I live in Maryland and needed to order special flowers for a funeral for July 24th, 2019. Before placing the order, I called Donahoe's and let them know which arrangement I wanted, and made sure they had all the specific flowers in the arrangement. Sometimes florists don't have every single flower in stock and substitute similar, unless they have a day to order. The owner told me what they had and I was confident she would make a beautiful arrangement, and she did! Went to Donahoe's Whimsical Flowers to order flowers for my grandmother's funeral, which was scheduled in two days. I had found a couple of arrangements I was interested in, and I had checked the prices online before stopping by the store (her prices were better than a competitor's, which helped draw me in). A potential negative started to shape up when I discovered that the price I was quoted in store was significantly higher than what was posted online. However, the owner (who has only just recently acquired Donahoe's and who I was speaking to) did everything in her power to make it right. First off, she explained the conflict in pricing and expressed her own great frustration with her internet storefront service provider (the "Teleflora Network"). This was not the first time she'd been placed in this situation. Teleflora will quote one price to the customer, and a different (higher) price to the store owner - the latter being more reflective of the cost for the owner. This makes her operation seem like a bait-and-switch, which was absolutely not her intention. As you might have guessed, she charged us the lower prices we'd seen online. Aside from that initially bumpy start, the rest of the experience was wonderful. The owner worked with us very personally, helping us customize the two floral displays in a manner which suited our tastes and made the best of her time constraints - the displays were ready in time for grandma's wake and delivered promptly, which was slightly more than 24 hours from when we ordered everything. read more

I called them 8 days before my wedding and asked them if they could make my wedding bouquet based on the flowers I was DIY-ing for the bridesmaids. They went out of their way to find me a comparable flowers and did an AWESOME job! Plus, the prices were literally unbeatable. Harris Teeter in Gainesville was twice the cost! The arrangement looked absolutely NOTHING like the one I ordered. Not in color, style or theme. I ordered a basket full of yellow flowers and green plants with a bird and bird's nest. What arrived was in a cheap, ugly basket with pink and yellow flowers and a pink satin bow on the top. No one called to ask if I'd like to order something different (since they obviously had nothing even remotely close to what I'd ordered). Florists should not post pictures and have people order based on those pictures, if they're just going to send whatever they feel like. read more
