The burger was good. However, I have some medical issues and this restaurant is in an old building and the floors are uneven. A more able person wouldn't have an issue. It was hard for me to navigate the floors. Also note that there is a bar and high top tables. I did not see any regular height tables. Sometimes people have issues getting on a stool and maintaining balance. read more

This is a local tavern! It's not touristy but people come in and hug each other. It's loud on game days! So what!! If you don't want to hear offensive language at the referees, don't come. But if you want some solid food, lots of TVs, and to be around the local atmosphere, this is your spot. There are 4 different seating areas all with big screens on. For wine expect house, ok. 9 beers on tap and many bottle options. They also have a full bar. We came in with backpacks and could plug in! We pulled in the parking lot and it was full. Great sign! Would definitely come back! We started with fried mushrooms. Then shared the mushroom burger with onion rings and BBQ pineapple bacon wings. Was there for 2 1/2 hours, nobody came to us, by the time we even got our check at the end it was a 40 minute wait before my girlfriend had to go to the bar after multiple attempts of flagging them down. Wings were dry and there was some weird debris floating in my beer. This place needs shut down. read more

I don't like Westlake. I will go out there from time to time for Trader Joe's runs or to Gale's Garden Center. When I hear the word Westlake I think of yuppies and rich people that I would not get along with. Dover Gardens gives me hope for Westlake. It is a normal neighborhood bar with friendly bartenders and patrons. Very kind people all around. Met my buddy who was in town for Seattle and had a few drinks and some wings. ULTIMATE DIVE BAR Clean as a whistle, great bartendresses, GREAT BURGERS. I usually get the demon burger (Westlake demons) it's a bacon bleu burg at medium and it's great. They do a burger day where u get the burg & excellent cut fries and then a draft of labatt for 1 cent. Well the draft was pretty lousy blehhh so stick with the miller lite bottle! I don't know here, But some bars the disco keg is the one that didn't sell and longggg in the tooth. Burgs are like 10 bucks and excellent. The fries u can upgrade to waffle fries & cheese dip for extra but it's worth it. A great snack on their own. If they'd renovate the Johns that would be great. I've never been in the ladies room but I'm sure it's the same. Should've done that when they reopened after the unfortunate drive thru wreck. 3 star dive bar packed with regulars. Tried to order drinks and bartender claimed our ID's were fake when they weren't. After arguing about it we used Snapchat AI to prove she was wrong and then she finally served us. Great dive! Not too divey (aka it's clean). Friendly staff and good food! The burger was very tasty and the fries are perfect kind to top off with malt vinegar. We started going to Dover about 4 years ago celebrated many family events there and honestly over the years it was a great place with excellent service. Most recently however, the service has been sub par and the people we enjoyed going to see are no longer there it seems. We have a special family celebration and the guest of honor wanted to go to Dover. However, when finding out the usual faces we have come to enjoy are not there and neither is the service we will be looking elsewhere to celebrate. You had a good thing not sure why you've decided to mess that up! Bring back Greg and Brandon!! They always greeted us with a smile, gave great service and hustled. We use to come religiously every weekend of late maybe once a month. Service has suffered, you can barely get a drink and no one greets you unless we get lucky and maybe see Bobby and Gabby, the only ones left we would come to see at this point. Seems they work opposite shifts from our visits. People patronize local establishments because of the familiar faces and being recognized when they walk in the door. You have destroyed that for us what a shame. Very disappointed that we now have to try and find another local bar. Just had dinner and beers at Dover Gardens. We have been there many times before, but not as often during CoVid . The other couple that we were with were very happy with their food and the service also. It was busy but the staff were very attentive and friendly. Awesome westside hang-out, all ages, not overrun like some places can get. Excellent tap selection, many local faves but also the stand-bus as well. In a city overrun with all sorts of corporate restaurants and drinking establishments the Dirty Gardens is a true gem. I had my first drink here in 1996 and I can tell you nothing has really changed except for the bar stools and they cleaned/painted the ceilings and walls. Oh and the driveway is not gravel anymore. It has since been paved. P.S. don't try and learn how to ride a motorcycle buzzed and on gravel. They have really stepped up their game as far as craft beer selection and taking care of their tap system while maintaining that old school Brothel feel. Yes this was a Brother way back in the day and I am pretty sure this is the oldest standing structure in Westlake. Stop in and sing or watch people make fools of themselves on the weekends singing Karaoke with Marie. The infux of collared custies that someone spoke of in previous reviews are people exiling from the Ironwood down the street. Nobody will or should pay those prices for bottled craft beer. I've always had great service at this place until last night. We went and ordered boneless wings and waffle fries. The fries were over cooked, dry , and hard. At first they brought out bone in wings and when realized we weren't eating them waiter said ill take them back and we'll "fuck them up" meaning the staff will eat them. No big deal. We all laughed it off. However the shock came when we got our bill. One of the people I was with asked for a margarita. This dude charged her $11 per marg!!! He never asked what tequila just assumed (for the sake of his tip) and used good stuff. Then he seemed like he was on something because just talked the whole time making stupid obnoxious jokes.
