What an amazing stay at the Double Tree Oceanfront Resort in Myrtle Beach Oceanfront beach and pier access with a balcony overlooking the property. All equipped with a lazy river, adult and kiddie pools, water slides, a pool bar and restaurant on site with free pier access with your wrist band!! Amazing for those early sunrise morning and sea collection escapade's There is also a free mini golf course on site, but it was pretty dilapidated and run down. There is free coffee in the morning but being part of the Ellie, we had to walk over to the main building. Wish this was a little bit more convenient. There was only one elevator in the area where we were booked, and this took a while. Loading and unloading took some time. There is plenty of parking as well as a parking garage on site There is an airport that is right next to the property so you can hear it. However, it wasn't really noticeable during sleep and didn't bother us. It is pretty cool to watch the planes takeoff from behind the hotel. read more

We came for overnight stay and checking in was very easy. They upgraded us from double queen to king room. The entire Camus is huge includes Ellie and fishing pier which we could access with our wrist bands we got at check in. It's very nice pier with bar and gift shop and is nice walk out . There's lots of pools both inside and out plus a small lazy river and beach access. Up where registration was there was a full bar with seating in lobby plus a restaurant. It was very busy but you could not hear lot of noise except for planes.. be aware the airport is close by so there's planes close overhead.. I don't mind at all but some will.. it's just about last hotel south end Myrtle beach ! We enjoyed our stay overnight. Beds were comfortable. We had nice balcony looking out on lazy river and could see beach. You don't need to bring shampoo or body wash as they are supplied in shower. I could see staying longer but our visit was short. The worst customer service!! Two clerks helping one customer. The male was doing the talking to another customer. The female just ignored me standing there. I took a picture and will definitely be filing a complaint. When the male clerk finished with the customer, the female clerk still did not offer any help, matter of fact she left and went to the next station. When I finally went up to the male clerk to let him know that I had made reservation, he said, "that's the next station" rude. There is a big sign behind this desk that says, DOUBLETREE HILTON" so wouldn't you think that was for the Doubletree Hilton hotel. Then charged a resort fee and was not told that when I made the reservations. They were going to charge a parking fee until I found out from another hotel because I had a handicap sticker that fee was taken that off. The staff overall was a pleasure and I love how this location sits in the beach but honestly, it simply did not give what I've come to expect from a double tree. The room gave renovated motel room to me. There was an awkward empty space in the room near the balcony that obviously should have had a chair or couch and some art hanging. It really felt like they scrimped on the design and decor. The sink is detached from the bathroom and is basically next to your bed. The drinks at the bar by the pool were NOT GOOD. And the pool on the doubletree side looks like it's weathered one too many storms. read more

This property should be condemned. Tear the place down and give the land to the state. This hotel is neglected and decrepit. It's too bad because the beach is lovely and the state park is divine. When we were checking out, all of the toilets in the women's room, near the reception area / restaurant were all backed up. Apparently, I was told that this happens regularly. 1) The room that we were assigned was very difficult to get to with our luggage, (room 108) was far from the restaurant and the other amenities. I had to carry all the luggage myself until I could finally find a cart. 2) luggage carts: when I finally found carts, the luggage carts were old and warped. There is dirty carpeting material on the bottom of the carts. The top of the carts were sticky and we didn't want to put any of our belongings on the carts. 3) the parking is confusing and there are people smoking in the parking garage. 4) there were large cockroaches in the hallway. I reached out to the front desk on the app and it wasn't really dealt with property. 5) The lazy river and pool at DoubleTree are outdated and dirty. It's dark and seems unsafe for kids. There is moldy areas around the chalking and it's smelly and gross. The bugs ate all over because there is so much stagnant water and mold & grime 6) In our room (108), the counter top at the sink is leaking and the water is getting all over the clothes and the floor in the room since the sink is in the bed area of the room 7) The pathways from the Doubletree to the registration and restaurant are through parking areas and car thoroughfares. Seems very unsafe for pedestrians. 8) The hotel room walls are so thin that I could hear babies and kids through the walls. 9) The bathtub is high from all the chalking and mending and the ceiling is low in the rooms. 10) there is one bottle of water in the room 11) the floors are so dirty throughout the property - the cleaning service seems understaffed, they need more support -the food is good and the service is excellent at the restaurants read more

