I reached out to Kim after having trouble breast-feeding two weeks after giving birth to our son. I am so thankful for her expertise, I wish I had contacted her sooner. She explained to us that even though the hospital had performed a frenectomy on his tongue, the procedure was not done correctly which was contributing to his poor latch and referred us to a local pediatric dentist with proper training. Without receiving that direction, I would've continued struggling and delayed his growth. I followed Kim on IG a while ago before becoming pregnant, thinking it would be nice to have her in mind incase any future issues come up. Fast forward, my daughter is born and we have latching issues, which I didn't have with my first born. In fact, complete opposite problems. My heart is so full. When I found out 2 weeks postpartum that I wasn't producing enough milk for our baby to gain weight, I was devastated. This had also happened with our first baby, and I was never able to breastfeed her. This time I was determined to find the right help and not give up. I had 3-4 consultations with online lactation consultants but was receiving conflicting information, and nothing really seemed to help. I was overwhelmed, tired and on the verge of giving up. In a last-ditch effort, I did a google search of lactation specialists in our area. I found two. Kim seemed pretty great, so I called her. She called back within 10 minutes and booked me for the next day. Wow. Our interactions with her were ALL like that. She has made such a difference. Kim is professional, prompt and responsive. And at the same time, in person she is calm, relaxed and never in a rush. She has been such a strong and reassuring presence in our family during what is (at least for me) a very exhausting and emotional time. With one simple tweak from her toolkit during our initial consultation, I already was producing more milk. And within hours of that first visit, Kim provided a list of supplements and resources I could try. I ordered them immediately, and that first week my milk production doubled. She followed up every few days for the first several weeks, made herself available for questions. She was always prompt to reply. She truly was the support I needed. We are six weeks into this journey with Kim, and our son is now latching as often as he can. I may never have the supply I wish I did. My appointment with Kim went great. She listened well, answered questions, and was very thorough and knowledgeable about breastfeeding in her assessment of my newborn. She saw a tongue tie and referred us to a dentist to get it evaluated and released if we wanted. It was such a relief to have an answer to the issues we were having that other people I saw would just brush over because my baby was 'feeding well' and gaining weight. I cannot thank Kim enough for the impact she's had on me and my family. My daughter was born premature and spent 10 days in the NICU before coming home. At 3w pp my milk supply was plateauing at 500ml/day and my daughter was refusing to nurse. I met with Kim virtually and within a week of following her instructions my milk supply started increasing again and my daughter latched! A couple months later we met in person and Kim identified that my daughter has a posterior tongue tie (something the lactation consultants, doctors, and nurses in the hospital missed!) In addition Kim has been wonderfully responsive and organized. She checks in to see how I'm doing, and provides a very detailed care plan with lots of resources after each visit. Kim saved my journey! I breastfed my baby for 2 months, dreading every time he was hungry, and wondering when the pain would eventually go away. I really needed help and decided it might be a good idea to see someone or I may have to stop breastfeeding. I found Kim through instagram and immediately made an appointment. Her office made me feel very welcome and comfortable. After nursing my baby and a quick exam of his mouth, Kim discovered he had a tongue and lip tie. She referred me to a pediatric dentist (Dr Kaur in Modesto) but also said she would be able to help me work on his latch if I decided not to correct his ties. After getting the ties released and getting great pointers/videos/advice on tongue exercises, my baby's latch could not be better. I feel like I'm no longer counting down the days of nursing, and I can finally enjoy this stage with my baby! We always looked forward to Kim coming for postpartum care! It is 100% worth the investment to not be a zombie and a happy marriage through what could be a sleep deprived time. We hired her for 8 weeks.  I had a complicated emergency c section that left recovery pretty brutal. First of all, she was so responsive and great with our babe. Nonjudgmental support, respected our wishes if there was something in particular we wanted to use or not use i.e. no sleeping in dock a tot or a particular swaddle. If we left baby laundry out, she would take it upon herself to fold it. Took care of baby dishes. Provided resources as needed for lactation support but also was very knowledgeable and able to assist me as a ftm attempting the breastfeed. Kim saved us!!! I had worked with 3 other lactation consultants prior to working with Kim with no progress until divine intervention happened. She had come HIGHLY recommended to my dear friend who was helping me find the support I needed, and it was through her that I was connected to Kim. We had been told our baby had "mild tongue tie" but we really didn't comprehend the extent of this diagnosis and so we had been on the fence about the procedure. I live very far from her but she found time to come to my place and check things out herself. It was 2-3 weeks after birth and I was going through a lot of things. She suggested I go to the Doctor for tongue tie while pediatricians and other LC said it was fine. I went to ENT and he said we need a tongue tie removal procedure. There are a lot of other things as well. She helped me build my milk supply with informative videos. She gave me different product information. Kim was a huge help in my csection recovery. I was able to get a lot of rest when she came to help my family as a night doula. She was really reliable, often early, and always cleaned the bottles that were used overnight. Even after helping another client with her labor and delivery, she came to help me that same day. I totally would've understood if she had to cancel, but she was really there for us. My baby is hard to burp and is very gassy. Kim was a wealth of knowledge in helping with his discomfort. She suggested gripe water, white noise machines, Dr Brown bottles, and different swaddles - all of which I wish I'd tried with my first kid. She also taught me how to feed my baby to fall asleep better at night with positioning and head stroking. All of these suggestions helped me and my baby tremendously! We hired Kim for postpartum/overnight support for our second baby, and she was a lifesaver. Our daughter is an especially fussy baby, and there were nights when she would only sleep when held.
