I love this place! I have gotten all of my tattoos here with the exception of 2 because I didn't know about them soon enough. I now only come here and see Chris. Although all the artists seem great, Chris is my guy. So friendly and attentive and will give you exactly what you're looking for. You won't be disappointed. Rock-a-Billy tattoos has been providing the local area of south Florida with great quality tattoos and piercings since 1998! I saw Chris about seven years ago with my son & daughter and got matching tattoos which was so special. We told him what we were thinking (didn't have any pics) and he drew it out with perfection the first time around. My most recent visit was with my sister to get matching sister tattoos. While there I decided to get a couple more small tattoos because why not. I love them all! They are located on N. University Dr. in Lauderhill Florida. There is plenty of parking out front. Bonus is that Tate's Comic Store is right next door. read more

I went here to get a couple piercings. Front desk staff was a little cold for a first time, but I give the benefit of the doubt since it was busy. The quality of the piercings (evenness and pain level) was immaculate, and the piercer was super nice! Totally recommend coming for your next piercing. read more

It's always a good time with Steven his energy and vibe is so welcoming. He is very knowledgeable and I get anxious right before a piercing but he always finds a way to make me laugh as a distraction. He is very informative and reassuring that if anything comes up or any issues to come right in. 3rd pic was sentimental the week of my aunts funeral my cousins wanted to do something together and getting pierced was it. Only place I would recommend! Your body is your temple so why not adorn it with some fabulous art! Chris, Roger and PL are local legends along with the rest of the crew. I've gotten both of my piercings here and Steven is the most insane piercer ever, super friendly guy and definitely good at making someone new to getting a piercing feel comfortable and he's hilariously good at distracting you from the pain. The place is super chill and the music selection is great, music is also at a comfortable volume where it isn't super loud but not too quiet to hear, there's a TV in the lobby area on one of the pillars usually playing older TV shows (Last I went they were playing Daria) and its always a good vibe when you're sitting there waiting for your turn. 10/10 Would recommend read more

Stopped by for a piercing. The welcome was inviting. Steven pierced me, he was very patient and took his time. He wanted to make sure I was happy with the position of the area he marked before he did it. After the first one, he waited a bit for my nerve to settle in and told me to inform him when I'm ready for the other. He was really great, I was super comfortable with him. I came in for a septum piercing and since I was a walk-in i knew how long I was going to have to wait. When I got called back Steven (the piercer) went over absolutely everything with me to make sure I was comfortable. We decided to spontaneously get a tattoo and have read great reviews about this place. We walked in on a Saturday evening and luckily the artist was finishing up someone's tattoo. We signed a waiver and gave them a copy of our licenses. I waited about ten minutes because our artist was getting the stencil ready. The place was clean and large with a ton of artwork throughout. They have an open style and it seats about 4 or 5 artists. There's a waiting area with some chairs. They also do piercings there which is typical for a tattoo shop. The girl at the front desk was nice. She gave us some samples of ointment and aftercare directions. My artist, a young gentleman, forgot his name but he was really nice. He got all the equipment setup and prepped my skin by cleaning it and shaving the hair. My tattoo was small and just an outline; he said it would take five minutes and he was right. It did not hurt, just an annoying scraping feeling. Overall, I'm happy with the outcome of my tattoo. The shop minimum is $60 so mine came out to that plus tip. My husband got a tattoo also but was a little bigger, he worked on his after mine. I'd definitely come back to get more tattoos there! read more

You get what you pay for and this place is not great! The first time I went here, I was 18 years old (about 9 years ago). They had an artist tattoo me that had NO experience at all. At the time, I was only 18 like I said so I didn't do research about any of the artists. I just wanted a quick tattoo and Rock-A-Billy was the first place that pooped up online. Anyway, the guy they had tattoo me had no experience and he completely messed up my stomach area. All I wanted done was 2 nautical stars. I was left with raised scar tissue, uneven lines, and stars that were uneven. When I went back to the shop they apologized but wouldn't even give me a refund. At the time I had the tattoos done, they looked fine so I didn't say anything then. It was not until a couple months later that I could see the damage that was done. I've been back to the shop more recently with friends. Chris Slota (very rude person) was tattooing a friend and this friend told Chris exactly what he wanted on his arm. When the tattoo was almost finished, my friend looked at his arm and Chris had changed the design and added things that my friend did not ask for. When my friend confronted him and told him he didn't like what he had done, Chris became very defensive and angry. DO NOT get tattooed at this shop or by Chris. Will never return here. Terrible experience. Edit reply to owner: You must not remember LLoyd. I actually didn't know that he wasn't an actual artist. One of your artists, PJ, brought it to my attention and told me that he should have never tattooed me. Again, this was over a decade ago (with these specific tattoos) so I highly doubt anyone would remember. But I do. I am stuck with them for the rest of my life. read more

Rock a Billy tattoo is the only place that I would trust. I have been to this shop three times over the past couple of years to get major tattooing work done. The artist I always go to is PL Serrano. He is great. First of all from a professional and service standpoint this place is top notch. It is very clean, they keep their appointments, the place is comfortable and always welcoming. Prices are good. I have worked with PL on custom pieces each time I have gone in there and each time he has interpreted my ideas perfectly and has done excellent work on me. If you have an idea and you want someone to bring it to life and put it on your skin... Just go to PL. Rock a Billy tattoo knows how to treat their customers. read more