All I have to say is, this is probably one of the least well maintained Hilton properties I've ever stayed at. This review is mostly reflecting the property itself, the staff were super friendly. I'm a Hilton Diamond loyalty member and I've stayed at thousands of Hilton properties around the world and this was probably top 3 worst Hilton franchise properties. It's my opinion that Hilton needs to revoke their partnership with this franchise owner and motel 6 should consider admitting them. The hallways and general appearance seems to fit more with a different brand. We came here on a Hilton timeshare trip, they were trying to show us how it is to own a timeshare and if this is what it's like then no thank you. There was mold, stains, cracks and punctured walls, ripped moldings and all kinds of nasty stuff all over the property. It was my birthday and I'm a Diamond member so they upgraded us into one of their best rooms, so ours looked better than most of the Horror story pictures here on Yelp, but it basically looked like a motel 6 room with a balcony that had a somewhat far away view of the beach. Nothing to write home about yet somehow these rooms were renting for $500/night , it's absolutely wild. Also, this was even more Insult to injury but they didn't want to accommodate my Hilton Diamond 2pm late checkout that I'm entitled to even with it being my birthday trip! They forced us out or else they were going to charge us. Besides the one interaction with the late checkout. The staff were usually accommodating, gracious, and friendly, and our room was just barely good enough that we were still willing to sleep there, which is why I didn't leave them a one star review and kept it at 2. read more

Stayed at this hotel in an ocean front room for three nights. Overall I had a pleasant stay. The room was spacious and clean. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. The room had a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Room had a balcony that overlooked the swimming pool. I stayed on the 3rd floor and the view of the ocean and springmaid pier on the side were wonderful. Grounds were kept tidy. Car parking extended to the top floors of the hotel. So, it was pretty convenient. There are two restaurants on the hotel grounds and they had pretty good food. Pros: Hotel was pretty close to the airport, it barely took 10 mins to get to the hotel from the airport. I arrived very late at night and wanted to hit the bed asap. Cons: Hotel was pretty close to the airport. It looked like I probably could touch the plane if I was standing on the top most floor of the hotel. On the first day, I got startled a few times from the sound of the planes flying above the hotel. Rushed out to see what was going on. It was not too terrible though, since the frequency of the flights was not that bad. It didn't bother my sleep at night. read more

everything can improve. we have a 1 year old and the pack n play is actually broken we drove 13 hours and the night before i called and did my early check in they said yes we will take care of everything arrived at noon, the room still wasnt ready, no pack n play to be found, we asked for a room that we can make as dark as possible for his naps nope curtains barely cover the windows and none of our white noise machines worked with the outlets. i have travelled to many different hilton resorts and hotels this is ny far the absolute worst i have ever stayed in. on top of this the pool area has no waiters so you cant bring your child into the 18 & up to feed him by the pool for a quick lunch. i honestly wouldn't even rate this place. read more

