My dog had emergency surgery done here and she was able to survive, which several vets didn't give her much of a chance of survival. She was in extremely bad shape. The vet done it at a very reasonable price and she was able to be saved. Sadly during surgery she got her leg/hip hurt while in stir-ups and now has a ligament tear. We are now 2 weeks out and been to 3 other vets along with being on 2 medications for her ligament tear. She's also had an X-Ray. It's just a casualty of having the surgery I suppose. She's now infection free, which she was severely infected when the surgery was done. The vet even called the next day (Sunday) to see how she was doing.

I believe the staff here truly cares about animals and helping within the community. I have seen…read moretheir facility and it is clean. The animals have appropriate accommodations and I recently was interested in adopting a cat or two and was able to meet several. Wish I could take them all. They also work with the Lawrence Humane Society which is another great place. I encourage the public to consider making online donations to help this place as they run on public funding. As a former volunteer and having worked in the animal care field for over 17 years, these jobs are hard work. Being able to provide vet care, food, bedding, etc for many animals in need isn't easy. The staff I dealt with in their adoption center were wonderful. Come here to find your next fur-ever friend.
