Sad to say I really felt compelled to come write an update here. Bruce is a very nice man, and his crew are hard working guys - they do a good job and do what they're told by their boss. Unfortunately it seems like Mr. Donovan is just not 'into' running his business anymore. Virtually no communication, voicemails that go un-responded to, emails that NEVER get responded to. One big example - Mr. Donovan sent us a contract for the start of this season - which we never signed. I'd left him several voicemails letting him know that due to communication challenges I would not be using his services. Two weeks later (thankfully I was home) I see a Donovan truck pull up in front of my house, his guys offloading mowers ready to go. I explained to them as best I could with my broken spanglish that we would not be using Donovan, that Bruce was aware, and that I was very sorry because they were great guys - gave them bottles of water and sent on their way. Sadly they did not seem surprised by the news. Mr. Donovan, if you read these, I want to be clear: I'm pulling for you and your team. You need to figure out how to get yourself organized. I have been trying to find out where they were for my elderly father as they just stopped showing up after years of service! The voicemail is full or not working depending on the day I try to call and there is no email listed. These guys are not dependable and impossible to reach. These guys don't mess around. Communication and efficiency are their middle names! I contacted Donovan Lawncare for a newly bought home that needed A LOT of landscaping. Weekly maintenance of trims and spraying for poison ivy and weeds was just the beginning. I ended up needing a few very tall trees cut down in the back yard and one in the front as well, and Donovan's crew has it all done in one day! A large team of men and women came in and wiped the backyard clean of enormous trees and over grown bushes and weeds. They left everthing spotless and clean and my yard looking like it's 5x bigger than before. This is a top notch company that I highly recommend and will be using for all my lawn care needs! read more

Hired Bruce on a Angi List recommendation. Could not be happier. Weeded and cut out a 6' x 30' bed in my back yard. Installed 5 yards of top quality mulch. Re-set 2 large sections of patio pavers. Sent an email and left several messages, tried one last time, and finally got through. I explained to Bruce I only needed two bushes in the front of the house trimmed up and then the mess made raked up - a job which would only take half an hour at most. He said he'd take a look and get back to me later that day. After not hearing for three days, I called and left another message. Carol called me back and gave me a quote of $800 because the yard required a lot of work and would take four hours. I reiterated I just wanted the two bushes trimmed, and she told me that if her trucks were going to be in my yard, they weren't going to do a "half-assed" job. I cannot believe how rude she was! Needless to say, they won't be doing any job, let alone a half-assed one. The only reason I called Donovan's was because my late husband had a relationship with Bruce, and Bruce was a nice guy - obviously if I had to deal with Carol in the past, I never would have called them. Incidentally, within an hour, I got quotes from other landscaping companies for a reasonable $125, and one who said if they could throw the trimmings in my dumpster, he'd run over and do it for free! read more

Called many times and left messages. Nobody ever picked up or returned my calls. It's a shame because of how close they are but there are plenty of other fish in the sea. I hope other people have better luck with this company. read more

In the Spring, I reached out to Donovan Lawncare for a yard cleanup. Bruce came by for an estimate at which time I told him that I would let him know once I received estimates from a couple other companies. I ultimately decided to hire them and emailed and called them numerous times to negotiate on the price, but I never heard back so I ended up hiring someone else. I just reached out to them again for a Fall yard cleanup and Bruce was scheduled to stop by for an estimate. 10 minutes before his scheduled arrival time I received a call from Carol informing me that he would not be coming by and that they did not want our business! I tried to find out why but she was extremely rude and condescending and it was one of the worst interactions I've ever had with any company, especially one who i was trying to give business to! Apparently they were insulted that i wanted to get other estimates and negotiate in the Spring and in no uncertain terms, told me to hire someone else. For anyone looking to hire them, make sure you decide on the spot and don't compare with other companies otherwise you'll never hear from them again. If they treat someone who's looking to hire them this way, then i can only imagine what they would be like once they get your money. Stay away, there's plenty of other landscaping companies that treat their customers with courtesy and respect. read more
