Any business that treats a potential customer like they're doing them a favor truly isn't worth it. The new owner came to my house, sent a proposal for a minimum of five trees - which I agreed to - and scheduled delivery/installation for the end of the week. I even took two days off (Thursday & Friday) to accommodate their arrival. He never showed. No call. No email. Nothing. Only after I reached out did I get a half-baked apology and a promise for "next week." Once bitten, twice shy - I didn't rearrange my schedule again. And surprise, surprise... he didn't show then either. After multiple calls and multiple trips back to their nursery, I finally decided to walk away. I genuinely wanted to support a local business, especially since I'd heard good things back when the old owner and James' father ran the place. Whatever this new operation is, it's not that. The scheduling is loose, vague, and entirely for their convenience, with zero regard for the customer's time. And when they don't meet even their own open-ended commitments, there's still no remorse - almost as if avoiding accountability is the business model. I am a Warren resident who recently purchased (8) Leyland Cypress trees from Truesdale Nursery to enhance my property's greenery. Unfortunately, this purchase turned into a nightmare, leaving me out of pocket and disappointed. Despite paying an outrageous $1,324 on April 6th for what I was assured were top-grade, healthy trees, the reality was different. The trees were delivered on April 10th and by the end of the month, four of the eight trees were already showing distress, with yellowing foliage and clear signs of unhealthiness. Concerned, on May 3rd, I contacted Truesdale Nursery for assistance, providing pictures of the four unhealthy trees. They inquired about my watering schedule, soil moisture, and adherence to planting instructions, to which I confirmed compliance. Despite reducing watering as they had recommended, by May 9th, the trees had only worsened and were slowly dying. Requesting a refund or replacement seemed like a reasonable request given the circumstances, but the owner's response was dismissive and infuriating. He had suggested that I had not watered the trees properly, despite my meticulous adherence to their planting and care instructions. I mentioned to them I have a total of (32) Leyland Cypress trees, (24) of them are from various nurseries, all of which were planted and watered the same way and are thriving. Despite my evidence of proper care and experience, they blamed me, refusing any responsibility or refund, citing a lack of guarantee on their plants. Their lack of accountability is utterly appalling, this is not a reputable or trustworthy business model. It is disheartening to see a local business prioritize profit over customer satisfaction and integrity. Losing $662 on four sickly trees is disappointing, as was the loss of trust and confidence I once had in Truesdale Nursery. Their exorbitant prices are unjustifiable, especially when compared to other nurseries in the area offering healthier specimens at a fraction of the cost (typical cost is $99/tree). I had hoped to continue supporting Truesdale Nursery in the future, but their blatant disregard for customer concerns has completely soured my opinion of them. Based on my experience, I would recommend saving yourself the trouble and avoiding Truesdale Nursery. Explore alternative local nurseries in your area and other sources such as Home Depot or online sites such as Fast-Growing-Trees. Not only will you find healthier plants but also a money-back guarantee on what you are purchasing. I've had a really above and beyond experience with Truesdale landscaping. I did not know what to plant on my front yard, or when to plant it so I posted on a community forum asking for advice. Barbara Wahl reaches out to me and spent literally hours guiding me through choices of plants and pros and cons of each option. It felt like she genuinely cared about my front yard and the look of the plants I would use to decorate it. Everything is finally picked out and I can't wait to get started next spring. 5 Stars!!! We live in the area and happened to stumble across Truesdale Nursery and we could not be happier. Everyone has been so pleasant to deal with. We initially met with Arlene who was so easy to talk to and was exceptionally patient and helpful. She took her time to talk to us and plan our landscaping design. She described each plant in detail on how to care for them and maintain them. We even set up for delivery of our plants for the same week. A few days later we decided That we wanted to change the layout and we had the pleasure to meet with Barbara who was so friendly, patient and helpful. Barbara helped us us come up with new ideas and redesign our landscape. Two days later on the day of our delivery she even volunteered us to FaceTime her after hours to help us decide on exact placement. The plants and beautifully maintained here at Truesdale Nursery and are reasonably priced. We decided to check out Home Depot to compare prices and noticed that Truesdale even had healthier plants and better prices. The customer service that we received was beyond what we expected and going forward we will remain loyal customers. We highly recommend Truesdale Nursery for whatever landscaping needs you may have. The key terms that would be a representation of their services are - unreliable, misrepresentation of services quoted and service provided, badly execution of the work requested. Not only did this landscaper charge for work that was never done, but I was mislead into thinking they would keep up their end of the contract. Very disappointed with the customer service I received at the South Avenue location in Plainfield NJ. I purchased a Crepe Myrtle Tree last May. When it didn't bloom that August I called to question if I actually bought the right tree. I was told to wait until next spring that sometimes tress can delay blooming after planting. Spring is almost gone my tree is dead. I was told too bad I missed the complaint time line and the guy who told me this was actually here illegally. What does have to do with my tree? read more

