There's pretty trees, some groves of trees even, and also a river + a gazebo by the river. It's a good place to walk, run, bike around, and maybe utilize the picnic tables for. My husband and his brother have even done photoshoots here before, showing that this is a pretty place to go and spend time at !

I live watching the squirrels, during the day look for for food or dig holes all around. There's a stream of water that go's threw when water is released or gets full on a raining day. It's got some parts that are clean, but for some that neat repairs, and cleaning. On one part of the park it's open grass area to relax on a summers night. On the other part is got a some kinds sitting area that has rotted and turned into a trash area for who knows what? I live this place as it's close to home, and there's a bridge that cars go over as well theres as pedestrian bridge you can cross that leads through the park. You would think that the city over sees this, as I'm sure it gets some attention. For me that lived near by, it would be nice to upgrade it clean up better.

Came here with a big group (40-45 people) for Group Campsite A this past weekend (Friday check in…read morethrough Sunday check out). Plenty of picnic tables and plenty of space for our tents in the shade. Plenty of parking as well. We also reserved Group Campsite B because we thought we needed more space, but we didn't end up needing it. However, Group Campsite B has its own parking spots (can fit 6 cars comfortably I believe) which was good use for us for our friends who came on Saturday when it was packed with two different baptisms and other day use overflow. Group Campsite A didn't have its own parking and could only park at the overnight/overflow lot, which was fine for those of us that came on Friday when it was empty. Group Campsite A is more secluded/private and has outlets as well. Group Campsite B didn't have much shade and was next to the other campsites. The bathrooms nearest the group campsites got pretty gross by the end of the day with all the day use people using it as well, but they were cleaned every morning. There was another bathroom at the other end of the park near the rest of the campsites, but didn't feel the need to go to them. Park Rangers also made a point to come by and get trash every morning as well and collected them from us at the river! There was a big dumpster near Campsite A that we could walk to as well. The river was close by. Campsite A had a lot of shade and we didn't even need our EZ-Ups. We brought them down to the river instead. There were coin showers (25 cents per minute and minimum of 2 minutes required each time). It was really hot Friday evening through Saturday morning and a TON of bugs, but Saturday there was a nice breeze and no more bugs. Saturday night got really cold into Sunday morning. Will definitely be coming back here in the future for more big group camping!

We came with a group to check out the Hughson Arboretum & Gardens. Our personal assignment for…read moreourselves was to take photos of every color in the rainbow. I tried my best to capture every color in nature. However there were only a few blooming trees when we went. I thought maybe if we came at a different time of the year, we might see more blooms. I'm not sure. To be honest, it was a little underwhelming, and one of my friends expressed their disappointment. It looks larger online, and we were restricted from seeing all of the plants and trees, due to the fenced-in area. However, I enjoyed the short walk in nature, and tried to capture as many beautiful photos as I could.

It also comes with dog supply baggies pick up their poop and a nice trail to walk your dogs. The trail is a half a mile and it is great exercise with beautiful trees in a great neighborhood.

This is the biggest general park in Ripon. It is a pretty large scale park with an upper and a…read morelower area. The upper area has 4 horseshoe pits and bocce ball courts. There is a small kids playground by these courts. Another part of the upper area consists of a large lawn area, which is plenty big for several different sports. There are two baseball diamonds and a medium size playground. The bathrooms are located by the baseball diamonds. Near this area is also a butterfly garden. When you walk to the lower area, there is a large gazebo which is nice for parties. There are two volleyball courts that consist of sand. The remaining area is fairly large and consist of lawn. The park parallels the Stanislaus river and there are several access points to enjoy the water. This park can get fairly busy on the weekends.

We love this park, easy tree shrouded trails to the river where you can swim or just sit in the…read moreriver. When the water is low it only comes up to your knees in most places and deep areas up to your waist. This part of the river is mostly sandy instead of rocky. The city keeps the park well maintained and there appears to a community center along with public restrooms, a butterfly garden, a large gazebo area and a volleyball area. Went on Labor Day and was surprised there were no crowds, especially since there is no entrance fee. You can either park in the park and walk to the river or you can park in a city parking area with paved trails leading towards the river. No BBQ grills or tables near the river but they do have lots of garbage bins so bring your dog, camp chairs and a picnic basket and soak in the natural beauty.
