They all have the same cookie cutter layout. The Resort is just off the main road, so it isn't so hard to find. It's sorta easy to get in and out of. There's a spot where the street narrows a bit, but that doesn't bother me at all. Parking spots are plentiful, and the people who run the place keep the streets tidy from the snow. They even have people shovel snow off in the morning as well. We had the back units, so it's a teeny tiny bit of a walk from the streets. I really don't mind that either, because after we were settled, we were pretty much good to go. Plus were able to cook our own food. Which means,, thrifty vacay!! Location is key, and being right next to the slopes is super awesome. Just wake up, walk over, buy tickets and enjoy snowboarding. God truly makes an awesome planet.

Meandering through the caves and caverns is the main highlight in the summer (as well as spring and fall). All caves and caverns follow a structured path, and everything is clearly well marked. They also have mini golf, gemstone mining, hiking trails, and adventure playground for the warmer months. In the winter, it's great for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sauna. They have a nordic pro shop where you can purchase or rent equipment. The gift shop, which doubles as a small cafe selling hot drinks and snacks, also carries winter activity essentials, ranging from base layers to gloves and toques. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We rented their snowshoes, and they were of excellent quality (with spikes at the bottom to help crush ice, which became very helpful as the trails were quite icy that day). The snowshoe trails are mostly loops and very clearly well marked - it's impossible to get lost.

But the day we went was on and off rain, and it turns out the train is battery/electric run so it does not operate unless the ground is completely dry. Wish we would have known this beforehand as the entry fee is kind of hefty if the one thing your kid was excited for didn't end up operating. They require closed toe hiking or running shoes to enter. The suspension bridge trail and the caves trail were really neat. If you have a toddler 2 or under you might need to carry them part of the caves trail as there are some tricky slippery spots. The suspension bridge trail is much easier and you get a great view from the bridge. The playground is big and fun. You can also buy fish food (25 cents) to feed the fish, though you're more likely to get gulls fighting over the fish food than to see any fish. We did see a big trout though which was neat! Besides the train not operating, and the kind of cold and wet weather, this would have been a great summer day activity. They let you bring your own food inside to have a picnic. And once you get your wristband you have in and out privileges all day which was nice. We wiuld have enjoyed this more if it was warmer and not raining.

We stayed for one night at the Weider Lodge in the Blue Mountain village this past weekend and we…read morehad a pretty decent time overall. Granted it's hard to get a true sense of a hotel from just one night, we still felt pretty happy with our stay. We managed to get a deal on a 1 bedroom suite, which for 2 people is reasonably priced (slightly higher end) between $220-280 for the night. Our suite came with a separate bedroom (with King bed) and a pullout couch (double/Queen sized) which easily could have accommodated another couple. If you had 4 people in this room the price becomes even more reasonable AND there is more than enough space. I really like a few things about this location; 1) it's the accommodation in the village closest to the main chairlift, 2) Our suite overlooked the pool and hot tub areas to the interior of the lodge, and 3) we had a balcony suite which was nice for sitting outside. The room and building was very clean, everything was fully operational and it was quite (could also have been a factor of the time of year. A couple of things I found odd included; 1) There was a front desk in the lobby but at no time was there anyone managing said desk, you actually had to check-in for your stay at another hotel entirely and then make your way over, 2) Being closes to the hill means it is also furthese from the above ground parking and underground parking was apparently out of order or under construction, and 3) Our HVAC system was a bit on the fritz and the temperature regulation was way off (at one point the room topped out at 76F). Definitely a good stay, a comfortable bed and lots of space, I'd definitely request to stay here in the future.

The rooms were very clean and most have a little balcony overlooking small falls. We observed a few Hawks in the area which was amazing. The restaurant creates excellent food! View the menu. The owners and staff are very friendly and accommodating. The hot tub is enormous and we had it pretty much to ourselves in the evenings. I stayed here with my daughter (age 20) and we enjoyed hiking trails on the property, meals at the Inn and drove to some nearby Towns to explore and dine as well. The breakfast was excellent and if you like Eggs Benny... OMG!! The Inn is perfect for weddings, family get togethers, hanging with the girls/boys or just chilling out with a loved one. We will be back for sure!!

