I called Johnnie Fletcher, one of the owners of K.J.'s Carpet Cleaning & Repair, on Sunday afternoon (expecting to leave a message on his work phone) for an appointment to clean my living room rug where a dog had had an accident and peed, and later threw up her supper. To my surprise, he actually answered and by Monday I had an appointment set up for Thursday morning to clean my rug.
K.J.'s is who I called when we needed the carpet cleaned, or repairs were needed, at the hotel where I worked. Johnnie & his brother typically showed up either the same day I called, or the next, and showed up on time, completed the work timely, efficiently, always with minimal downtime (since It's important for a hotel to fill as many rooms as possible) and always at a reasonable rate.
My appointment was set for 9am, Johnnie arrived 15 minutes early and fully prepared to do the clean my area rug. Because there is a minimum charge, and because my rug was not very large, he asked if I had any carpeted rooms, since he wanted me to receive my money's worth. I actually had 2 bedrooms which he cleaned the carpet in them, as well as two upholstered chairs in the living room he did as well!
When he arrived, he looked at my rug, tested for moisture, explained what needed to be done, explained the equipment he was going to use. He then sprayed a pretreatment on the rug, and steamed cleaned it. Where the dog had had the accident, he sprayed another treatment on it and went over it again to extract the cleaner and to remove the stain. To my amazement the second treatment lifted the urine stain out of the rug! He even steam cleaned my kitchen runner as lagniappe! Once the living room rug was cleaned, he put a blower on it to help it dry while he cleaned the two bedrooms.
While he was here, I decided to have him take a look at my two bathrooms for them to steam clean the tile floor and walls and after he sends me the cost, I will be setting up an appointment for that work as well.
