We paid a weekend visit here to Dorothy B Oven Park to enjoy an afternoon stroll. Tip: There are a good number of beautiful gardens, trails, and boardwalks here; there's even a bridge :-) If was surprising to see how nice this place is, because we had driven right past it several times without noticing or thinking that it was in any way unusual.  I suggest you take the opportunity to pay this place a visit and enjoy it! read more

Coming to Dorothy Oven Park every Christmas was a family tradition that came in my later days in Tallahassee. The entire park is lit for you to drive through and observe or to walk through (which gives you an even better view). Be sure to come at least once during the holiday season to take pictures and enjoy the lights. We came on a Saturday afternoon to get some steps in, enjoy the green summer views and maybe catch some Pokémon while we were at it. My dad patiently walked with me while I swiped Pokéstops and caught some common Pokémon. Parking seems limited but is pretty plentiful to make for convenient entry and exit. Most of the park is shaded which makes for a mostly cool experience, even in the humidity. Dorothy Oven Park is just another one of those classic spots in Tallahassee that you must visit, especially during the wintertime. read more

I chose to marry here with my husband and close friends and family for an intimate ceremony. We did not rent the carriage house, just simply had a family member stake the place out and save our spot next to the koi pond and waterfall off the main path. We proceeded to have pictures taken here after the ceremony. This venue is great to rent as well, as I've attended a Christmas party here where the large white building was rented out. Hate to admit it, but this was my first visit to this park. I know, I know. I will do better especially during the holiday season when they put up all their decorations and lights. What a charming and Zen-like park! We loved walking through all the paths finding little and big bridges, water features and beautiful plants. I came here with a friend to see the Christmas lights during the Elf Night event. The parking wasn't that abundant, but we were able to park in the church lot right next door and walk over. The entry way was nice, very bright and decorated with blue lights. Obviously it was night, so getting an image of the park as a whole was a little difficult, but from what I could tell, it was a nice, quaint place. I enjoyed it, and if you have a family or a significant other that you would like to take out to do something, this would be a great choice to make! It's not too big of a place, and you'll finish up in about 30 minutes or so, but make a few laps around and enjoy yourself for the evening. read more

Cute little park right by my apartment, great for a nice walk and for some change of scenery. Seams well kept and not too busy. I tend to walk around and enjoy the break from Tallahassee by myself. But it's also good for a nice walk with your better half and taking a few pictures with a loved one. read more

This is a nice green space in Tallahassee. There are walking paths and garden features to look at, and it stays relatively quiet during the week. This isn't a kid-oriented park as there are no playgrounds or swings, but it's a lovely place to stroll on summer evenings when it's not so hot. read more

A hidden paradise. Delightful park with garden gems awaiting you around every corner. Many plants and features donated in memory of loved ones. I imagined the love that went into their work. A nearby hotel concierge suggested this park when I asked for a running route. She said she couldn't remember the name of the park but that it was off of Thomasville Road. Had I not searched for it on YELP I would never have found it. Entering this small park was like entering a different dimension. I was truly entranced. I so appreciate those who donate land and plants and put hard work, time and energy as well as funds into creating such beauty in memory of loved ones, for strangers to enjoy. read more

A small, but beautiful park on the north side of Tallahassee. I came here with my girlfriend because I had heard wonderful things about their Christmas lights display. Although small compared to the large displays I've visited elsewhere in the past, it was still a wonderful place for a stroll. Yet, with all the kids let loose by their parents, I can't imagine the chaos that it must be on their Elf Night events. Definitely give this park a try! read more

Went on 12/15/2022 Elf Night. Drove over an hour from my home to get there. There was an accident just one street from the park and it took an hour to get just two streets over to the park from the accident. Got in the park with my four year old grandson and my granddaughter who wanted to see Santa and Mrs. Claus so bad. That was the main reason we went. When we got to Santa and Mrs Claus we were told that they ran out of tickets and we would have to wait for them to start the numbers over again. They said they would tell everyone when they were going to do this. There was so much noise and so many children screaming and playing that we didn't hear them. But we went back to them just 20 minutes after we had left them. When we got back up there the girl tells us that there is no more tickets ( the tickets are free and they are just numbers). There were only about 6 people in line to see Santa and mrs Claus at that point ( yes they were still there) but even after explaining that we drove over an hour and that there was an accident in front of there place and that we couldn't hear them say they were giving numbers and showing her that there were only a few people in line and showing her that Santa was still there, she refuse to let my grand babies see Santa. They lost there home in a storm they don't have any money in fact they don't have much of anything. They are staying with me for now. My husband was seriously injured on the job and lost his job so we don't have much either. But I thought I would take them to see Santa and have some semblance of fun in their life. With just the few people there and Santa still sitting there with the four year old looking right at him and the lady turning us away and the four year having a melt down not understanding why Santa was right there and this lady said no you can't see him, I think Dorothy B. Oven should be ashamed. If it was a ton of people in line I could understand but it was only like six people. I'm sorry but this was just wrong. These kids have nothing and Dorothy B. Oven ( or their employees) made sure it stayed that way. read more

What a beautiful park. Here it is mid February and everything is in bloom! There are so many paths, water features, pergola, benches. It is all perfectly groomed. There is a lovely, new wooden boardwalk overlooking a pond with turtles. Very peaceful and healing. read more

Breath taking how beautiful this park is...shame on me that after 6yrs in Tally, this is the first time I come here. I can tell you with certainty that it won't be the last. This park has beautiful walkways, water fountains, benches, swings and views of greenery. It can be a relaxing place to meditate, a romantic place to enjoy with your sweety, a fun place to have a picnic or just a day out with your fur baby. Absolutely gorgeous and beautifully maintained park and gardens. As a photographer, it is probably the very best place for doing outdoor portraits. There is a pond with a beautiful boardwalk, a camelia garden with water fountain, and hundreds of things to see - all year around. I come here with my family at least twice a month, and have been doing so for years. Best part? This is a nice and quaint park in the northern part of Tallahassee. I have been here twice for the Holiday Lights event they hold year round. They have displays throughout the whole park and you walk around looking at them all. There are some events where you can take pictures with Santa or people walking around in Snowman or Reindeer suits. It is cute and fun for the family. Last year I was really in love with the display and we probably spent around 2 hours here enjoying the lights and event. My friend's son was so scared of the Christmas Mouse (yea I don't understand either), but it was funny. This year I went and was a bit disappointed. Yes it was on a Sunday Night, but the charm was missing a little and everything felt similar, but nothing amazing. I think it is nice that they have the lights here every year and on a regular day it is good for a day stroll. The park is not too big so you can't expect a grand walk. The plants are pretty and the greenery is well placed. Randomly noticed it is fairly cheap to have a Wedding here as well. 3.5 in my books, but I am nice so I will round up. read more
