We went in looking for a new mattress, a challenging product to buy, and came out with an order for a tempur-pedic. We had 120 days to test and exchange. After a good try, we just didn't like it - I felt stuck in it if I tried to change position and a bit hot. I called to ask about how to go about exchanging and the person on the phone was a little rude. If you have an exchange option, please don't be rude when it's requested. We went in to choose a new one and luckily Ray helped us out. He was so kind about the exchange, so patient as we tried other options, and so helpful with our questions. We ordered a more traditional Stearns & foster with super duper springs and had our first sleep on it last night. It was so much better, we're so happy we went through the process of the exchange, and so glad we got to deal with Ray. read more

I walked into Levin's and saw the Tempur-pedic mattresses. Kyle one of the associates at the mattress store came over to help me. He was extremely knowledgeable! It was not a hard sell he just told me the difference between all the mattresses. I decided on the Tempur-pedic breeze adjustable mattress. He went out of his way to make sure the delivery went smoothly. He explained to me how the warranty worked and controls on the adjustable base work . We had a few phone calls back-and-forth where I had more questions and he was willing and eager to answer them. I ended up getting the pillows and the cooling mattress pad cover. The lightning pillows are amazing and this mattress pad cover is super comfortable. Now for the mattress. This is the Mercedes-Benz of mattresses it is the top-of-the-line super comfortable. I am a hairdresser and I have pain while I'm sleeping I can roll over in this mattress and every part of my body is super supportive and nothing hurts. Went to Levins for a new mattress. The one I got from Mattress Firm a few years ago was absolutely the worst bed I've ever slept on. Supposed to be very firm; after just a few years it was wavy like the ocean! So armed with substantial $$ and during a sale, I was determined to get a good night's sleep. The BeautyRest on sale was okay, but I was concerned about its longevity. I asked for the next price up and next firmness up. It was a Sealy. I've had this brand before and liked it. Trying it was a task. They're made so high! I have to really climb to get on it. But it was soo wonderfully firm. Now 2 things I've learned: 1 box springs are no longer thrown in automatically, and 2 if you want free disposal- get it in writing. The salesman told me I'd get it but the delivery guys said only if it's written on the receipt after getting permission. So far bed is good, gotta get a step for it. I'm happy. read more

My boyfriend and I recently stopped in here for a mattress fitting and could not have had a more pleasant experience! The salesperson (Dan was his name I believe) took the time to understand what our needs were and did a wonderful job explaining the technical differences between each mattress we tried. This is a process I can imagine being rather awkward, but it ended up being a painless and even fun experience. We left having found just the right mattress and wanting the epic pillows we laid on as well! I'd gladly go back to another Levin location for more furniture shopping if the customer service and the overall vibe is always this great. P.S. My husband and I purchased our first mattress from Levin less than 5 years ago and in that time we have had technicians out five times and found that four of those times our mattresses were defective enough to be replaced. I don't understand how we can go through five mattresses and five years even after we replaced our box springs and bed banking that was the issue. All we want at this point is a refund so we can move on to a different mattress company but live in instead wants to replace our mattress every 6 months. At this point after our 20-year warranty we're going to have 40 mattresses from Levin. read more

This weekend, I was moving into the city for grad school. I was exhausted, and I needed a mattress before I could even think about resting. Myleek not only helped me find exactly what I was looking for in my price range, he did it without any sort of hard sell or deflection away from what I asked for, knew all available stock off the top of his head, and helped me with everything I needed to tie the mattress on the the roof of my car, all while giving several other customers the same personalized attention. And did I mention this was all during a power-outage that had knocked out their system and phone lines, while he was alone in the store? Myleek handled himself with amazing composure, cheer and customer service during what was obviously a busy weekend, and clearly a stressful time. This store is, without a doubt, the nicest mattress store I have ever seen. I find that mattress stores are usually stark, dismal places that I can't wait to leave. Not this one! I'd describe it as a very tastefully decorated, warm, and relaxing place to shop for beds and bedroom furniture. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I was in no hurry to leave. When I did leave it was with a fantastic bed. I got a Grand Legacy Ultimate Plus King set. I could not be happier. This bed is incredibly comfortable and supports every curve. I don't feel any pressure on my back and shoulders on this bed. It truly is plush to the body and to the eye - it's too pretty to cover with sheets! This is the best bed I've ever slept on. I highly recommend the Grand Legacy Ultimate Plus and I highly recommend Levin Mattress in Shady Side. read more

Do not buy the Grand Legacy mattress. This mattress is complete garbage. We originally bought this mattress less than three years ago. Within one year the mattress needed to be replace. It became so uncomfortable to sleep in. My wife and my back really started hurting because the mattress broke down and started giving us no support. We felt like we were being swallowed by the mattress. We called levin and they sent someone out to inspect the mattress. They ended up replacing the mattress and within another year the mattress broke down again and we are now in the same situation. This bed is not worth the money. We are going to see if we can get the mattress replaced a again. If not we are going to go with a sleep number. read more

Such a bad customer experience, these guys flip out on service and are a master of fraudulent schemes. They sold me a accidental coverage plan and when I went back to claim then the lady tells me that this is not covered while the sales person clearly told us that everything is covered a s even a small cut or blemish would be taken care by our "expert" customer service and when you call them up and they simply deny your claim. I would have given 0 stars if that was an option. People of Pittsburgh- NEVER BUY FROM ANY LEVIN STORE!!! Just a brief history, I purchased a couch (3+2) from this Levin store and also purchased accidental coverage along with it, we met with a small accident while shifting the sofa and the service agent says that moving is not covered in the damages and decline the claim, instead offered to return the money for accidental coverage and told me to talk to a 3rd party repair company, basically shutting me off. After a 22 min call all I got statements i.e. "call this repair lady to get your sofa repaired" and "take the insurance money back so that you don't bother us anymore" The lady was even satirical on the call and when I requested to talk to Manager she told me that there is no one above her that I can talk to. read more

I hate going into mattress stores because everything is always way more expensive than I think it's going to be and way more expensive than I can afford. Thus, I have been looking for a new bed for about a year. I tried everything, from Craigslist to Ikea to discount mattress stores. After having several bad experiences, I went to Levin. What a difference! After describing what kind of mattress I was looking for, Mike was able to guess within 3 tries which bed I would like in the store. He was exactly right! He is incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the Grand Legacy line. And I can see why. It's arguably the most comfortable bed I've ever tried. But equally important, he really empathized with the negative experiences that I've had in the past and tried to help me make the right choice. He never tried to sell me 'extras' and I never felt taken advantage of. Overall it was a great experience. I highly recommend this store to all of my friends. And if for some reason I have to buy a bed sometime in the next 30 years, I will definitely be heading back to Levin. read more

Bought a mattress and base for over$3000. For the mattress warranty, you have to pay an extra $115 for their mattress cover. The cover is huge. No way to tuck it in and the wrinkles from it will make sleeping uncomfortable. Called the store. Maleek the sales person tells me to tuck it in. I said that is impossible. He says they will not take it back and if I don't use it the mattress will not be under warranty. What a dishonest way to do business! read more
