This past week was crunch time in the office. The plumbing issues at home was really not helping the situation. I Googled plumbing services in Brooklyn and yelp was one of the first options, so I hopped on it and saw Dovis yelping reviews. I was hesitant to call on Sunday, thinking that they're probably too busy to see me this week but a very nice gentleman answered the phone and set me up for a Tuesday appointment (this morning). It happened to be Dovi who showed up promptly at 9am to take a look at my sink leak. I don't know much about plumbing but Dovis really helped me understand what the issue was, where it most likely originated from and how to resolve it in the best way. He told me I needed a certain pipe replaced which he might have in the truck. Sure enough he came back a couple minutes later and installed the piece where there on the spot! The process was so sweet for a service company, especially for a plumbing job. I figured with such a professional experience, he would surely make me pay for it. But considering i was paying out of pocket, i found his pricing very reasonable for the nature of the job. For years we've alternated between a local big name but over priced company and small "one man shows". but finally we've found a happy balance. Dovis identified the source of a leak (water in the basement was coming from the 2nd floor) and installed a new back yard hose connection for less money than the "big local" quoted for just the new hose connection. Extremely unhappy. Very expensive. Paid about ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for only three hours of work (with a young man helping him). Would not tell me the prices of the individual things... I think he just charged me the most he thought I would pay. Not only that, but he only fixed 6 of the 8 items, but said he would charge me full price anyways because he tried. Fixing it doesn't matter. Talking to other people I clearly overpaid by HUNDREDS of dollars. Then he broke something. He did come back to look at it, but then I ended up paying MORE labor for him to completely change out the faucet since the old one was now destroyed. We found Dovis recently when we were looking to replace our water heater. After three straight days of cold water, we were extremely happy when Dovis told us he'd be able to get us a new water heater and install it within 3 days! Other places told us 7-10 days and weren't even sure if it'd be possible (we had a rather unique model). John came to our apartment as scheduled and got the job done nicely. After 5 hours of hard work, our new water heater was hooked up and doing it's job. And they cleaned up after themselves too!! It was a true pleasure working with Dovis. I had an excellent experience with Dovi and I would highly recommend him! We had a leaking faucet in our bathroom sink that had been a problem for quite sometime. Dovi arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, and set to work at fixing the sink right away. He made sure to check with us about which hardware to purchase (as the original hardware with too corroded to continue using) and was very responsive to our preferences. The work was very well done and we are very happy with our non-leaking sink! He is fairly priced and very nice to work with. Our master bathroom toilet got clogged and my wife's sister recommended using Dovis from her past experience. I called them and we scheduled for the same afternoon at 16pm. When the time showed 17:00 and no one showed I called them again and they assured someone is on the way. Finally the plumber arrive an hour and a half after we scheduled (Its not that I mind that it was at 18:30 as much as I am bothered by waiting for an hour and half after the original appointment time. We had an issue with a clogged sink, Dovi quoted us a price that was a $100 cheaper than another plumber. I set up an appointment and was able to come even earlier which worked out perfectly. His service was fast and efficient and he even took the time to clean up after himself. Valve under my sink leaked all night and flooded my neighbor's apartment. I had previously had this issue which was fixed by tightening the valve but did not solve the problem. I called Dovis plumbing and they were able to replace the valves. I am writing a review purely on the phone conversation I had with Manny. I had an issue with my furnace and was concerned about the air and water coming out of the spinovent. He told me not to be concerned and that it's something they can fixed but not this week as they are fully booked with emergency no heat issues (which I totally get cause it's like an ER, serve those in need first). I called Dovi's to do a job for a client of mine, based on the high number of good reviews that he got. I don't know how he could possibly have gotten such good reviews. Three times he gave me a date that he would get out to the facility, assess what needed to be done and provide a quote for services, and three times he never went.
