I booked a room at the DoubleTree Orlando at SeaWorld while attending the Grainger Show. I had several hotel options available through the event block and unfortunately chose this one thinking it would be a good experience. When booking, I selected a king bed in the tower, but upon arrival I was placed in what is essentially an older motel-style building outside the main hotel. The room was dated and did not feel clean, which was disappointing compared to what I expected from a DoubleTree property. When I went back to the front desk to ask about moving to the room type I originally requested, I was told that I did not book a king room, despite that being the reason I chose this hotel in the first place. There was no attempt to resolve the situation or offer any alternative solution. For a hotel hosting a large professional event like the Grainger Show, I expected a much higher level of service and accommodation. Unfortunately, the experience felt more like a roadside motel than a Hilton-branded hotel. If you're attending an event nearby, I would strongly recommend looking at other hotels in the area before choosing this one.

This property has an overall rating of 2.5 stars which is exactly what it deserves in my opinion. When using the sort feature on Yelp, one can see that nearly all the most recent reviews are negative. The last time I stayed here more than 8 years ago, I gave it 3 stars. For my most recent stay it gets 2 and I'm a bit surprised that both the Hilton and Doubletree brands allow their names to be associated with this property. The best thing I can say is that the check-in and departure processes were quick, simple and the employees were outgoing and friendly. The warm cookies upon arrival the hotels in this chain provides are also always a bonus. Everything from there was downhill. When booking this Doubletree by Hilton, one has the option to reserve a standard room, which are normally in one of the "villas" - basically older-style motel rooms housed in one of 19 out buildings, where the entrance doors to the rooms open to the outdoor walkways and parking lot. Last time I stayed in one of those I could hear traffic noise and was jarred awake by people talking outside my room, along with hotel staff pushing carts around late into the night and beginning very early the next morning. One can also pay a bit more to reserve a "tower room" which are supposedly nicer, more upgraded hotel rooms, but the room I was given in that tower on this trip was in a bad state of repair overall. There was grease from the heads of former occupants of that room on the headboard, the leather desk chair was badly cracked in many places and had paint peeling from it, there were stains on the walls, paint peeling from the bath tub, and the shower was very slow to drain. While the TV had a decent variety of channels, there was no channel guide or menu as most every modern hotel has had for at least a decade. Rather, at this Doubletree, the TV remote just had a power and channel up/down buttons. One can easily tell this is an older property that's simply not well-maintained or deeply cleaned, and they basically put lots of lipstick on a proverbial pig in an effort to try and make it look updated - but even that occurred some time ago. The real kicker is that guests are charged a $25/day "resort fee" which covers things most patrons will never use, such as shuttles to the parks, trolley rides, discounts on gift shop purchases and mini golf. If you wish to park your car overnight, they charge an additional $30 for that privilege which is insane. Last time I stayed here, they at least included the cost of parking in the resort fee. If you must stay here, request a tower room. If you have the option of staying at another nearby hotel that's in better physical condition, even if you need to pay a bit extra to do so, I'd strongly recommend it.

This place definitely left a lot to be desired. I wouldn't choose to stay here again. It took me 4 hours to get my room. It was super busy and there was a convention in town but still, geez. The room was clean but outdated and shows the years of wear and tear, especially in the bathroom areas. With the exception of the tower, this resort is actually a motel style resort. I really don't like this, especially for safety reasons, the room doors are accessible from the exterior. Thank God for the cookies!

    Hopefully this isn't a bedbug.

Stayed here for a conference nearby. The good: Friendly staff, room was clean, restaurant on site was good, everything in the room worked, and the cookies. The bad: resort for amenities that I never used, pay for self parking, the room smelled a little dank. I killed a blood gorged bug that was on the bed. Not sure it was a bedbug so I checked and didn't see others. Didn't have anymore bug sightings. Overall ok.

