We made the mistake of buying from DON'S APPLIANCES. They are the worst company, we have ever dealt with. They do not have any business ethics or any human decency. SMELLING SMOKE and RUBBER from a NEW MICROWAVE OVEN is a SAFETY ISSUE! PERIOD! According to the lies from WHIRLPOOL they replace the item accordingly. But instead. they script ALL their employees to do that and go through the long arduous, torture of verifying, clarifying, endlessly and then sending two teenage boys to retrieve the microwave. These boys could not even lift the microwave from the wall themselves. My husband had to help them. My throat is still affected by the microwave fumes. I am worried about my SMALL DOGS who have gagged a few times since the fumes permeated our kitchen and family room. Our issue is still not resolved. All this duress over being a trusting customer!!! All this stress and damage they will do to people over a 200-dollar microwave!!! I suggest people demand better ethics for our hard-earned dollars. I am sorry to see some 1 star ratings for Don's. We just completed a complete gut kitchen remodel with all new appliances and could not have gotten better service then we did at Don's. Great appliance selection, scheduling was prompt and they confirmed the day before and showed up on time and worked with installation issues we had with the contractor - recessed frig, outlets in the wrong place, etc. In particular we had an issue where we ordered a Thermador range - and when it arrived it was not what we thought (we had looked at the 36" display model but we ordered the 30" model which was not the same - no digital controls). Don's took it back no questions asked and we exchanged it for a Jenn Air plus got the difference in price back. I can't say enough about the service I got from Matt (one of the owners or East Liberty store manager- ?) and Laura in the East Liberty store. And our contractor comparison shopped to Lowes and said Don's prices were better. We need to replace our washer and dryer this summer and will go to Don's read more

I recently purchased a new dishwasher from a large chain hardware store. I should have known better. After 3 weeks, I still had a partially installed dishwasher with a bent door and I was informed by the local store manager that it was because of the tile floor. I knew better than that since the 3rd party contractors that they hired appeared to be "Learning on the job". I called up Don's Appliances and asked them if they employed their own contractors. I was delighted to hear that they did since the other store was telling me that no one did that anymore! I purchased a dishwasher and it was at my house and fully installed within 3 business days. The installers were courteous and knowledgeable and the new dishwasher is running like a charm. I'll be calling Don's first the next time I need a new appliance and keep the hardware store for buying nuts & bolts! read more

I went to Don's looking for an appliance believing that the company would have strong vendor relationships, so that when the time came there would not be issues finding parts to fix. I have been waiting 6 weeks to have my appliance that is not even 4 years old fixed. The washing machine was working when the Don's technicians arrive to fix the repair, by the time they left the washer was 100% out of service. I have spent a couple of hundred dollars and many hours at laundromat, including Thanksgiving weekend. Don's did bring me a loaner that also doesn't work. The best part of the experience was one of the various "managers" (Hildebrand) phoned me, did not listen to the issues, yelled at me and told me I was being unreasonable. If you want to be treated disrespectfully and purchase expensive appliances that cannot be serviced you should go to Don's. read more

I have purchased several appliances from Don's Appliances over the years and have always been impressed with their vast selection and knowledgeable staff. They have also been very competitivly priced offerering get Great Value! Recently we had some service issues for a washing machine we had purchased a few years ago. After contacting Don's I learned that the machine was no longer under warranty. Don's not only stood behind their product they replaced it at only the charge of the service visit which I had already paid. They were under no obligation to do this because the warranty clearly expired, but they insisted that they would stand behind their product. It is very rare that you find integrity such as this these days! I commend Don's Appliances for their Service and commitment to their customers! Our KitchenAid dishwasher broke on 16 Feb. It was 26 years old so we decided to buy a new one. We found a KitchenAid model we wanted so we checked both Home Depot and Lowes. Bothe carried it but were out of stock until late March. I decided to check with Don's Appliances. I found the identical KitchenAid model for almost 50% off the cost of the two stores mentioned above. With installation, delivery, haul away, parts, and a 5-year warranty, Don's total price was cheaper than the sale price of the unit alone at the other two stores. We saved $559.00. I ordered it on 17 Feb. It was delivered and installed on 19 Feb. The two service men completed the entire installation process in less than 30 minutes. We could not be more pleased with Don's value and service. read more

We just did a major kitchen renovation and worked with Keith at Don's Appliance for all our appliances. He was very knowledgeable and helpful at guiding us through all options. He's also available for any questions we had along the way. On Friday we had all the appliances delivered and installed by Jeramy, Greg W, Nick and Joe P -- again we could not have been happier. They were all friendly and knowledgeable of the products. They took their time during installation, making sure all were installed and working properly. We recently renovated our kitchen and chose our appliances from Don's Appliance. Kristian Trapl was extremely helpful and made very good suggestions about the functionality of certain brands. In addition, he followed up quickly on some installation issues, and resolved them in a timely fashion so that the contractor could remain on schedule. I have been very pleased with the overall customer service, including a home visit by Chef Anthony who gave my husband and me great tips on using our new convection steam oven. Yesterday was my first time at one of the Don's Appliances locations. Everyone was so helpful knowledgeable, and pleasant. Thier show room makes it so easy to see how the appliances are going to look in a real kichen appliacation. They even had design background knowledge and gave me some great tips! From the cup of coffee to when I walked in to them fitting me in for the exact time and day I needed delivery, my expereience was excellent. Thank you Don's Appliance McKinight Road, Pittsburgh, PA for being absolutely awesome! I have a very old house with a very narrow stairway to the basement. Not only did they have like the only flat back electric dryer in Western PA, but their delivery charge was really reasonable (like half of what SEARS wanted)! I can't remember what the names of the delivery guys were, but they were there when they said they'd be, were meticulous about getting everything set up just the way and where I wanted, and they were very professional!! Josh and Jeramy from Don's came to deliver our new washing machine. They were so courteous and careful with our home as they brought it up to the second floor. Before they installed the machine they noticed that our dryer was hooked up incorrectly and there was also lint all over the back and floor.
