There are two Wawa locations in the Ashland, VA area. This one is my preferred stop because it is…read moremuch easier to access from Interstate 95. The other location is farther from an exit and requires navigating multiple roads and intersections. This Wawa is located on Sliding Hill Road (State Route 656), Exit 86B off Interstate 95. It is the first exit north of the Interstate 295 junction. Having not stopped since Maryland, I headed straight to the men's room, which was clean. Wawa provides separate restrooms for men and women. The men's room includes a handicapped-accessible stall, a urinal, one sink, and an air dryer. It was clean, though not spotless. I grabbed a hazelnut coffee from the coffee bar, which was generally well stocked, although they were running low on half-and-half--one container was empty and the other nearly so. I did not see a coffee station attendant at the time. I also picked up a SIZZLI sausage croissant with egg and cheese from the warmer. It was good. I used the self-checkout, and the process was quick and uneventful. Overall, this is a nice store with friendly staff. I've stopped here before and will likely return.

I happened upon this Wawa and was very pleased to find that the prices were considerably lower here than they were anywhere else in the area. I got my gas, washed off my windshield and was on my way in no time. I didn't get a chance to go inside but this gas station was fully equipped and in a good location.

Yeah, I am a fan of convenient store with a gas station, especially I have gone to the competitor Wawa more often because of the location closest to my hotel. We came here during the day right after the busy morning commute hour on Monday. It was not crowded. I could see employees were preparing the lunchtime rush. He was buying some freshly baked pastries and they are only available at Sheetz. I am not much of a pastry person. So, I had a self-guided tour of the store while he shopped. I think I would like it next time when I visit Ashland. I couldn't tell the difference from Wawa, really.

It nicely maintained, well stocked, clean, easy to maneuver through, and the gas prices are competitive! Typically I'll grab a few snacks and drinks for the road. This particular store has a great selection of food and beverages. The wine and beer selection is extensive. I was surprised at the quality and variety! They also carry car accessories for your phone, greeting cards and lots of other sundries. On my last trip there, I was thrilled to find some cool sterling silver jewelry in the case by the register. Some of the pieces are pricey, but others are reasonable. The cashier wasn't very personable, but I was happy to find some SS lobster earrings for my daughter, so I didn't mind his "crabbiness".
