaggerating, no wishful thinking...just facts. I think he does this so you, as the client, will have a very clear understanding of where your case stands and what to expect as you go through it. That means a lot, trust me. Even when nothing major is pending, I still get calls or emails from Brooke, the Legal Assistant, just checking in with me to see how I am doing, ensuring everything is going ok, etc.
In closing, please learn from me...you cannot navigate the many obstacles you face when dealing with a injury case or workers comp case. You are setting yourself up for failure. You must have an attorney to ensure you are represented correctly, and since you need an attorney...do yourself a favor and get the best out there! I highly, highly recommend giving Donohoe Kearney a call. If your case is accepted it will be the best decision you could make to give yourself the best chance of coming out of an unfortunate situation, on top and hopefully healthy. I truly cannot say enough positive things about Mr. Kearney, Brooke and the rest of the crew at Donohoe Kearney.
