I ordered a frameless shower door for my lake home at Timber Pointe. That is NOT what Wilson's Home Products installed. Let me be perfectly clear: I never authorized Wilson's Home Products to install a different shower door. Period. After the installation, it became clear that the shower door installed was not the frameless door I had ordered. I then spoke with the installer and was told they could remove it and install the door I actually wanted -- except now it was going to cost me nearly DOUBLE the original quoted price. Even better, I was told removing the door they had already installed would leave holes in my shower tile. Think about that. They install a shower door that isn't what I ordered, and their solution is for ME to pay nearly twice as much to get what I originally wanted -- while potentially being left with holes in my tile from their first installation. I also had six guests coming to the lake house two weeks later, so having them tear everything back out and leave me without a shower door wasn't exactly a reasonable option. What did Wilson's Home Products offer me for accepting a door that wasn't what I ordered? NOTHING. No rebate. No discount. No price adjustment. Nothing. But here's the part that really tells you everything you need to know about my experience with this company. The owner, Troy, had absolutely no problem personally showing up at my lake house when he wanted to collect his money. He stood on my deck and told me he would speak with his sales rep, Greg, and call me back about the situation. That phone call never came. Apparently showing up to collect payment was worth the owner's time. Following through on his promise to call an unhappy customer wasn't. After I finally emailed the company about how poorly this was handled, I still didn't hear from Troy. Instead, I received a call from his assistant, Heather, who insisted that she and I had previously discussed changing the shower door because of its size. That conversation NEVER happened. My conversations with Heather were about scheduling. I never told her to change my order, and I never authorized her or anyone else at Wilson's Home Products to install a different shower door. When she continued insisting that this conversation happened, essentially calling me a liar, I hung up. I'm not going to argue with someone about a conversation that I know never took place. I've been in business for 22 years, and I understand that mistakes happen. I've made them myself. The measure of a company isn't whether it ever makes a mistake -- it's what the company does when it happens. Wilson's Home Products had every opportunity to make this right. Instead, I got a shower door I didn't order, a nearly doubled price to get what I originally wanted, the possibility of holes being left in my tile, absolutely no financial consideration whatsoever, a promised phone call from the owner that never happened, and then an argument with his assistant about a conversation I never had. And yes, I paid them in full. They got their money. I got a shower door I didn't order. If you're considering Wilson's Home Products, my advice is simple: GET EVERY SINGLE DETAIL IN WRITING BEFORE THEY ORDER OR INSTALL ANYTHING. And if something goes wrong, based on my experience, don't expect the owner to be nearly as eager to talk to you as he is to show up when it's time to collect payment. Absolutely terrible experience. I would never use Wilson's Home Products again, and I would never recommend them to anyone.