Cozy Place! Great Service!…read more This is the second year in a row that I've stayed here - girls weekend getaway! We originally chose to stay here for the Spa package, location and room availability. We had a great experience during our first stay and decided to come back again this year. One of the key reasons we chose to stay here was for the Scandinave Spa package. Going to the spa was the main event of our trip. With this package, we got a spa entrance time slot (early afternoon) and avoided the waitlist upon arrival. We were also provided a comfy robe and water bottle through the Inn. Check In: Check in was seamless. We drove up to the main house (also where breakfast is served) and we were greeted once we walked in. Everyone was very friendly. We were able to check in right away. We got our spa bags, a map of the grounds and some general information (i.e. Wi-Fi, best/least gravel-y roads, etc). We were then showed/oriented to our room (which was located in another building) and the Inn's facilities. Room: We stayed in "Duntroon Croft". Previously, we stayed in "Ben Nevis Croft". Both similar. Cozy room with country cottage feel. We were a group of four and the room was a perfect size. The room was two-stories (loft and main floor). Loft had two twin beds and there was also a king bed on the main level of the room. There was a Jacuzzi tub in the room and also a shower. The room had a seating area in front of the TV, a fireplace, a mini fridge and a shared balcony. There was complimentary pop, popcorn and bubbly! There was also a communal area in the building, on the same floor as our room, with seating, games, DVDs, microwave, etc. Property: Beautiful views! Coming from the city, this was very refreshing. Grounds seemed well maintained. There was a saltwater swimming pool with seating and also a hot tub. We enjoyed using both. There were other amenities too, like a gym, but we didn't use them. We explored the grounds a bit - there were horses, reindeer, etc. - and more, that we didn't have a chance to see. Also, our building had two cute little dogs that were very friendly and sociable.   Location: Again, really beautiful views and scenery! Just as a heads up, some of the surrounding roads are gravel and it can get quite dark when driving at night. This didn't bother my group, but is just different if you are used to city roads which are well lit and paved. Also, our GPS got a little funny when getting close to the Inn but there's a noticeable sign when you pull up to the grounds - you won't miss it! It's about a 20-minute drive away from Blue Mountain Village (fun to explore and get dinner) and the Scandinave Spa. Food: Breakfast was included and very yummy! I believe breakfast was 0800-1000. Each morning there was a buffet set up with a fruit platter, yogurt, pastries, etc. One morning, we had omelettes (delicious) which were made for us once we arrived for breakfast. Another morning was more of a buffet style with sausage, scrambled eggs and thick French toast set out! There was coffee on the tables too. Everyone was very friendly - we were greeted right away, offered juice, checked in on, etc. Very accommodating and felt homey. No other meals were provided for us so we brought some snacks and ate out in Blue Mountain Village and Collingwood. Wi-Fi: Included! Just as a heads up, I lost service when pulling up to the Inn and rarely got service during my stay. Not a big deal for me and again, there was Wi-Fi. Overall, very enjoyable experience. Very homey, intimate and country feel. Very calm, quiet and not overcrowded. Opposite from the busy city vibes that I'm used to, which some may or may not like depending on what you are looking for (I personally loved it for this reason). Yummy breakfast included. Great getaway for a group of friends - I also think it would be great for couples too!

There are a very gentlemen-like rooster, chickens, Iceland horses and ring deers. There is a wood-burning fire place in the guest room. The room decoration is just a simple country style. There was nothing too fancy. There are 8 guest rooms in the property we were staying as per information provided by Linda who is the owner of this country inn. She was so nice showing us 3 other guest rooms in another property just located 3 minutes walk away. These 3 guest rooms are all gorgeously decorated with in-room Jacuzzi bath tubs. Clare who came from southern part of France cooked us a very full and delicious breakfast with lots of freshly cut fruits, bread and pastries, French toasts, bacons and boiled eggs, etc. The complimentary bottle waters, pops and sparkling wine made us feel so welcoming! The Inn has a small DVD library. Room guests can borrow DVD movies to play in the bedroom. The phone reception was bad around the area. However, the free wifi and free fixed line phone calls solved the issue. Linda said that her hubby is going to install a satellite on the roof to improve the phone reception. We booked a spa package. Therefore, we were given a bathrobe and a bottle of water each for our day spa at Scandinave Spa. One downside of this Country Inn is that it is located outside of Blue Mountain. It was a 30 minutes drive from Petty River Valley Country Inn to Scandinave Spa and Blue Mountain Village. I drove all the way in the dark, and really dark, at night after dinner returning to the Inn. However, it was a different and good experience other than staying at a modern hotel!