If you know me, you know I enjoy staying at DoubleTrees for their warm iconic COOKIES! I usually have decent experiences with DoubleTree, but this is probably one of the worst to date. DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Orlando Seaworld's facilities is spread out through a series of building so in our case it was a far walk from the lobby to our room. The interior of the room could use a lot of upgrades. Everything was dated and sketch. Worst of all was the shower faucet in our room 700 was leaky. So when you switch to shower mode, half of the water is still going out of the bottom faucet. This is total water waste. The toilet used a lot of water per flush too, but the dumb thing is that it didn't always flush everything away. There was no soap for the first two nights. For the last day, the soap was suddenly there. We were using the body wash as soap and running to the shower to grab soap for the first few days. So awkward. We even had a roach run into our room from the outside and thankfully my friends were brave enough to smash it before it contaminated our belongings. This wasn't even bad compared to how our friends' room had a flies infestation and it was flying around them. So gross. And no opportunity for a room switch because the hotel was completely booked for some conventions in town. The few pros was that they had a fridge and microwave in the room. Bedsheets were clean. That's all I can think of. Really subpar for what I think of when I think of a DoubleTree. I would not consider coming back and I don't recommend.

Body wash. Body wash. Empty conditioner.

Beautiful Property With Some Fixable Issues The resort itself is very pretty and was buzzing with multiple conferences during my stay. There are two pools--family and non-family--which is a great idea in theory. I just wish there was some enforcement of the "no kids in the non-family pool" expectation. A few guests ended up having to worry about other people's children, including kids swimming fully clothed, which made the adult pool feel less relaxing. The towel situation at the pool also needs improvement. Towels were left scattered on chairs, and there was no clear sign or designated place to return dirty towels. This made it hard to know which lounge chairs were actually taken. A simple towel station--pick up and drop off--would make things much smoother. I also wasn't impressed with staff approaching guests by the pool to sell packages. It reminded me of being on a touristy beach where vendors constantly come up to you--definitely not the relaxing atmosphere I was hoping for and it made the experience feel a bit inauthentic. The room was fine overall, and I liked that the kitchen/bathroom area could be separated with a sliding door. However, the amenities were confusing. Our "hand soap" turned out to be lotion, and we received no shampoo. The shower had two body wash containers and an empty conditioner container, so I'm not sure if something was missed or if shampoo simply isn't provided anymore. It left us guessing. The resort layout is nice, though the resort map provided could use a small update--the billiard symbol was a pool table ball when it actually leads you to a ping-pong table, which threw off our whole group. Parking was also a challenge, especially with multiple conferences happening. Both front and back lots were packed. Maybe dedicated conference parking would help regular guests park closer to their rooms. Despite the issues, I would return and give the resort another try. The property has a lot of potential, and with a few improvements, it could be a truly great stay.

3.5 This is based on a convention that I attended there in September 2025. The location is nice and easy to get to. We had someone drop us off so we didn't need to pay for parking. Between their website and reviews, parking was anywhere from $15-$30. As were we only a 15 minute drive away, having us dropped off was the best decision for us. Their lobby is a good size, but a few too many oversized chairs which take up space where people are in line for check in. Lots of people, furniture, and luggage in that space makes is seem a lot smaller than it actually is. We stopped in the gift shop for water and a small snacks. What was on display was not great. Almost disappointing. We were happy to find a small shop in the courtyard that had a better selection for snacks. We were there around lunch time on a Saturday. With one person working with maybe 5 people in the shop doesn't seem bad. In reality the shop was not staffed well. The lone employee was also making coffee as she was cashier. With so many different moving parts, it as a slow process. As for the convention, there were no signs. Nothing in the lobby, the courtyard, or even at the front stating where we should go. Luckily we found someone headed the same direction and walked with them. Even after getting there, the signs stating what the conference was were only visible once we were in the thick of it. Once in the convention, all was splendid. Lots of space, great layout, and over all a great event. Would highly recommend. 15.10.2025

Door not closing all the way

My wife and I stayed in the villas, as we thought it was convenient to going to Sea world. This is the worst experience we have had in a very long time staying at a hotel. When we got into our first room, we noticed that the door looked like it was kicked in because it would not fully close at the bottom. We were then moved to another room. In that new room the fire alarm battery was low, so we had the alarm chirping. I would recommend staying somewhere else in the area.