This hotel was selected as the place for the IEEE meeting for September. First impressions are everything and this did not hit me as someplace I would ever choose to stay. Upon arrival, we were not quite sure where to go to check into our room. We were dropped off at an open space of concrete where some folks were playing table games. There was no one to direct us to the second floor, which we figured out we needed to take to get to the reservation desk. So let me start out with the positives: the staff was incredibly nice and super friendly. Checking into our room we walked into a big puddle of water on the floor in front of the refrigerator. We immediately called the front desk to alert them to the situation. Because we to the hotel late, we didn't unpack as we were not sure we would have to go to another room. But a gentleman showed up and assessed the situation and took care of things. It seems that the refrigerator was turned off to defrost it and I guess housekeeping was supposed to put towels inside to catch the water but didn't. The maintenance guy cleaned up the mess and confirmed that the frig was ok. He was very nice and helpful, telling us to give him a call if there was anything else we needed. We ended up tipping him, which he didn't want to take, so we really insisted because he was quick, professional and responsive so late at night. Most of the staff were like this, just responsive and ready to help. And they are the reason this review is getting two instead of one star. Now for the cons. This hotel creeped me all the way out. Our room was ok for the most part, the bed was comfy and I could smell the cleaning products on the bed linen and towel, but man there was visible neglect all over the place. If you look at the photo of the door frame, from top to bottom it was covered with some sort of dirt, fuzz, I don't know. Didn't want to think about it but tried to clean it as best as I could. The carpet didn't look all that clean so trust me, my feet never hit that floor without shoes. The hotel feels more like a motel. The rooms are along long stretches of walkways, with your door being assessible by anyone. The section we stayed in was completely open, with anyone being able to take the elevator up to the room, even if they are not staying in the hotel. Elevator to our floor was really on the street as far as I was concerned because anyone could walk into the parking lot and access them to any floor. The night we checked in, I wanted to get something to eat from the bar and found myself walking through a semi-lighted parking lot. I was so creeped out, watching to make sure no one was following me. Going back to the room was no bargain either as the walkways were dark. I am guessing that the idea was that since the walkway was on the outside, no lights were needed. The next day I was able to figure out a way to not have to walk through the parking lot by cutting through the conference room entrances to get to the bar and restaurant. But overall, I did not feel comfortable walking through those dark walkways and that parking lot. The pool looked fine, but don't bother with the cabanas. They were only $50 to rent for the day, but the condition of the cushions on the lounge seats and the general cleanliness was less than desired. I had to use towels to wipe down the cushions, which had a lot of wear and tear (literally). I couldn't completely clean them, so me and The Doctor ended up sitting on a lot of towels that I spread all over the cushions so we were sitting on those instead. There was a small bar where you could order food and drinks, with the bartender being really nice. The lobby definitely conveys a different feel than the rest of the hotel and it is deceiving. The lobby and restaurant and deck looks like a Hilton, but once you leave that area, you are entering the Bates Hotel realm. I would definitely not pick this place to stay at. It needs a major rehab and I am not sure why that has not happened. They may want to think about it as there is a brand new Holiday Inn being built next door. read more

An ok visit for a very old hotel. You can tell the place has been renovated, but old still shows in many places. The staircase looks like it's out of a New York subway. It is so dirty. If you take the elevator, you're good to go. I like stairs cause I don't get much exercise on vacation. The wife went barefoot in the room and within an hour her feet were black. We have not traveled with a block to attach our charging cables to in years. It's 2025, and this hotel had zero USB hook ups in the room. Not even the lamp which is the easiest to swap out they could do. As in Hilton honors member, I am getting discouraged as they seem to lower their standards significantly just to add their brand. But the level of service and quality of environment is far from Hilton quality. But maybe that's changing. Susan that check-in was great. Give us an early check-in and it really made our stay longer than it should've been. So we got a lot done. Pools are not heated. Again every corner you turn is old and older. I guess they're doing the best they can, but they should not be wearing a Hilton badge at all in my opinion. read more

Run down, you can hear everything in the next room- why not spread rooms out, there was hardly anyone there yet you put people in a room right next to us, with a door connecting the two rooms, it was like it was open. They smoked, the smell come right under the door- they screamed, I am not exaggerating, yelled and screamed two nights in a row at all hours of the night, we couldn't wait to get out of there. So unfortunate AND you want to charge $25 a day to park... there was NO one there! read more

Room was pretty basic although it was nice having 2 kings. We didn't have our kids with us but I'm sure they would have enjoyed the slides at the pool. Access to beach was super close. Location isn't great. It's pretty far from the main area of Myrtle Beach. Safety wise was fine though. Overall for the price we paid it was good, but probably wouldn't choose it again if we came back. Oh and what Doubletree doesn't give you a cookie? Lol read more

