On November 18, we were asked to pay a $500 deposit to start the case, which we did in good faith. Two days later, due to financial difficulties, we called to cancel. I was told I had to speak with an attorney, but the attorney never called. There was no notice or apology. When I followed up, the staff member I spoke with was dismissive and said there was "nothing she could do." I was later told to come in for a "free consultation," which required me to take time off work. I met with Eunice Cardona, who said she needed to speak with a manager about my refund. Weeks passed with no update. Eventually, Ashley Hass emailed me stating my refund was denied. When I asked why, I received no response. After following up again, Mónica L. Hernández-Santiago said the $500 deposit was used to cover the "initial consultation." So what happened to the FREE consultation they advertise, and why does the receipt say "Deposit" and not "Consultation Fee"? This experience was deceptive and frustrating. Immigration is already stressful, this firm only adds to that stress. Please look elsewhere!

The reason we picked her was because they were a law firm with people who didn't act like my husband and I were out "get" one another. They treated us like a team who actually loved each other, but that wanted a plan on how to navigate the legalities of marriage documents we were about to sign with the State of Maryland. Yes, they're professional, but frankly, quite emotionally intelligent and genuine! Like some other reviewers, I paid $150 for an initial consultation (pretty standard, when I was shopping around for lawyers), and then when it came down to the full payment, I paid about $3000. The whole process between my husband's law firm and the Law Offices of Tina Sharma took about 4 months, but I had all the meetings I wanted. Frankly, the delay was on my part since the signing itself took a lot of dancing around schedules. Attorney Wilson worked with me line by line to make edits that made me feel like my future children and I would be protected in the way that I wanted. The only hiccup I encountered was that on the day I came in to sign, there was an old draft printed out to sign. However, once I mentioned this, Attorney Wilson quickly went upstairs to print the copy we had discussed. (Always read before signing!) Yo solicité una consulta con el abogado para el día de ayer 29 de septiembre a las 10am, nunca me llamaron, yo llamé como las 10:30 para saber que pasó y me dicen que el abogado si se contactó pero sin éxito pero yo no tenía nada de llamadas perdidas, les repetí mi número de teléfono para que me devuelva la llamada el abogado y espere pero nada. Estuve llamando durante el día para saber que pasó pero después me dijeron que apuntaron mal mi número y que me llamaría el abogado dentro de 30 minutos, jamás me llamó el abogado. Los llamé como a las 2:22pm para saber porque no me devuelven la llamada y me dijeron que el abogado ya no hacía más llamas para consultas por el día, ya enojada les dije que no quería reprogramar nada y quería la devolución de mi dinero ya que de la equivocación fue de ellos al apuntar mal mi número y desde la primera llamada que les hice ayer les repetía mi número de teléfono. Me dijeron que dejarían una nota al abogado que yo pido el reembolso. Cómo a las 5pm el abogado Jaime me llama para la consulta, cosa que ya no quería por todo el enojo que me hicieron pasar durante todo el día y quería mi reembolso, cosa que me empezó a hablar de manera grosera el abogado y me dijo que no me devolvería el dinero para después colgarme, yo frustrada con todo el trato que recibí durante todo el día y como me habló el abogado empecé a llorar. Llamé de nuevo y me contestó la secretaria, le comento todo el martirio que pase durante el día para que atendieran y al final para que me trate de manera grosera el abogado y me cuelgue, la señorita me dijo que dejaría una nota al abogado para pasar mi malestar y avisar que seguía queriendo mi reembolso. Hoy llamé de nuevo donde me atendió un chico, me dijo que el abogado dejó nota de no reembolso, le expliqué también todo lo mal que lo pasé ayer y me dieron ganas de llorar de nuevo cuando recordé como me habló ese abogado Jaime. Al final no me dieron nada de solución y perdí los 150 dólares. No contraten este abogado porque es de lo peor y no sabe tratar a las personas.
