I came to Melanie at my wits end with my very high strung, reactive rescue, Laika. She was able to…read moreasses her behaviors, and we got started in one-on-one reactive training just weeks later. My dog grew so much in those 6 weeks. I was able to take her for walks without complete meltdowns (from both my dog and myself.) Whereas, before that, just the thought of maybe seeing or hearing another dog (or deer statue) would cause Laika to scream and alligator roll, and she couldn't finish the walk. Very quickly, Laika's energy also improved. She was a constant pacer and always on edge, and now she is much more relaxed. After our one-on-one training class we were able to do a small group training. I was amazed at how, even in small group, Melanie was able to cater the class to each individual dog's needs. When I contacted Melanie after that class was done, she fit me into her schedule, once again to do one-on-one training where we could fine tune some of Laika's behaviors. She came out to my house for some of it and for other sessions we met at her business where she had volunteer dogs waiting to help with Laika's training. Melanie does an amazing job making sure you have the tools to continue the training, and goes out of her way to give your dog the best environment in which to grow. I could not recommend her enough.

First three weeks of obedience training were ok. Training with too many treats. The next two, no training due to the trainer was "sick ". If I were running a business, I would have a backup plan, not have the customer wait. This interrupted the training not only for the dog but for the owner of the dog as well. Finally the third week I was able to go back and the owner decided to step in to do the training with no explanation of why the other trainer was still gone. Why couldn't they step in right away? My dog got screwed on the training as far as I'm concerned. Never going back to this place.