Last week, I stayed at this location for work. The customer service was amazing. I felt like the only customer! The resort is beautiful, with phenomenal amenities. It was only about 15 minutes from the airport. I got upgraded to a king suite that was super spacious and very clean. Overall my experience was great. There were 2 things I stopped me from giving 5 stars. The phone didn't work, but was plugged up, so I had to walk to the front desk for assistance. There were also no face towels in the entire room. Multiple middle and big towels, but no small ones. It made no sense.

    Are there mini fridges?

    Yes.

I'll stay in this hotel in August, what are the good things about the hotel? And the bad? The resort fee includes the parking lot?

Yes, the resort fee includes parking. I shared the bldg map.. even numbers face the gardens and pools odd face parking lots. No elevator to second floor in east/west buildings. We like buildings 3 6 and 7. No fridge in room, bring a cooler. Enjoy!!

I am staying here next week and am a bit nervous after seeing the pictures of the cockroaches. Is this a problem at this hotel? Is the tower much better than the outbuildings?

Walking up, there are beautiful outdoor tables with glass tops where guests can relax, eat, and pretend they're important. Then you walk into the lobby and BAM dark wood floors, elegant furniture, comfortable sofas, and enough atmosphere to make you wonder, Wait what did I accidentally book? I was honestly concerned I'd somehow clicked the wrong hotel and was about to max out my credit card. Nope. Surprisingly affordable. The room? Fantastic. You've got a Keurig machine ready to fuel your caffeine addiction, a nice big TV, all the amenities you need, and then there's THE BED. I laid down for what felt like five minutes and woke up the next morning. I slept harder than a newborn after a bottle. Now let's talk about room service. They have this little stand where you order directly from the steakhouse downstairs. I ordered dinner, expecting hotel prices that require a small bank loan. The bill was $35. I nearly called the front desk to report a pricing error. Meanwhile, I was hungrier than a hostage, and they delivered a meal fit for royalty. For a brief moment, I genuinely felt like a VIP. The hotel also has a nice bar for those who enjoy a drink. I don't drink, but if I did, I probably would've celebrated finally finding the entrance. Bottom line: great atmosphere, beautiful property, comfortable rooms, amazing food, affordable prices, and a mattress that may have supernatural powers. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. Would I still need GPS to find it? Also absolutely.

We were able to go out and about without worrying about driving, which made the trip even more enjoyable. The hotel was easy to find, and parking is conveniently located right across the street with simple in-and-out access (though, of course, there is a parking fee -- which is never fun). Inside, the hotel is very clean, beautifully decorated, and the staff was accommodating throughout our stay. Our room was on the fifth floor, which I actually prefer when staying in a city -- the higher up, the better to avoid street noise. One of my favorite features of Embassy Suites is the room layout. The separation between the living room and bedroom is ideal, especially if someone wants to rest while others are still awake. The rooms have consistently been clean and feel very homey. Everything was great -- until Sunday morning. This is a dog-friendly hotel, which we love since we bring our dog and take her on walks so she's not stuck inside all weekend. However, checkout morning was pure chaos. One of the two elevators was out of service, it was peak checkout time, and there was also a princess pageant event happening, so the hotel was much busier than usual. Trying to get downstairs with my dog was extremely frustrating. I looked for stairs but wasn't sure if they were alarmed. When I asked an employee to confirm, she looked at me like I had five heads, which didn't help my already thin patience (I definitely did not have enough coffee for that situation). I eventually just went downstairs. Coming back up was even worse -- the line for the single working elevator was ridiculous. When I asked the front desk about the stairs, I was told they were accessible from outside. I didn't realize I needed my key card to re-enter through the outdoor stairwell (which makes total sense -- I was just aggravated at that point). After going back inside and trying again, I ended up walking up five flights of stairs with my dog. Thankfully, we had requested a late checkout, so we avoided the absolute peak of the chaos. Our friends on the third floor ended up carrying their luggage down the stairs because waiting for the elevator wasn't worth it. Unfortunately, being on the fifth floor with a lot of luggage, that wasn't really an option for us. Aside from that stressful morning, we really enjoyed our stay. The complimentary evening happy hour with drink tickets and small bites is always a highlight. We also had breakfast on Saturday morning -- and honestly, the breakfast is a major deciding factor whenever we choose to stay at a Hilton. Overall, a great stay with one very frustrating checkout experience.