I was recommended by a friend and after reading the reviews about the tattoos, I decided to go. When I walked in someone immediately asked me if they could help and started working with me. After signing paperwork, he introduced himself as John and with 15mins of preparing the stencil, I was at the station ready to get inked. I did go on a Sunday and noticed that they were the only 2 artists there, so when it came to doing servicing there was always a break to answer the phones. The facility was clean and they seemed very chill. I do believe that if you are deciding on getting a tattoo there you should know what you are getting before walking in. because they seem like they're not into dealing with the bullshit. Walked in to get a wrist tattoo today. First impression: CLEAN! Always a good sign. The receptionist was very friendly too. Another bonus! I showed her what I wanted to do and she told me she had just the guy to do it. Frank worked with me and combined two designs that I had brought in. He was light handed with the gun and I am VERY VERY VERY pleased with the outcome! Reasonable price as well. Once the bandage comes off I will load the picture to show it off. Hello fellow yelpers! I am sharing this review as a warning to NOT go to Rock-A-Billy's for a piercing. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of sanitary precautions that were taken before I was pierced. I was "welcomed" by Steven, who was clearly on something and couldn't even form a proper sentence. After dragging the conversation on for an extensive period of time, I was taken to the back where he insulted the length of my jewelry in my nose piercing and began EXCESSIVELY filing it down with a nail file(I never asked for him to do anything with my nose piercing, I went in to get my ears stretched). I was in immense pain yet he still continued. After removing the old jewelry and putting in my new gauges, he threw away my old jewelry after i has asked for it back. He began blaming it on me and saying he didn't put it in the trash can, which I later had him dig through, and what do you know? My jewelry. In the trash can. Overall, I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service I received and will NOT be going back. read more

Met with Roger to get my first tattoo. I had several photos of what concept I wanted and he free-handed it. With a few minor changes I suggested, he was open to customizing it to exactly what I wanted. He listened well and paid attention the the small details that make my tattoo "right". He was professional and polite, and totally comfortable to be around. I'm glad he didn't force any conversion during the tattoo because it being my first tattoo, I was focused on breathing. And he was focused on my tattoo. Going back tonight for another design concept...I hope he can bring it to life again!! One word... Fantastic. One name... Chris Slota. He has transformed my arm into the sleeve of sleeves. This journey started over a year and a half ago with my first tat on my left arm. Then once that bug was planted he helped me shape my vision into an amazing piece of art. I get so many compliments on the multiple pieces that Chris molded into one beautiful piece of art. His ability to hear what you want and then patiently listening to you all the while envisioning the flow of the pieces and how to perfectly tie them together is truly amazing. He is extremely gifted. SCAMMERS! went to get 2 small tattoos that together were smaller than one inch and was charged almost $200 after we were said it was less than $80. Tats came out really nice but i couldn't feel satisfied about it for that fact that i felt as if i was getting robbed in my face i was supposed to pay 150 for 3 tattoos, ended up paying twice that price. Just don't come in if you don't want to get scammed read more

I tried to disregard and continued through the process of selecting an earring and place to pierce my ear, but when I went to the bathroom just before the piercing, I nearly threw up. The stench and condition of the bathroom was worse than any rest stop public restroom I've ever been in. By the time u laid down on the table for the piercing, once again her body odor was so overwhelming, I couldn't handle another second and had to make an excuse that I was having 2nd thoughts. I had such high hopes for this place and would love to try again if this is resolved.

To this day, I feel like I could stop by just to say hi--even without booking a session. That's how comfortable and welcomed they made me feel. While working on my sleeve, I came across an Instagram video by Carlos Gonzales at Heart in Hand Tattoo in Arlington, TX (also known for his work at Elm Street Tattoo). His video showcased his incredible ability to tie tattoos together with creative gap fillers, making the whole arm flow beautifully. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to make the trip to Texas to have him finish my sleeve. When I finally sat in Carlos's chair, it felt like we clicked instantly. He freehanded with a Sharpie, which made the planning and flow effortless, and he was both meticulous and insanely efficient. If you can handle the pain, he can accomplish a ton in a single session! He tied everything together with gap fillers and larger webs on my shoulder and elbow, and when we wrapped up, I realized he had put the perfect finishing touch on my sleeve. This journey has been deeply personal. My inner-arm soccer player was my first tattoo below the t-shirt line--visible to the world. For me, it symbolized finally being comfortable in my own skin at 40 years old, making decisions for myself instead of for others. Every artist along the way has contributed to that story, and their work is now permanently part of me. I recently saw a video of an older woman explaining why she got her first tattoo at 80 years old. She said, "When I was a kid, I got stickers for being good. The artists are extremely friendly, oozing with talent, and work with you to get a rendition of exactly what you want before they ink the tattoo. (Shout-out to Jose and Cesar!) The place is very professional, clean (spotless), and bright. You even get to see the unopened ink (and it's expiration date) before it is used on you. They use a topical agent to lessen the pain. But it really was minimal and well worth it for the final product. Prices are reasonable. You can get an estimate before the work begins. P.S. I decided to add a smile to my Snoopy, and they did it the next day without any hassles and at no extra charge!
