This review, however, isn't so much about the care they've provided me, although, I was at their office yesterday for my second annual cleaning and received wonderful care from Laureen, per usual. This review is a shout out to their admin Shawna who was gracious enough to help me sort out some issues with my son's care at a dental office across the state, where he lives part time. I had called to get a couple questions answered about an issue I was running into at the other office. Shawna took it upon herself to call the other office in order to get me some better information so I could move forward with my son's care. She didn't need to help me out; she didn't need to do ANYTHING since my son is not a patient at GFD, but she took time out of her day to help me get my son's appointment across the state more squared away. I'm very thankful for her kindness and GFD's attention to patient/customer service. I wouldn't think of changing providers not only for her help today but also for the friendly care I've received time and time again from Laureen and Dr. Gasior. I, like many, avoided the dentist as much as possible in my adulthood despite being in healthcare and advising my patients on the scope and sequence to better health. Do as I say and not as I do. Well no longer. Today, I drove to Robinson Dental without once feeling nauseated, thinking of turning around, or mentally cursing out another driver from misplaced angst. It was a freaking miracle. My experience with Dr. JD began a couple years ago when he was referred to me by a colleague at the hospital that I trust implicitly. This individual has been going there for years and continued even after a move now required an hour drive. Honestly, I was terrified. I hadn't been to the dentist in years and was apprehensive, embarrassed, and skeptical. While the initial visit was unnerving only due to my own neurosis, Dr. JD was kind, gentle, funny, and was never judgey, dismissive, nor condescending and continues to be all of those things. All of the others reviews are true. He calls to check on you the night after a procedure. He explains everything in as much detail as you'd like. He is straight forward and honest. He respects your time and discomfort. But while all of these statements are true they can not convey his earnestness nor convey all of the little bits that are inclusive in his magic. I know it sounds like hyperbole. It is not. Let me repeat. I did not have one negative thought about my appointment today. What was that? I just saw a pig flying... I also have to give a shout out to Jessica for calling me when there was a cancellation getting me in two weeks early. And to Paula for making me ultra comfortable physically and mentally. And to Dr. JD's father, who always has a smile, a kind word, and started something truly great. I have had my mouth completely overhauled and am confident that it will never fall into disrepair with the help of Dr. JD and gang. I saw Georgia the first time I had my teeth cleaned. Georgia dropped the suction apparatus on the floor. She picked it up off the floor, & put it directly back in my mouth. I told the front desk that I never wanted to see that hygienist again. The front desk person said that someone changed my appointment back to Georgia. I asked to speak to Dr. Salah. He was unable to talk to me as he was between patients. The manager Mindy came out & asked me if I would stay, I could get my teeth cleaned by Kim at 2PM, then I could talk to the dentist at that time. I was already told by the front desk person that if I waited until 2PM I could then get my teeth cleaned. Approximately 25 minutes later Mindy came out & told me that Kim couldn't stay, but she would have Dr. Salah call me as soon as he was done. All of this was done in front of other patients with no care being taken by the staff. By 6PM I tried calling but the practice was closed. I never recieved a call back from Dr. Salah. This dentist was refered to me by numerous family members. I still can't believe I was treated this way.

I'm writing this to share my experience so others can make an informed decision…read more During my visit, the dentist took a small number of X-rays and told me I had multiple cavities that needed treatment. The X-rays were shown to me, but the cavities were not obvious, which made me uncomfortable. I left feeling unsure whether the diagnosis was accurate. Because of that uncertainty, I scheduled a second opinion with another dentist just a few days later. That office took significantly more X-rays -- roughly 4-5 times as many -- giving them much more imaging to review. After a thorough exam, they found no cavities at all. I understand that dentistry isn't always black-and-white, and I could see how a dentist might miss a single cavity. However, being told I had multiple cavities by one provider and none by another -- especially when the second dentist had far more diagnostic images -- was surprising and concerning. I'm glad I trusted my instincts and sought a second opinion. I would encourage others to do the same if something doesn't feel right.

Just because I am a transfer patient of Dr. Richard Meldrum, doesn't mean you can't accommodate me. Like last month when I walked around with a broken wire in my mouth because you claim there's "no appointments available " I come in and Dr. Hunter then tells me that I could have come in due to it being an emergency. I then a few days ago call for a reminder on my upcoming appointments and she scolds me in my voicemail about not getting reminders. I do get reminders, like I should have to explain to you that I have a new phone. Every interaction with your receptionist is negative. Like just now, I ask if you can accommodate squeezing me into an earlier appointment (some people have busy schedules) and you quickly ask for my name , and then snap no and hang up. You're here to make MY life easier. Not the other way around honey. Get a new receptionist. Dr. Mark Hunter is wonderful, and the rest of the staff is lovely. I am very happy with my teeth. I just don't want to smile at your receptionist.
