I was getting ready to attend a high school reunion social and I had a particular dress I just had to wear. As I was putting it on I noticed the seam had unraveled around my waist in such a way I couldn't have attempted to repair it myself. What was I going to do? I couldn't show up to see some people I haven't seen in over 20 years (OK maybe over 28 years) in just any old thing. I had to wear the magic dress. The one that makes me look younger in every picture I have taken in it. The one where I somehow look 20lbs thinner. You know that dress? We all have one. I had a couple of hours and thought I would run over to Donna's tailor shop and beg/bribe/plead/cry to get her to fix it right away. I know Donna is always busy and has many other customers to attend to so I felt my chances were slim. Well she asked me when I absolutely needed it and I plead my cased and she said "Come back in 15 minutes" I did and it was done and she had even pressed it. All for $3.00. SCORE!! After all I was going to offer a $20.00 bribe. I have been going to Donna's for years and have always been satisfied. But this one time really made me a big fan and forever loyal customer. If I could give below a 1 I would. I texted a photo of a jacket to Donna as she requested to get an estimate for a zipper pull. She quoted my $12.50. I took the poly fleece jacket in. The shop was busy & I had to wait. She looked at the jacket & said she would look for a zipper pull in back. It would be $12.50. She said If she didn't have the zipper pull she would put in a zipper. I went to pick up the jacket after waiting 5 days. I was told it would be $30.00! I told her you told me it would be $12.50 She said she did not have a zipper pull so she put in a new zipper. I TOLD her she NEVER gave me the price for a new zipper OR called me. I told her that I was quoted $12.50. She claims she told me but that is NOT true. The jacket was $26.00 so why would I spend $30.00 for a zipper? I will never go back to this shop Nor would I recommend this shop. read more

The zipper recently broke on my motorcycle jacket and I contacted several different tailor shops via yelp for a quote. I was able to get a replacement zipper from the manufacturer​ and had Donna do the replacement work. I have to say I'm very happy with the work. I know leather can be difficult to work with and I knew not to expect a perfect machine finished stitch​ like it was brand new since this was a repair. The repair was $40 which was lower than​ most others and she also had a lot of positive reviews. She completely recreated it to exactly what I wanted (I wanted to have lace long sleeves added to my sleeveless dress). I went in to have two pairs of pants and a shirt brought in. I called ahead of showing up and she told me I did not need an appointment and I could just walk in. 15 minutes later I walked in and she was just starting to do a fitting for a wedding dress. Once she finally addressed me, she refused to give me any price quotes up front until after she pinned everything. After over an hour of being there she tried to charge me $25 for the shirt and $20 for each pair of pants. When I started asking questions about the price and length of time to get it done, she started yelling to the other two workers in the back. They all kept yelling with a snotty attitude about it. I finally told them I did not want to do business with them and let her unpin all of my clothes and left. They need to learn to respect and appreciate their customers, oh yeah... and to speak English! I ended up taking my clothes just down the street. The man was very nice and helped me right away. He told me up front that it would be $10 for the shirt and $12 for each pair of pants; he will have them all ready in 5 days. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. read more

They are reasonable, friendly and reliable! I went somewhere else at first to take my Chinese tea ceremony dress. The seamstress said to come back in a week. I came back in 2 weeks and turns out, she left the country and was not coming back until after my wedding. Life happens but a call would have been nice. Panicked I took the dress to Donna's based on a recommendation from the amazing seamstress working on my white wedding gown (she only does those). Donna took my dress right away, did not upcharge just because of my situation and actually comforted me she would get it done in time and for a very reasonable price. Donna is a life saver! I can't say enough wonderful things about her. I got my wedding dress custom made. Although I liked the overall look of it, the first time I tried it on, I couldn't lift my arms at all. Not one inch. I took the dress to Donna, and she worked wonders. She completely re-did the sleeves, added 7 bustles, and tweeked a few other things. Also, since I was an out-of-town bride, she worked with my schedule to find time for my fittings. She even offered to come in on a holiday in order to accommodate my schedule (luckily we ended up finding a time that worked for both of us that didn't require her to come in on a holiday). Oh--and most of all, she gave me a fair price for it all. This was especially appreciated considering many other tailors will charge outrageous minimums for a wedding dress just simply because it is a wedding dress. Not Donna. They sold me a dress based on how it would fit me after they altered it. Long story short it had pleat like gathering in the waist instead of a smooth form fit!
