I went to this salon for a trim. The environment was pleasant, so I didn't mind that they were running a little behind schedule. They offered me a cup of tea while I was waiting, which I appreciated. While the stylist was very pleasant and the hair cut wasn't bad (and not much more expensive than a chain like Supercuts), the bangs were uneven and not as I requested. I went home and trimmed them more to my liking, as it was clear that the stylist wasn't much of a perfectionist and I was nervous about them becoming too short. Overall, I was impressed by the presentation and vibe of the salon, but the haircut was underwhelming. read more

I've been going to Dosha for over 10 years for pedicures. I love the ambience of the mani/pedi room, and the fact that the Dosha ladies order extraordinary polish colors (I hate to have ordinary toes). I've also started having my hair cut at Dosha, and its very relaxing (precut neck massage with essential oils is wonderful). I feel like, when I walk through the door, everyone is happy to see me. It may be that I've been going there for so long that I am a friend, but as salons go, this one gives me a lovely, warm feeling rather than the typical salon experience, where I am more than a little intimidated. read more

I noticed that a review on here got filtered but questioned my motives. I have been to Dosha a few times since I wrote the originally review. The last service I got was a deep conditioner treatment. It was done by the owner, Karen and was well worth the value. Foot bath, sipping tea while my hair is wrapped up is my idea of relaxing. The massage part was great, too. My hair was in really bad condition and I didn't see improvement from the treatment but that is not their fault, my hair just needed to be chopped. For the price, I don't think I have ever felt my money has ever been as well spent as it was that day. I definitely will schedule this service again- especially great when the weather turns cold. As for why I keep returning- because there are very few spas in the area. I loved David who worked there and the massages with him were worth every penny. However, I had 3 other massages there and they were average at best. One facialist that work there was awesome (kristine) and I tried 2 other girls and they just didn't live up. The manis/ pedis are good and all but at the end of the day I never feel it was money well spent. And I still think hair stylists who have more experience should cost more. I only have had maybe 2 colors and cuts. Nothing to complain about and I love the footbath and massage that is included in the service. It makes it special. Overall the place is beautiful and relaxing, except the stairs and echoing that serves as a minor annoyance. Overall it is a place I like and recommend so I don't know why another reviewer would feel it was ness essay to question my motives. I have spent a lot of time and money there and feel I have a lot to share with other people who are thinking of booking a service. read more

Not only do I love the cuts, colors, mani/pedis, and eyebrow waxes, I get regularly. This review of Dosha is puzzling on several levels. The highly subjective criticisms and claims of this person suggests someone who extracted a kernel from an overall experience, then blew it up and magnified it beyond fairness or reason. This complainant details dissatisfaction with charges and services, but it begs the question: if her experiences were unsatisfactory and if she was so dissatisfied, why did she keep returning over and over again? Who would continue to do that and why? For nine years I have been a very frequent Dosha client, as often as not, several times a month for one service or another. Not one of the various services I have received throughout these years has been other than excellent. No salon/spa on this planet can claim perfection - perfection is unattainable in any area of life - it does not exist. However, in my long experience with the owners and staff at Dosha, they are unfailingly receptive, gracious, solicitous and responsive to my needs. Not only are they responsive to my expressed requests or needs, but they make every effort to intuit unexpressed needs and bend over backwards to cater to those, as well. As for their fees, they seem to be on par with other premium salons. If the complainant objects to the fees for services she receives, then again, I question why she returns. There are more than numerous choices available. One can't help but ponder this woman's motives to make such claims against such a stellar group of talented professionals, who constantly do their utmost to please. One has only to observe the faces and demeanor of the clients receiving services throughout the salon to note that they are smiling, relaxed and just happy to be there. I love Dosha! I went there initially to get help correcting something another salon had messed up (I have a huge dark patch of color on the back of my head - it was awful and I didn't trust the other salon to fix it). I have now been having my hair done there for years and love the whole experience! I have recommended Dosha to all of my friends, many of whom now go there. The Owners and staff are friendly and professional, the personal service and quality of services performed is top notch! The ambiance is professional and friendly and service seems to be paramount to them- they always take care of the customer everything from offering coffee and tea to head massage and foot soaks along with whatever service you are having. I am always pleased when I leave there even when I have tried something I wasn't sure about! Prices are comparable to other high quality salons and the experience is superior! I would highly recommend DOSHA - try them, I am sure you will love them too! read more
