I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Gavros and her team including Karen and Dr. Major. I made an appointment do to a severe toothache and Dr. Gavros got me antibiotics and pain medication over the weekend before my appointment when it was becoming unbearable and when I was seen they took care of me swiftly and eased all of my anxieties! They were extremely thorough, kind, and their office was completely safe and clean, adhering to all the safety protocols! They truly care about their patients and I am so grateful! Dr Gavros had been our family dentist for 10 years, but when the pandemic hit, she began blaming us for no-shows that weren't possible given we were out of town on business trips etc.. and on one occasion we cancelled because my son had a near drowning experience hours before, but she still insisted we pay with absolutely no sympathy. When we complained about her ridiculously exorbitant no-show fees, Dr Gavros admitted that her business was feeling a financial pinch, as if we all weren't feeling the same. Since then, our entire family has left her practice and she still bills us for false no shows because that's what she does, she nickel and dimes her patients. Furthermore, she gossips and complained about her patients, specifically her local Tiburon clientele. And finally, our new dentist requested our records twice with no results. I have now personally requested our family's records four times and still no records to this day. This has resulted in our young children potentially having to redo their X-rays and be exposed to unnecessary radiation exposure. This childish and extremely unprofessional behavior is beyond anything we've ever experienced with a medical professional in our lives. We've never written a negative review before but we wanted people to be warned. read more

I LOVE Dora! Dr Gavros was referred to me by several people when I first moved to Tiburon 3 years ago. I have had everything done from cleanings, fillings, crowns &veneers to Zoom teeth whitening with perfect results with every procedure! I live in Los Angeles now and travel to Tiburon when I have a d dental concern- she is that amazing! I just won't go anywhere else. I have moved a lot in my life and as a result have had many different dentists. Dr. Gavros's office is hands down my favorite. I can sometimes be a tough client to satisfy because especially when is comes to dentistry, I am always looking for excellent and not just-good-enough work. I've had a crown re-cement, a crown replacement (there really is such thing as a gorgeous crown) and a cleaning to date, and every time the staff has been welcoming, professional, thorough, knowledgeable and very sensitive to a minor health issue I have that sometimes makes going to the dentist a tad nervous-making. Like most, I have never particularly enjoyed going to the dentist, but Dr. Gavros and her staff offer such a high level of customer service I actually enjoy going to see them. My mother also had her teeth cleaned this week and reported having had an excellent experience. I was sorry to see the poster before mine had a bad experience, and I wasn't there so can't comment on her experience except to say, in the face of all the other 5 star reviews, it is clearly an anomaly against the backdrop of an almost flawless record. If you are looking for a dentist, I hope you will give Dr. Gavros and her staff a try. I feel confident you will not be disappointed. read more

Dr. Gavros is the best dentist we've had. She is our family dentist and I can't imagine going anywhere else!

It is outrageous for dentist to charge $150 for missing appointment to a patient who is over 75 years old.

This dentist deserves 5 stars. Her dentistry skills have been demonstrated to me a number of times in the past 8 years. I am a senior who has a crown, a bridge repaired. TMJ appliance, & recently a dental implant tooth. One of the things I particularly like is the dentist does not try to sell me on treatments that are not necessary. My old dentist wanted to replace my crowns. Dr, Gavros did not see any need for this. Now it is 8 years later and the crowns are still good.. However there was one situation where I ended up replacing the tooth. Her hygienist alerted Dr. Gavros she suspected I had a tooth rotting from the inside out. I was cautioned this tooth may not make it. It did not, but the tooth did live 2 more years. During my 8 years minor problems have occurred or there were occasions when I thought there may be a problem. In either case Dr. Gavros was there. If she was away she left her office in capable hands. Many of her staff have been with her for more than 5 years. They have been able to handle most of the problem I have encountered. Dr. Gavros is fantastic! I went in today to have two fillings replaced and it took less than 45 minutes. She's totally professional, very competent, and has great energy. Both the hygienist and dentist were rough with my dental treatment and it was just a cleaning and checkup. I'm used to hands and tools that have a gentler touch during dental work. In my opinion the dentist should be doing the cancer oral screening not the hygienist. read more

Dr. Gavros and her team are top notch. When I called I was in crisis with a broken off tooth and infection (ie a lot of pain) and the very professional Alberta eased my fears over the phone and got me booked that day. Dr. Gavros fixed my pain situation that day and referred me to an oral surgeon. After fixing my emergency situation with the oral surgeon I went back to Dr. Gavros to clear up other numerous issues - many of which were very visible and depressing to me initially, but now my teeth look very good - much better than I even thought possible. Throughout this process she worked efficiently and was very understanding and eased my dentist fears and also worked with me to complete the work on a timeline that made financial sense for me which was so very helpful. Her entire office was compassionate and helpful. I was totally depressed to have to go to the dentist but in the end it turned out great. I was so happy to get things fixed structurally but she made an extra effort to make sure everything looked good as well. Tamara her assistant is very skilled and seems to really help things run very efficiently while you're in the chair - they are a great team. Phoebe at the front desk is sweet, very capable, clear and helpful. Alberta is a pro and helped me navigate appts. and what my insurance plan covered and general questions. Their dental hygienist (forgot her name unfortunately) is also just great. I live in Tiburon but I think I would even travel to come here b/c they make you feel at ease and are pros at what they do. read more

Dr. Gavros has fit me with my invisalign braces. She has explained the process, and how it specifically applies to my mouth, in detail. She and her staff are warm, friendly, welcoming, and always make you feel like you are a valued, no - treasured, patient.