Ordered 12 evergreen trees and agreed on a delivery delivery date. Two days before that date, the manager texted me and said they would be delivering them a day early. I protested saying that I would not be home until late. She stated "what's the difference, it's only one day". I kept protesting, but the trees were delivered. This was a problem as I was home late, had to move the trees that day. Not what I would call customer friendly. Would not purchase from again. . Every two days different price.!! Mulch and topsoil one week one price, second week different price.!!! On their flyers that I received it said free delivery with no expiration date. But when I got there they said no free delivery?? Price is sky high. And also I bought some bushes and trees and after two weeks I wanted to exchange one of the bushes and I spoke to two sisters and a husband of one of the sisters running the business One sister told me that the return policy was one week and the other sister told me that the return policy was within 24 hours??? I asked them to show me on the receipt about the return policy and there is no such clause saying that!! I was in touch with Truesdale Nursery and Landscaping in early May this year in regards to a drainage problem. I spoke to Arlene who at first was attentive and responsive. She came out to the house to see the problem and to give Ralph, the owner a report of what needed to get done. Up until that meeting she seemed nice and professional, the follow up however was another story. We tried scheduling for Ralph and his team to come out but the only time they could I happened to be out of town. I told Arlene I needed to be present since the water has gotten into the right side of our garage and this is an important area for Ralph to determine where the problem is coming from. I have been trying ever since to get an appointment and we are almost in July! Have called a few times and even sent an email but no answer. I have been in the Management business for 27 years,,, about 1 year ago we started using a property that was in contract with Truesdale Landscaping and Snow removal. I was using another company with a different property that was not happy with the results. We hired Truesdale, the difference in the property is amazing.. In 1 year the property's appearance has significantly improved. Their customer service is amazing , their digital graphics they provide prior to planting gives a visual for all to view prior to planting or changes. I recommend Truesdale whole heartedly and without reservation. The entire team is composed of professionals with a passion for their craft. They have the knowledge, experience and expertise to handle all aspects of any project from landscaping (including design, installation and maintenance) to lawn care (including fertilization, pest and disease prevention, core aeration, and cutting the grass) to drainage and grading to hardscapes to tree maintenance. I can't say enough about all the times that the staff at Truesdale has gone above and beyond to make sure that the very best care was taken of my landscaping. The pear trees in front of my home are healthy and well manicured when many neighbors have lost huge limbs from weather related damage over the last several years. The beds around my house are pleasing to the eye virtually year round and don't even get me started on the grass. Glenn is a master turf builder. Thanks to his attention to the needs of our lawn, it is lush, green and uniform all season long. If I ever have a question or a special request, a quick call to Paula in the office results in an immediate response. I especially appreciate the professionalism of each crew that works at my home. They are friendly and considerate; they take care of my property as if it were their own. The lady that answered the phone was quite pleasant and set me up with an appointment to talk to Ralph. The 1-star here is for that lady, if not for her, no stars. Ralph never showed at the appointment time. You have to love when this happens, not even a phone call. I even called them back and left a voicemail. No return phone call. If you like wasting your days off for unprofessional contractors not to show, truesdale landscaping maybe the company for you. I would recommend Scape-abilities if you need full design and architecture/hardscaping. We were searching fo a tree this fall and couldn't decide what kind to buy. They were very patient and spent time showing us the different varieties that met our requirements. Once we selected a tree they came to plant it when promised and went over how to care for it with us.