Lovely place! It was my first time staying in downtown…read moreorlando. The neighborhood is quiet and pretty with a local lake right off the hotel property. City Hall is nearby with lots of office buildings and a few residential high rises. I was there for a concert at the Kia Center and it was about a ten minute walk. There is also a publix and a convenience store within a 5 minute walk. It is very convenient to get to from the airport via bus if you dont mind the ride and about 20 minutes (depending on traffic) from the international outlet mall. The complementary breakfast was decent with my highlight being the strawberry waffle that i was not supposed to eat LOL. Highly recommend this location if you dont want to stay in the more touristy part of orlando.

Universal Orlando cabana bay resort was a great vacation destination,For me and my wife birthdays…read more The room was spacious and the beds were really comfortable. Nice and firm for a get night rest or a nap after being at the pool side for a few hours. Walk in closet big bathroom ,living room was cool as well. The rooms give you that old 1960 vibes with a modern touch. The resort also featured some old vintage 1960 cars similar to the TWA hotel at jfk airport. The resort had some nice places to go to. Me and my wife enjoyed the bowling alley. We had a lot of fun. Don't forget about the shops with all your favorite carton characters t shirts hats slippers you name it Star Wars, the minions the Simpsons fun for kids all ages. We also enjoyed the cabana cafeteria . I had a spicy chicken sandwich with fries my wife had chicken teriyaki lomein full of nice pieces of chicken ,Which she enjoyed .I also had some chicken tenders and fries from the cafeteria on our stay. We also ordered food from door dash while we were in the main lobby. We ordered shake shack which was cheaper ordering from door dash then buying food on the resort, smash burgers well done with cheese fries, for a little vacation cheat because I'm on a diet. By the way the order came really fast. Don The pool was great especially at night the view was amazing. With the lights shining on the pool and the really nice fire pit they had so you can even roast some marshmallows by it. Also the pool features a water slide for kids and adults. The blow up rafts were $9to17. You also could bring your own as well. You also had an ice machine with cold water free. Plus you had the soft drinks and soda all you can drink for $30 . That was the drink packed. Cabana bay resort also had a restaurant right next the pool outside. Where they had some really good chicken quesadillas with fries. My wife enjoyed that. . I went with the chicken wrap with lettuce and some veggies, It was great to eat pool side with the beach chairs equipped with the big umbrella for shade . Then you also had the lazy river at the resort. That featured a bigger water slide and pool . Bigger than the pool outside the main lobby. The staff was courteous and friendly the stay was fun. Just remember it's kinda pricey . But don't forget about all the theme parks you get to visit for $80 each way .

The food: the bowling alley is probably one of the best food options on site (other than the Starbucks) - the salad there was actually quite good and not crazy expensive (though, everything is expensive). We also enjoyed milkshakes from the malt shop. The room was fine - we had a suite with a little kitchenette and it was spacious enough for a few days. **My only real complaint (and the reason for my lower review) was the quality of the furniture. My daughter was leaning against one of the end tables to plug something in on the other side the night before we were hitting Epic Universe early, and it collapsed below her. She fell on top of it and some portion of it punctured her leg (we think a metal pin that was poking out from one of the broken legs). We contacted hotel management, and they came with hotel security who did some basic first aid and took away the broken tables (the other one also broke from her fall). We're grateful she wasn't injured more seriously (at least that we know of yet), but it could have been so much worse if that pin had punctured a more delicate area of her body. It also definitely made the next day at the park a lot harder for her with leg pain, etc. They really need to upgrade/inspect the furniture to make sure it's safe for guests.
