I called the florist the next morning just to make double sure my arrangement would make it. (PS this was on Saturday morning!) Not only did it make it ...it made it on time and it made it there absolutely gorgeous! The person that answered my call told me that while my flowers weren't exactly as pictured on the website, the arrangement was pink as pictured. This florist was suggested by Telaflora for an online order. Even though they called to confirm a delivery time, they did not indicate that they could not supply the arrangement I ordered. The substitute arrangement was not similar in style or size. it contained white hydrangeas which turned brown within 2 days. And yes, I did add water daily as instructed. When I called to speak with the florist, she reminded me that she had the "right" to substitute (which I didn't dispute). I suggested that a phone call would have solved the whole problem as I could have let her know what I needed in size and style and we could have come up with a substitute which would have met my needs. She didn't feel this was necessary. The flowers were not the freshest and customer service was poor. I would NOT recommend this florist. read more

I've used Purcellville Florist in the past and been very happy. I received two arrangements today I ordered for a funeral and was completely underwhelmed. Because I have been happy with their work in the past, I called to give them a second chance. I had explained the arrangements were for either side of the podium in my church. The flowers were in tall clear vases in dirty water and consisted of two carnations, two mums and a small iris. I am so disappointed in the response when I called. I was told the price of flowers had gone up and that was that. Seriously? Not a rose or a lily in a bouquet for a lady's funeral? My brother-in-law passed away on a Thursday night. Friday was my husband's birthday. We spent that at the funeral home, making the arrangements. Saturday morning, we left for a week at the beach, where we spent a lot of time working on the plans for the services to be held upon our return. I called Purcellville Florist from the beach, inquiring about a large spray to put on a flat, handmade casket. Sherry listened carefully to what we really wanted and what we could afford to spend. A short time later, she called me back to say that some of the flowers we had discussed were not available. She also made it very clear that it would be somewhat tricky to take a spray that is intended for a stand and make it "sit up" enough for the flat casket. I cannot tell you how completely overwhelmed I was with what she was able to create for Robert's casket. It was absolutely gorgeous! I have to say that Sherry listened to my words, and she also listened to my heart, because she gave us exactly what we wanted and needed at a very sad time. I was thoroughly impressed.
