    Area for age 2-5

First of all, the play structure is AMAZING. It is extensive, has lots of slides and types of climbing areas (including a mini- rock-wall for the toddlers that is low and slanted and safe) I took my 2.5 year old twins here and they couldn't get enough of it! Visibility is good if you want to sit on one of the benches provided to the parents. There are plenty of places for them to run around and play. And there is even a tree in the middle of the park that is strong and low and good for climbing. Lots of shade as well. Only reason I knocked off a star is because there were homeless people hanging out, one of them went i to a bathroom and started yelling, so I didn't feel comfortable using the bathrooms or letting my kids in there.

Motown doesn't have a City Park, a la SF's Golden Gate Park, but this is good enough. And boy is it good. When one thinks of Modesto, a few things come to mind. "Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health" is what the city fathers want, says so on the I Street Arch. "Cowtown" is another; "endless tract housing" is another; sadly, "meth" is another. Oh yes, and the Gallos live here. But Graceada Park is located in an unexpected pocket of classic houses from several generations ago, on what was once THE street to live on (Sycamore). You see the park when you speed down Needham, but if you want to experience the park and the neighborhood, just park the car and walk in. It's large. It's peaceful. It's heavily treed. It has a nice playground, tennis courts, and the Mancini Bowl bandshell. It has a lot of open space for throwing the football or frisbee. Or you can lay out a blanket, have a picnic, or just do nuthin'. It feels like the Midwest; not surprising, seeing that Modesto was a magnet for Okies in the 1930s. When you're 1-2 blocks north, the traffic of the big cowtown seems far, far away. And I finally parked the car and walked in; ballet performance at the bandshell. Felt very old-school in a good way, such a gorgeous setting, and it couldn't have been pulled off in any other park in town. It helped that we ate at the A&W Drive-in before coming here; all we needed was to be driving a `53 Cadillac. For those of you into old MGM musicals, here's a fitting ending to this review: If Fred & Cyd were to redo "Dancing In The Dark" in Graceada Park, it would come out almost as magical as it did in "The Band Wagon".

    Shallow walking pool.

Do not go here on Thursday nights. Teenage hipsters come hang out there. It is horrible.

Sooner or later, if you grow up in Modesto, you probably will end up on stage at the Mancini bowl, it's like a coming of age .

However I will say,…read morepricing just keeps going up and I don't think it's going to stop, because they know people here in the bay make too much and will pay whatever amount to have nice courts with good people to play here. I personally just buy the day passes here and come during the weekend every so often, and stay all day (since they have in n out privileges) to make my pass worth it. I remember the good old days when day passes were just $25, but now it is $40! A bit too much for me, if you are looking for a free court with good opponents, you can play at Mitchell park in Palo Alto. Also, during rainy days is very busy so be mindful of that if you are coming because you can't play outside for free, because everyone else has the same idea! Other than that, when I do come to the hub, I always get good games in when I play in the higher skill levels

Dipti was able to meet with us in person and also by email to go over all the details. Dipti also provided a timeline which allowed for us to simply enjoy the event. Our event was for approximately 100 people which included players and spectators. For some of the people, it was their first time playing pickleball and for others it was there first time playing at the Hub. All of the details were taken care of, even some that we did not even consider. In the end, we had a great time and everyone continues to talk about the experience and memories that were made that day. Thanks Dipti and the Hub for making this day GREAT!

I feel like their behavior is dishonest misleading and indicating a lack of integrity. The first time I join for one month trial they had a new year promotion so I join Jan 06 and immediately they charge me extra , after calling the front desk few times , they said the promotion was over yesterday (they forgot to mention it when I signed in ) , I talked with Luz (one of the managers )and she agreed to return the extra fees and I asked to cancel the membership at the spot . I didn't see the refund and after calling again , they said it's a credit for next month , I said again , I don't want to be here another month , please cancel my membership, they said yes and now they charge me again . I needed to send them email just to confirm the call and they still charge me again I spend so many hour talking with them about the issue and then like nothing happens. I was there 3 times and for charge over $300 already . Such a rip off If u decide to join them , take a lawyer with u because they will nail you with secret charges all over the place . Very disappointing

Right away you can tell this place is well run. The energy is welcoming, the staff actually cares, and the community vibe is real -- competitive but still friendly. Pickleball-wise, it's stacked. 8 indoor courts that are clean, permanent, and play great, plus 7 outdoor courts if you want fresh air. Runs are organized, people know how to play, and they're always hosting tournaments and competitive events, which I really appreciate as someone who plays a lot. Outside of pickleball, the gym setup is legit. Full cardio and strength equipment, unlimited group classes like yoga, barre, and more. Locker rooms are clean, with showers, sauna, and steam room -- clutch after long sessions. Pro shop is fully stocked and the staff is always down to help with gear or questions without being pushy. Small thing but funny -- they even added a ping pong table, which kinda says everything about the vibe here. Functional, fun, and community-first. If you're in the Bay and serious about pickleball, fitness, or just want a spot that's run right with good people, The Hub Alameda is definitely worth checking out. I'll be back for sure.
