I…read morewanted a Brazilian Keratin Treatment on my natural hair, but I decided to try them out with a wash and set first. They got my hair really straight, and at first I was really pleased with how straight they got my nautral hair! I was happy until the next time I washed my hair. Clumps of my hair came out. CLUMPS. Like ten 1-2 inch balls of hair all over the shower floor. And really long clumps, like it was either breaking from near the root or coming out like shedding. I nearly cried in the shower. My hair continued to shed like this for two more washings. :-( Flashback. The only thing I'd done differently to my hair in the past few days was go to this salon. I asked for a wash and set. The lady (not Rachel) washed my hair, my natural hair, very vigorously so as to knot it up. Mistake number one. Then, mistake number two, she tried to comb it from the root out! Yeah, that didnt work! All I heard was my hair snapping, snarling and breaking. I had to break out my Denman brush and show her the way. Then, in Spanish... and I hate this! I hate when they talk in Spanish around you. It's very rude. But I speak Spanish, so I understood her when she told the other hairdresser how tough my hair was. I'm thinking, "Oh boy, here we go again..." She then offered to put a "hot oil treatment" in my hair, for free! Rachel recommended it too. I obliged. Fast forward to the roller set. She needed help to roll my hair (too coily for her :-( ). Rachel took over at this point. Then when blow drying I keep hearing my poor strands snapping and breaking. The end result was typical, dead straight and really flat with a little curl at the end and lots of shining oils. I'm not a fan. :-( But I pay the bill and tip her well. Then the next time I wash my hair, it fell out in clumps and the texture was different. It was more rough and a lot less coily. Some parts were wavy. I'm positive it was the "hot oil treatment" that caused the clumps of hair to fall out. Anyhow, that was my first and last experience with them. You have been warned!!! BTW, this experience was in July 2011.

I had an unfortunate experience with another hair salon and my hair broke off very bad around the edges leaving me with a couple of spots that were left bald. I was very distraught. I heard of a salon called Coiffure Imagez in Laurel, MD and decided to give her a call just to look at my hair not even to wash or try to repair the damage. After I spoke with Deanna, she was so calming on the phone and told me to come in that day and she would access the damage. After I got there with my better half, she instantly made us feel better. She not only told us what was wrong with my hair but what she could do the very next morning to correct my hair (which was her day off due to her having family in from out of town for Thanksgiving). I was totally surprised that she took me in as a new client on her day off but she did. She gave me an awesome hairstyle and one that I cannot keep my hands out of and stop getting compliments from. She is classy and topnotch! She truly made my Thanksgiving a good day! Now I have one more person to be thankful for.

All employees were dressed in black which lends itself to a uniform appearance (plus!). The place was clean and organized. The coat hooks were these adorable scissor shaped - very cool. The music in the salon was on point...a nice R&B blend. Bre did an awesome job on my braids. I LOVE that her service includes shampoo, blow dry AND the braiding hair. Those of us who get braids know that we usually have to come prepped (shampooed) and sometimes have to bring the hair. I saw another customer on here asking for a partial refund, which is what i also asked for. They were also refused. They would rather you come back and spend more time in the salon that is very cold and very loud. The owner saw my review and asked me to come and have the hair fixed. Keep in mind that i had i my posted the pictures without a comment. So if the owner herself thinks the pictures are ugly how much more myself who has to wear this. I be style on the left clearly shows all cornrows in one direction around the head. Why do i have cornrows in multiple directions and don't even ask if the back. Wasted time and wasted money. Never again Transparency... i was offered to fix the front as well as have the braids removed for a 50% refund. I still tipped my braider since she stood there and did the work.

Additionally, there were a lot of stray hairs on the left side and some braids are unraveling. I'm afraid to swim with them - the purpose of installation was for a vacation. Since I live in Virginia, its too far and much of an hassle to ask to reinstall the hair. I rarely provide reviews on this platform or share photos but this experience needs be shared.
