I've been wanting to get my nose pierced for a long time. I called another tattoo shop, they told me their piercer was working and when I arrived they told me he went home for the day. So I took my business elsewhere. I'm convinced that it was meant to be because I ended up coming to Double Cross and Izzy is so talented and easy to talk to. You pay separately for the piercing and the jewelry. It's in a strip plaza next to a bakery. There is a semi private room in the back where the piercings are done. It takes about 20 minutes for her to set up for the procedure but once you're in the room it takes no more than 10 minutes. She made sure I was comfortable by doing a couple of deep breathing exercises before she pierced my nose. She really understands that it can be nerve racking. I can't wait to come back and get more piercings and you should too! read more

I got my middle brow (clown brow) eyebrows pierced and my nipples repierced by Emily and she was so kind. she marked my piercings and made sure I was okay with them before we continued and had such a positive attitude the whole time. she did an exceptional job of making sure I was okay with the placing and making sure I was ready before piercing. she's very precise with her markings and very comforting. I even got to ask her questions that didn't pertain to my piercings I was getting and she happily answered them. Emily did an amazing job making sure I got exactly what I wanted and i'm so glad I ended up coming here. I don't feel basically ANY pain from my piercings and they're already doing so well, no irritation or redness whatsoever. I usually bleed when I get pierced but I didn't bleed at all on my eyebrows and my nipples bled maybe half a drop. I am seriously just in shock at how well these piercings were done!!!! Well...I've been going here for 3 years and all my experiences have been pretty good. Jeff is a great piercer and he's very experienced. I never felt much pain with him at all with his piercings. And I will always recommend him for piercings. Josh Is also a great artist and I love his mandala work, but recently we got into a argument about the deposit agreement. In my opinion I didn't believe a peony tattoo that only takes 3 hours should be more than $500. The deposit agreement I feel is absolutely ridiculous. This is because if you change your mind on a tattoo, you cannot change the design more than 72 hours before the appointment. So if you are not 100% sure on your tattoo design, you lost your money and you are screwed. I lost $140 because I made a deposit on a peony tattoo because I got it done at another shop called Visionary Ink in Fort Lauderdale for around $300. I waited 17 years to get my first tattoo, at 35 I am probably not the typical tattoo client. I painstakingly stalked the local tattoo shops for the right artist for the last few months, thanks to Instagram I stumbled upon Rafael Fuentes & am so grateful I did. His communication is quick & conversational, he's very down to earth. His IG page as a portfolio speaks for itself. He is the epitome of a professional. I met with him to go over my design, his excitement and passion for his craft is very evident. I got my first tattoo, on November 26th. I was hesitant and nervous about the pain and the commitment. He firmly, and politely discouraged me from making it any smaller, despite my concerns. I cite this because I'm really grateful he did. He's a professional, that's what I am paying him for, his expertise. And while I LOVE the artwork, he was totally right, I do wish it was even larger. Trust him. It didn't hurt at all, and took only two hours. I was elated. I scheduled my next tattoo within the week. I got it on 12/10. I'm even more overjoyed about this one, it took 6 hours and was worth the time, thanks to his talent. He used saniderm on both, and gave clear instructions on how to take care of them. They are both healing swiftly. In the last few years I can't think of something that has made me happier than these tattoos. I cannot recommend him enough. I'm visiting from out of town and came Sunday afternoon to ask about getting a pretty big side piece redone after a few laser tattoo removal sessions. I talked to Neill who was professional, friendly, and entirely open to starting work that afternoon. We spent the 10+ hours over next three days relining two side pieces and coloring one of them in. I am incredibly happy with the work he did on me. Even the relining made a dramatic difference. He was knowledgeable, experienced, and made the entire process as simple and easy. The entire shop is full of great artists and piercers. Clean and open shop. I messaged Double Cross Tattoo on Facebook the day before I headed down to Ft. Lauderdale (I'm from Boston) to see if I could get work done. They messaged me back immediately and told me to contact their traditional artist Danny since I wanted a death's head hawk moth in a neo traditional style. We spoke on the phone, made a plan, and he drew the tattoo up for me a couple hours later and texted it to me. When I got in, everyone at the shop was extremely accommodating and friendly to me and my friend who was traveling with me. Danny got started right away. He made the process as painless as it could be. He was good company and knocked out an amazing piece for me. My only regret is that I will have to come back down here to get more work done by him. The shop is immaculate and easy to find with parking readily available. It was a comforting environment to be in; not judgmental or uppity but laid back and welcoming. I came to this shop for a piercing as well as my two close friends receiving piercings, I got my naval pierced and initially I thought it was oddly placed, but brushed it off because I am a bigger girl and my friend who was smaller had hers looking normal. This is now 7 months later and the piercing NEVER healed and was in irritated and painful still. I went into a separate shop and asked the piercer for advice and was told the piercing was pushed so far back inside my belly button that it had no possibility of healing, and that my ONLY options were to take it out and re-pierce it else where once it heals, or to keep it in even though it will never heal. As well my other friend received a nostril piercing and it was placed so far forward she has to purchase extra small rings because normal ones won't fit her piercing. So now I threw away $75 including tip and 7 months, and will have to pay to get it pierced over again after another few months of healing. This post is in no way looking to slander this business, I see they have phenomenal reviews for tattoos, but my piercing experience was absolutely dreadful, and quite unacceptable. As well when I first received the piercing the ball wouldn't stay on at all and I ended up have to go back and have them push the barbel back through on the first day. read more

Three small tattoos, for three girls. We had scoured the internet, visited multiple shops and reviewed artist portfolios for 3 ridiculously small tattoos that had significance to us. We chose Esteban Mayor @mayortattoos and we are so glad we did! He treated us with great attention and care despite the size of the job. It was the very first tattoo for two of us. Cost was fair and reasonable. Shop was clean (gloves, single use kits, etc.). He gave us such a great experience that one of us will be coming back to get a bigger art piece completed. Another artist was so honest and gave helpful advice. Two of us came in with very specific criteria on the tattoo design and size and he was brutally honest and gave us alternative options to improve the look of the tattoo.