The…read moreBest Western was by far the least sketchy place to stay here, as a lot of the other lodging we looked at were older motels. At least Best Western does have the name behind it. They have one EV plug in here that is free to use but slower for charging. The guy that checked us into the hotel didn't really seem all there. This hotel is dog friendly and we had 2 pooches with us. It seems like they put most of the dogs on the first floor. The lobby had a microwave out there for common use and free coffee was laid out here in the morning. They have a restaurant here called Bishop's Landing that does all meals. As for the room, it was comfortable. It definitely could have been cleaner. There were rogue hairs everywhere in the bathroom, particularly the shower. For example, there were ones under the bathmat that waved hello as the water ran under it. The hotel is located right next to the marina and there are paths that you can take for a scenic stroll at sunset. Not the best stay but for one night, this would probably still be my go to place to stay in Owen Sound.

Instead of coming to me and asking me about the situation or trying to resolve any issue they terminated me at once without any cause. I found this extremely frustrating and unprofessional as well as them knowing I had already left my previous employment.

Our hosts Miriam and John were lovely and gracious, and the space was perfect for our needs. I had a hard time looking up places to stay in the area as I was in Michigan and it just seemed there was very little useful or well-organized information about housing or rentals online. I'm so glad I found this place! They were always prompt with answering emails and accommodating concerns and turned out to be an ideal place to stay. The home is very nice and well maintained. Very large! There must be 7 rooms I think, although not all for guests. It apparently used to be a county doctor's home in the past. There is a large common area on the main floor with a fireplace, but we didn't use it as our rooms had a great living area enclosed. The Crow's Nest room area at the top of the BnB is great for families or small groups as it has two adjoining rooms and a large living area and a tv and small balcony and well-equipped kitchen, and is great to just "hang out" and play games, catch up etc. The grounds here are beautiful! We played frisbee in the yard, lay in the hammock, chatted on the lovely deck. The lawn is very well maintained! There is a firepit, veggie patch. I haven't even had the breakfast yet (that's tomorrow morning) but the hosts were very accommodating with our requests for a diabetic meal for my mom. There is a restaurant down the street (Sulky Sam's) which came recommended from the hosts, which we enjoyed as well :) Nearby there are all the great things the Bruce trail and recreation area have to offer. Port Elgin is great for relaxed cookouts with the family, Sauble beach is right there, and then a scenic drive from Wiarton to Tobermory is not to be missed (Flower Pot Island, Chantry Island, etc). STAY HERE! We've stayed at BnB's in Mackinaw, Michigan and in Stratford, Ontario among other places - this is our favorite so far!

Miriam put me in contact with Sandra Howe from sole and spirit. Miriam was prompt in answering emails and worked with Sandra and I to make this an unforgettable experience for me. The home has a Victorian look and is well maintained. My room was on the main floor at the front. Its room was large with a comfortable bed, an ensuite and furnishing to match the time era. The grounds are well kept with gardens,a fire pit and a place to just relax. I enjoyed the hammock, the covered glider and chairs on the spacious deck out back. Miriam's breakfast was excellent what a cook. I'd recommend the restaurant down the street (Sulky Sam's) or the BBQ chicken dinner at the Legion. (a short walk away) A not to be missed spot is nearby Paisley. Sandra who provided my transportation to and from the bus station, shared the history of the area on the drive. I did a bike tour that was personalized to my needs and seen the Mills. The next day Miriam showed me the route to bike to Arron Lake, a scenic ride and relaxing spot. An excellent trip,all very affordable,no car or bicycle needed. Back to city life now.
