My heart is so full. When I found out 2 weeks postpartum that I wasn't producing enough milk for our baby to gain weight, I was devastated. This had also happened with our first baby, and I was never able to breastfeed her. This time I was determined to find the right help and not give up. I had 3-4 consultations with online lactation consultants but was receiving conflicting information, and nothing really seemed to help. I was overwhelmed, tired and on the verge of giving up. In a last-ditch effort, I did a google search of lactation specialists in our area. I found two. Kim seemed pretty great, so I called her. She called back within 10 minutes and booked me for the next day. Wow. Our interactions with her were ALL like that. She has made such a difference. Kim is professional, prompt and responsive. And at the same time, in person she is calm, relaxed and never in a rush. I cannot thank Kim enough for the impact she's had on me and my family. My daughter was born premature and spent 10 days in the NICU before coming home. At 3w pp my milk supply was plateauing at 500ml/day and my daughter was refusing to nurse. I met with Kim virtually and within a week of following her instructions my milk supply started increasing again and my daughter latched! A couple months later we met in person and Kim identified that my daughter has a posterior tongue tie (something the lactation consultants, doctors, and nurses in the hospital missed!) Kim saved my journey! I breastfed my baby for 2 months, dreading every time he was hungry, and wondering when the pain would eventually go away. I really needed help and decided it might be a good idea to see someone or I may have to stop breastfeeding. I found Kim through instagram and immediately made an appointment. Kim saved us!!! I had worked with 3 other lactation consultants prior to working with Kim with no progress until divine intervention happened. She had come HIGHLY recommended to my dear friend who was helping me find the support I needed, and it was through her that I was connected to Kim. Kim was a huge help in my csection recovery. I was able to get a lot of rest when she came to help my family as a night doula. She was really reliable, often early, and always cleaned the bottles that were used overnight. Even after helping another client with her labor and delivery, she came to help me that same day. I totally would've understood if she had to cancel, but she was really there for us. My baby is hard to burp and is very gassy. Kim was a wealth of knowledge in helping with his discomfort. She suggested gripe water, white noise machines, Dr Brown bottles, and different swaddles - all of which I wish I'd tried with my first kid.
