One I think would have been completely avoided with a more experienced, empathetic and advocacy minded doula. I have a long list of reasons I regret hiring Keely but all I think that really matters is that I'm certain my birth experience was made considerably worse as a direct result of her involvement. I personally really enjoyed taking her yoga classes at Golden Sol in Los Feliz, she has an extensive array of knowledge - from pregnancy to birth and the journey onward into motherhood. I felt supported and empowered by the information Sada supplied me with. My husband and I also took private childbirth ed classes with her. Sada seemed to be especially passionate about home-birth, but when I would see her interact with women having hospital births she had SO MUCH information to share with them about the hospitals and doctors they'd be working with. It was amazing really, and part of the reason I was so drawn to working with her. My labor was about 33.5 hours total, and at the first sign of labor (my labor started hard and fast) Sada came over and sat with me so my husband could get some rest since we had a big day ahead. When she came back the next afternoon, I was still laboring, and completely exhausted. She helped me (and my team) stay focused, and was the strong energy I needed to get through my slow labor. Leading up to my labor Sada was a continuous support system for my husband and I. She checked in with me, counseled me, hugged me when I needed a hug and really took the time to dive in deep so that she could help me have the experience I wanted. After my baby was born, we had a lovely visit a few days later sharing fruit, gawking at all the hair on my sweet babes head, and discussed the happenings of my birth. : ) I ended up making smoothies with my placenta, so i did not need to utilize LABK's placenta medicine services, but Emiliee did teach me how to make a tincture just incase I wanted to make one with any left over placenta (which I ended up doing). Sada was lovely to work with, and I just wish she did postpartum classes because I miss her! :)

Always a fun mix of women who go there, and I know the business can't control who signs up for classes but I wish more POC women and couples went. My first circle it was very intimidating being the only POC there.

She made me feel safe and loved during a very vulnerable time. And that feeling never wavered, from fist meeting all the way through birth and after. I will always remember her bringing me some eggs and toast- just what I wanted. I was naked in bed, blissed out, eating my breakfast with my new baby beside me and she was just like an angel in the room. Rebecca is deeply kind and professional. She connected me with my midwife, and that single introduction changed the entire trajectory of my birth experience. I truly believe things unfolded the way they did in large part because of her. And then there are the photos. Rebecca captured moments during my labor and birth that I never could have seen with my own eyes. Those images are some (most) of the most treasured things I possess. I look at them and it bring me back to one of the greatest moments of my life and I will never forget it because of her. Rebecca didn't just support my birth -- she helped hold the whole experience for me, so I could be fully present in it. I will be grateful to her for the rest of my life. Yet, those details seemed disregarded, as the feedback almost always boiled down to a generic "you'll have to let the baby cry," delivered in a reassuring but repetitive way. Months later, we're still struggling to get our child to sleep independently. We received no follow-up documents, no lasting framework, and no practical tools to help us move forward. After spending over $1,000, we were left feeling misled, frustrated, and uncertain about what to do next. If you're considering hiring Brandi, I urge you to think carefully. We contracted Brandi Jordan as a sleep consultant in June 2025 when we were in a truly desperate situation; I was hallucinating from sleep deprivation and suffering terrible postpartum depression. In hindsight, I figure that's how we fell for this. We paid over $1500 and here's what we got: a single one hour Zoom, a single 30 minute phone call about a week later (for which she was 20 minutes late), and 30-40 days of "text support," though there were several instances where she did not respond for three days despite our texts. I felt "left on read." To be fair to her, it was in our contract that this is what we could get: a one hour zoom, up to 3 follow-up calls and 30 days of text support. When I signed the contract, I did think this was sort of minimal, but I was desperate and figured "hey, maybe she can work magic." At our initial Zoom call, she said she had "never met a baby that couldn't sleep through the night after 2-3 weeks, max," so we were thrilled and hopeful! Now I know why this is true; she doesn't actually *meet* the babies- It's all virtual! She absolutely cannot work magic; please don't fall for this marketing that preys on desperate parents like we did. I feel stupid for having believed her. As other reviews have said, there is no individual tailoring, and the method she uses is essentially soft Ferberizing: letting the baby cry and cry with intermittent check-ins that get progressively longer. This was torture for all of us. Our baby was born extremely prematurely at 26 weeks and spent nearly 3 months in the NICU before coming home on oxygen. We did this contract when she was about 9 months old (6 months adjusted). We were obviously all still traumatized, and she had a lot of difficulty self-soothing at all. There was no troubleshooting about what how her and our individual situation might be contributing to sleep issues. Listening to her cry for 90 minutes in the middle of the night resulted in my self-harming several times (again, I had bad PPD). We did it though, because Brandi told us to. How it would work is that every morning we would text Brandi how the night went, and she would maybe respond that day saying something like "okay let's do that again" or "let's push this feed back 15 minutes" or something. A lot of the time she just wouldn't respond. I gave two stars because after the 30-40 days, our baby was sleeping a bit better than at the beginning (only 2-4 wakeups a night instead of 10). Additionally, this is way too expensive for such minimal support. You can find all this information online (Ferber with intermittent check-ins and dream feeds). Maybe if you have a normal or semi-easy baby this would work, but otherwise only time will help. Our baby is now 1 and wakes up about once a night every other night; only time got us here.

I knew in my bones that a home birth was what I desired, but having this happen so close to me shook my confidence and sparked so much fear in me. During my birth, Julia held my hand every step of the way. She was proactive in her approach, giving me positions to hold that resulted in direct progression of labor, all while being very attuned to me and the baby throughout the process. They covered every aspect of the third trimester, labor, delivery, and even newborn care and breastfeeding. Since I was going to be in the delivery room I wanted to be able to be a real help to my daughter. When the time came to head to the hospital Tracy was available to help and support my daughter with real time suggestions for early labor and beyond. And when there were some complications I knew the questions to ask the doctor and nurses because Tracy had taught me how to seek out the relevant information so that my daughter could make the best decisions for her baby and for herself. Tracy's wealth of experience and knowledge is amazing and was incredibly helpful. Her caring, calm demeanor and thoughtfulness was everything we wanted and more. Tracy truly is the BEST!

However, she told us that she wouldn't be able to attend our baby's birth due to COVID concerns and that she has an assistant doula she's very confident in that will be there for the day of. On the day of, the assistant doula showed up and was not helpful at all. This was her 4th time being a doula. I was clearly in so much pain, but she didn't proactively offer me any advice, a new position to try, or anything motivational. The only thing she did was take out essential oils which didn't do anything for me. I honestly feel like I paid thousands of dollars just to have another body in the room. My husband had to proactively ask her, "Hey, her legs are sore, can you help me massage them. Hey, can you call Tracy and ask what else we can do? Hey, are there other positions we should be trying?"