We stayed here for 3 nights, 4 days in early May 2022. My husband used points to pay for the hotel. Hotel was good sized. It is right off the beach. There are a couple of outdoor pools and a kiddie pool. There is no hot tub, at least not that we found. There is a fitness room but I did not use it on this trip. The front desk staff was very friendly, courteous and professional. If you would like bottled water, they will give you some. They did do an upgrade for my husband and offered him $30 per day of free food/drinks from the bar. They said because he has so many points or is a great customer. Not sure if they have levels or what. Our room was clean and pleasant. There is a TV with a lot of channels. They also had a fantastic balcony with a lovely view of the ocean. We sat out on the balcony one morning and watched the sunrise. My husband sat out there all the nights and drank a beer and enjoyed the sound of the ocean. There were plenty of towels. There is a mini fridge. wifi worked just fine for us. Water in shower had plenty of pressure and got very hot for us. We opted to turn it down because it was pretty hot (just throwing this in there because of some of the negative reviews) We needed more sheets at one point and we just asked front desk and they happily brought us some. Cons : *you have to pay for parking. seems like when you pay for a room the parking should come with the price? *the room was a little dated (BUT still very pleasant). The pillows however were extremely uncomfortable. My husband ended up with neck issues after our stay because the pillows really do need replaced. *not a big deal, but no hair blow dryer. Would be nice to have one. Especially since this is a beach property. *the airport is near by and you will have planes flying over frequently. If you are a light sleeper that is something to keep in mind. *no free breakfast *hotel restaurant was too expensive for us to eat there. My husband booked this trip through Hilton's timeshare....which meant cheap rate but you had to sit through a 3 HOUR presentation and tour. Our room was on the 5th floor with a full ocean view (which we paid extra for). Our small balcony had enough room for two chairs and a small table. It overlooked the lazy river below and the ocean and pier. The room was clean, but dated. You could clearly see that there had been water damage at some point and they had not really fixed the ceiling. There were also cracks in the ceiling and some floor tile. One of our lights didn't work and the outside/balcony light didn't work. Mini fridge was soooo tiny! The shower was plenty hot and had great pressure. The bathroom is tiny! The door almost touches the toilet. The staff at the desk were nice. If you wanted your room cleaned or needed towels, etc...you had to schedule it. Except for our last day--then they were banging on your door at 9am even though checkout isn't until 11am. (We did complain about this when we checked out.) The beach is decent. The bigger outdoor pool is nice, but needs more seating. (No one used the private cabanas you could rent. Wasted space.) The restaurant in the lobby looked okay. We sat in the bar our first night there and had pizza and a drink. My one drink was $12!! (And the bucket drinks are $18.50) We also had lunch one day by the pool from the pool bar. Otherwise, we had snacks in our room or went to eat elsewhere. But, be careful if you leave. You may not get a parking spot when you get back. This place needs way more parking!!!! We found out from our timeshare meeting that this place is on red flag status with Hilton and is getting ready to be kicked out of their "group" for not doing the things they were supposed to for upgrades, etc. The Hilton people kept apologizing to us. But the room was pretty awesome but not worth $309 a night maybe $150, $175 but Definately not worth $309 a night. Most disappointing! As a HGV Owner and a Hilton Honors member, I expect better. A balcony door that doesn't open, dirty and ill kept common areas highlight my displeasure. The room wasn't prepared for our arrival and although clean only had one set of towels for my friend and I. Next day at breakfast, the restaurant ran out of turkey sausage and bacon! I don't eat pork and thus no breakfast meat available, yet I'm charged full price for a meal that should have included a meat. After two days, we checked out and went to another hotel where I paid full price and had a much better experience! Hilton really needs to get their stuff together. I am a Diamond with the Hilton Honors program and this stay was paid for with cash rather than points. Yes, the hotel is right on the water. I used the app to choose the end room on the fourth floor and it had a fabulous view with a bonus window that looked directly out to the Ocean. A few problems. The digital key did not work. I had to get back into the car and drive to the lobby to get a replacement key card. On the plus side, the young lady at the registration desk also sent maintenance to meet me in case the key card did not work. It worked and the maintenance man arrived shortly after we entered the room. That's great responsiveness. Our room had a connecting door to the next room. I hate these. We had some noise from next door including every so often we heard barking from the dogs there. Not so bad in the afternoon, but at 6:05 AM? $22 resort charge is plain dumb. There was a leak somewhere near the window that left some of the carpet a little wet. The door to the balcony locked but it was quite loose. I'd bet a strong pull could open it. Plenty of parking and the wifi worked well. Beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Other than the dog, it was quiet. We loved being right on the beach and listening to the surf. When I say "on the beach" we were not even 50 yards from the water. I would have to imagine this place is crazy during high season and therefore quite loud. My reservation did not say that it was in the Caravelle Tower but that's what I got. My room was old and needs renovation. I've stayed here twice, in the two different buildings they have. Both experiences have been in the off season: December - March. I can only imagine how nice this place is during prime time. It's the southern most point of Myrtle Beach, so you can drive down to the action, or just soak in the more distant part. The rooms are spacious in both buildings and all rooms have a balcony facing the ocean. How good your view is will just depend on your location. The second time we had the indoor pool building partly obstructing our view, but we could still see the ocean. They've got a small gym. They also have a restaurant which offers a great breakfast deal for diamond members. Definitely worth eating here every day, which we did on our second stay. read more

