I was looking for a second opinion on a furnace replacement and air conditioner replacement, and I'm certainly happy I chose Donnie Rowe. I knew I needed a new air conditioning unit, as it has been working poorly and leaking for years, and I was told by another HVAC company in the fall that my furnace was dangerously in need to replacing. Wyatt came out and looked over everything. I gave him every opportunity to take advantage of the situation. I was prepared to replace a furnace and two air conditioning units if need be. In the end, Wyatt recommended replacing one air conditioning unit and told me the furnace was safe and not in need to replacing. He recommended I upgrade from a 2 ton unit to a 2.5 ton unit. Aaron came out to replace the air conditioner a few days later. He did a great job and left minimal debris to clean up. The new system cools my upstairs better than I had even hoped for. Value? I really don't know. Everything seems so high now. But I would say that Wyatt could have socked me with a furnace a two air conditioners, so the value I'd say is with the honest evaluation and recommendations you get. I wanted to work with simply an HVAC company, not one of these do it all HVAC, plumbing, and electrical businesses they all seem to be moving to. I like people who focus and specialize. Some companies will diagnose your system as needing replacement at once and justify it by quoting large prices to make repairs which (to their way of explaining) will be a waste of time and money. And then there are companies like Donnie Rowe who will tell you what you're dealing with, quote a reasonable price to repair, explain the risks of waiting to replace, and quote a much more competitive price if you decide you do want to go ahead and replace the whole unit now. In the conversations I've had with the company, Donnie Rowe has answered the phone himself, been very professional, courteous, and customer service oriented. We bought a home in the summer and it has a large extension, but the HVAC was not updated, so most of the house was rarely below 80F in the summer and got into the low 50s this winter. This is not really how I like to live, so I knew we needed a serious upgrade to be comfortable in this home! I called Donnie Rowe and they quickly sent someone out to diagnose our problem and provide recommendations/quotes. As it turns out our duct work was also a mess, which explained why our master bedroom was boiling hot while the rest of the house plummeted in the winter. They recommended redoing the ductwork and installing a new furnace and AC unit. I new this would be a the best solution in advance because anything else is just a bandaid not fully solving the real problem. My dad is a retired HVAC mechanic, so I called him after I got the quote and he agreed that it was the best/most permanent fix and that the price I was quoted was very reasonable for the amount of work they did. They completed the work in the same week and on a faster timeline than originally projected. Additionally, they DID NOT charge me extra to use a credit card the way some companies do. I know that whoever is receiving the payment via credit card is charged a fee, but I prefer they adjust for that in some other way. We have hired Donnie Rowe's three times now, and we always recommend them to our friends and family. They charge a reasonable service fee ($79) and are upfront about how much they charge for freon, etc.. Many other companies will not tell you the cost of their freon or other services over the phone, so I appreciate this about Donnie Rowe; there are no surprises! Donnie and his technicians are friendly and well kept. They seem like a wholesome bunch of everyday guys, so I feel very comfortable having them in/around my home. The only downside to choosing Donnie Rowe's is they seem to book up fast. We had to wait a couple days this last time. However, they are upfront about your wait time, too. Got a quote for a 2 1/2 ton 16 seer Carrier air conditioner. The guy that came out said it was exact same as the Bryant. I had asked since I was getting a quote for a Bryant. Carrier and Bryant are owned by the same company. I called him back to see what a Carrier 14 seer cost, he said they aren't going to make them until they get rid of all the 13 seers, since those are no longer able to be ordered. He quoted me a higher price for the 13 seer and when I questioned it he said oops I wrote down the wrong price for the 16 seer. These guys are $1200 more for the 16 seer Carrier compared to the Bryant 16 seer.. Pretty bad if you ask me. read more
