We needed to make some account changes to the trust about five years ago and his wife/assistant manage the communication between Mr. Hess and my folks, she was very impatient and is not the easiest person to work with. Not the most pleasant encounters I've ever witnessed. You would think when somebody is preparing trust documents which are very sensitive and personal series of documents that there would be a little compassion and caring. This was not the case. Now that parents have passed we have been reviewing the trust documents. In attempting to reach Mr. Hess at his office leaving multiple messages and inquiries via email we FINALLY got a call a month later, unapologetic and absolutely no additional follow up. Based on the non-communication of our inquiries we hired another attorney who indicated that some of the verbiage and details in the trust we're not prepared correctly. This review is based on our personal experience. If he was recommended to you by word of mouth. I would suggest interviewing him and getting a feel of his and his office staff demeanor before handing over a payment or retainer.
