While the grounds of the resort are nice, the safety standards and staff response were unacceptable. On Thursday, August 14th, a member of my group informed staff that the inflatable waterslides appeared slightly deflated. The staff's only response was that someone would be coming on Friday to look at them. No warnings were given to campers about avoiding the inflatables, and no signs were posted to restrict their use. Later that day, I went down the inflatable slide. Because it was partially deflated, I slid down at an awkward angle into very shallow water. The pond also had a raised, turf-like surface at the bottom that created a bump. When I hit the bottom, my foot twisted, and I broke my ankle. The staff response to my injury was extremely concerning. The manager stayed in the office and did not come to help. Instead, a child around 12 or 13 years old was sent to assist, but they were not able to provide any help. Another camper (not part of my group) and my boyfriend ended up helping me out of the water and onto a bench so I could elevate my foot. When my boyfriend's mother asked staff for crutches or basic first aid supplies, they had nothing available. The only suggestion was to use a shuffleboard stick as a crutch, which was flimsy and unusable. No staff member brought ice, took down any details of the incident, or checked in on me. It was another camper (not staff) who eventually brought me ice for my ankle. With no assistance from the resort, my boyfriend had to drive me to the hospital, where I was diagnosed with a broken ankle. Because it was late and raining, we returned to the campground that night, but had to cut our trip short and go home the next day. At no point did staff follow up, take notes, or even come to the cabin to see if I was okay. To this day, I have not heard anything from Fox Hill--no apology, no acknowledgement, and no offer of assistance regarding the situation that happened. This entire experience showed a clear lack of safety protocols, communication, and basic first aid support at Fox Hill RV Resort. The inflatables were left in unsafe condition despite prior notice, there were no warnings to guests, and the staff failed to respond properly after my injury.

Definitely best way to beat the crowds and relax at a quieter campground before the hype of the school year starts up. While the sites look and feel the same as the ones at Devil's Lake, there are far fewer sites and it is much more peaceful. The sites themselves are really well kept. Our little site was still able to fit three cars in the driveway, two full tents and a sunshade.The campground features a massive field, covered family Pavillion and little playground. Really nice way to burn off some energy away from the sites if you're not hiking or sit and have lunch at one if the many picnic tables. Two grills available as well. You can't get better camping showers than I've experienced outside of Mirror Lake! They're all private entrances and have a seperate area behind a partition to put your bag/towel/clothes with a bench. Great hot water and pressure. Seperate bathroom area that is extremely well maintained too. Huge plus! While there aren't a lot of trails, the hiking isn't at all strenuous and has beautiful views of the rock formations along the way. Sturdy walking shoes still required. Personally I wouldn't swim in the water as its a little murkier, although it is so lovely to venture around. You're able to rent kayaks for the best experiences it seems so we'll be doing that next year! I highly recommend taking a break from life at Mirror Lake for camping and relaxed hiking! I'm now stuck going to this shitty campground where I'll be nickel and dimed for everything... found out only the pool is included with your site. All other activities are an extra $25 wrist band. What a rip off. Save yourself the headache and a whole lot of cash and camp somewhere else. The owners of this place are thieves.

The campgrounds themselves are well-kept and honestly massive. Can't even imagine how many campsites they have. Ours in particular was in quite the open space with tons of grass, but there are plenty of options that are more wood-like and covered. Nice they have electric hook up options, as we were traveling with both tents and RVs. Hiking trails were awesome too, wow. Really enjoyed our excursions out and about, winding through the woods, rocky up-hills, and taking in the beautiful lake views. Also awesome? The beach and the attached gift shop/restaurant. Super duper well-kept. Tons of beach space (though it was still packed!) with clean sand and shallow waters, great for the kiddos. Also that gift shop is more of a convenience store- it's got it all! The adject ice cream shop was also enjoyed by everyone we traveled with. My only small gripe was the lack of garbage cans. I feel like this is some kind of state-park rule maybe? I don't know there was only one area with dumpsters and unless you trek over there, you're kind SOL with wrappers, ice cream cups, rubbish left over from your restaurant meal, etc. 100% will return here, whether it's for future camping, just hiking outings, or beach days.