I attended a conference here and the location was beautiful, I was slightly disappointed by the amount of construction. As a matter of fact it was very hard to find the entrance with all of the trucks parked everywhere. My room was nice, clean and comfortable. This must have been the trip for experiences because I had a bunch of fun ones. The first night I was there, the conference ended at 10; I walked to my room only to find out the door card reader wouldn't work. I was on the 5th floor and had to head all the way down to the desk. The attendant at the desk was nice and told me that the card reader must have died. I went back to my room and waited 30 minutes for the maintenance worker to come up. He was very personable and apologized for how long it took to arrive and get the door open. The second day, as the conference ended and I went back to my room, the fire alarm started going off while I was in the elevator, talk about an adrenaline rush, I was worried that it was going to get stuck. He alarm went off for thirty minutes and I saw a maintenance worker asked him if there was an emergency etc and he told me he didn't think so and it was probably just going off. The food was good during the conference, the meal service was exceptional. I would like to visit again to see if the circumstances are different and I have a better experience. read more

Everything was great! The staff was very kind and helpful. We had to get extra wrist bands because we lost mine in the pool and they completely understood. Even when we needed extra room keys they very considerate. Not to mention how nice the room was. It was very nice and comfortable. Only downside was the pillows. If you stay here before the planned renovation you will regret it. We made reservations for 4 nights and our key cards were deactivated after the first night. For no reason. Because the internet access is so awful I was unable to utilize the digital key card; this required me to visit the front desk again. I waited in line for more than 15 minutes behind ONE customer who was checking in. The only employee present (there were two women in the office connected to the desk) seemed unable to do his job. He left the desk twice during this time. When one of the women came out of the office to help take care of the rest of us in line, she did not mention or apologize for the excessive wait. This property is quite old/outdated. I attached photos of the views from our balcony. The heavy equipment worked during the daytime. The locations of the elevators are not convenient and somewhat hard to find. This place is an absolute mess. Part of it is shut down and blocked off; hard to tell if it's waiting for a renovation or to be knocked down. If you think you're getting a good deal/nightly rate, please consider the customer reviews. The level of customer service at the front desk was an awful start to our vacation. Because there is no free continental breakfast we tried the restaurant on site. Our simple breakfast was $42 (for 2) before tip. If you're looking for great restaurants, we strongly recommend Blueberry Grill for breakfast/lunch and Joe's Bar & Grill and Crave for lunch/supper. We will never return to this Doubletree location and strongly encourage the same to anyone reading this. read more

Had to take the time to give this review.... Top notch service from when we check in until we checked out. This place is close to all the local attractions, right on the beach and has a great pool, restaurant and bar. They even let us check out late :) Highly recommend this hotel. 3 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars from us. read more

The hospitality, patience and kindness of the people here is unmatched! From Denise to whom I spoke with on the phone before arrival, to Mike the bellhop and Jamila (in training) but you really wouldn't know she was if it wasn't for her name tag saying "Training" because she was so superb. I am not much of a complainer when it comes to hotels, but this one was rough. I have stayed at better 2 Star Hampton Inns. Was in town for business and glad I only had one night here. Would have been very disappointed to have brought my family her for vacation. The hotel has outside breeze way room doors so anyone can just walk up to any room door they want any time. The shower had lukewarm water at best, and this was at 0600 in the morning so it's not like a lot of it had been used. The bathroom had towel fixtures falling off the walls and the soap rack in the shower was rusted out. All in all the property was laid out weird and wasn't maintained very well. Not a good look for the Double Tree brand. read more
