My wife and I were charging our car in Tucumcari and looking for a donut for breakfast. A quick search brought up Donut Pro a couple miles away that would allow us to drive through town and see the old motels on Route 66. They have a drive-up window but we went inside to gaze at the selections. The aromas were wonderful as they make the donuts in the same building. We were immediately taken by their kolaches, hot dogs in a donut. What could be better. We each got one to try along with a regular donut. I got a spicy kolache that was yummy and barely spicy I would say. My wife got a regular kolache that she enjoyed. My extra donut was a glazed lemon filled and it was great. My wife was jealous as I let her try a bite. Her chocolate covered buttermilk one was good but not as good as my lemon one. The folks working here were super friendly and nice. We chatted a bit before paying and hitting the road. Our total bill came to a little over $7. We thought maybe he missed something but he said he got it all. This place is a joke ! Spouse went at 5Am and NOT opened , the door wasn't opened and with back light on and website said 5Am and a car in the parking lot. So waited until 6Am and only a few selection (no donut holes , no long johns , cinnamon twist or cinnamon rolls).. plus tasted like day old donuts too . you don't come to work at 5Am and then start making donuts . Thanks for the crappy start of the day but I'm grateful to be alive and much worse things could happen but please get your crap together and run a business right! read more

Donuts here are perfectly cooked fluffy pillows of delight! This is how you do classic donuts. Really some of the best I've ever had. You can even get your long john stuffed with white or Bavarian cream. Do it! My only complaint is selection is inconsistent and a bit limited. They were no jelly filled. The only old fashioned were chocolate glazed, while I only like plain. They also have large kolaches and two types of breakfast burritos I have yet to try. The couple running the place are very friendly and helpful, though communication can be difficult. Drive thru is convenient but backs up. Prices are right. This beats Krispy Kreme hands down. We were hungry and looking for something for breakfast. Donut Pro popped up and we decided to give it a try. They had a good selection of donuts and also kolaches, bacon or sausage and egg croissants, and breakfast burritos. We decided to get bacon and egg croissants, a sausage breakfast burrito, donut holes, a bear claw, and 2 white iced donuts with sprinkles. The donuts were delicious. They were quite airy and soft. If we ever go back, we will get more of the donuts. They hit the spot! However, the other food was not to our taste. The sausage breakfast burrito was premade with a lot of egg and a very little bit of sausage. It also was small. They did heat it up and included a cup with a little bit of salsa. The bacon on the croissants was very sweet. I'm not sure what type of bacon that was, but it was not what we like. The egg was peppered and thin. The croissant was tasty. The lady who helped us was very friendly and quick. She made sure the hot items were hot. She packaged each thing in an individual bag which was helpful for passing them out to everyone in the car. Overall, we would go there again for the donuts. read more

After reading all the good reviews we thought we'd found a good gem. Boy were we disappointed. These are some gross donuts. One of them was inedible it had such a funky bad oil taste. The long John eclair was passable but the custard pudding in the middle is unlike any custard I've ever tasted.
