They were very responsive to my initial request and sent a separate restoration team the same day to check for a larger issue, but the understanding (as confirmed by both the initial plumber and follow up restoration team) was that I was holding off on the plumber doing anything that day because the CEO was going to come and give me a quote for the larger project. I've followed up several times with them since but no responses of any kind. I avoid writing negative reviews unless I see patterns repeated. I hired Hernandez plumbing to inspect my home waited a few days for the inspection (no problem there, it was the weekend) - inspection was supposed to be $50 - Upon arrival, the Plummer conducted an extremely brief inspection before sharing that further inspection was necessary and that an estimate would be forthcoming. I received an estimate in excess of $500 to simply conduct an inspection. It strikes me as a " bait and switch" tactic which I find unacceptable especially since it was wasted time. I hired another company that came to my home in a timely manner and that fixed the problem at a fraction of the inspection price. Two stars for accessibility, communication was good. read more

In my experience Hernandez Plumbing is over priced and not transparent about their pricing. In addition, it seems they inflate their estimates to cover their 'promise' to credit their hefty assessment fee. I requested a quote for an angle stop replacement to connect an icemaker and a garbage disposal check. I was told that it would be $150 for them to come assess and quote the work needed to be done, but they told me the $150 would be credited in the quote against the price of the work - I even clarified with the person scheduling that the credit would be applied if they needed to come back to do the work. After a 20 min assessment, they told me the garbage disposal was a safety hazard and needed to be replaced immediately. I asked for a quote and they would send a quote after I paid the assessment. Once paid, they sent me a quote a few hours later. They quoted the garbage disposal for $591 and $280 for the angle stop. I felt the quote was very high and requested details about the parts and labor required to do the work so that I could understand why it was so high.... no response. I called and emailed a few times and still recieved no response. fter 2 days, since it was flagged as a safety issue, I ended up having another provider supply and install the garbage disposal for $300. The provider also mentioned to me that the $591 quote was absurd. I still wanted to see if I could salvage the $150 paid for the assessment, so I continued to follow up for a quote for only the angle stop. They replied to me after a week with an updated quote of $491 (75% more than the original $280)! Still no explanation of the work required and no explanation was given for the price change. I called early in the day as my tankless water heater had suddenly decided to not work after only being used for one year. I was told I would have someone at my house between noon and 2pm the same day. Around 11am I received a text with the name and a picture of the technician that would be coming out. He also called and advised more or less what time he'd be arriving. I have nothing but GREAT things to say, the problem was accessed and unfortunately the unit needed to replaced. I was given various options and within the next hour and a half, I had hot water again. I used this plumbing company for a pluming issue regarding a leak. One star for ease of appointment- they send texts, emails and reminders and then follow up with estimated time of plumber arrival along with the name and photo of the plumber. I appreciate the information and efficiency. The plumber was prompt and professional. He assessed the area and determined there was no leak. This was my very first time dealing with a plumbing issue so I did not have the knowledge and information I now have. Suffice it to say, there was a LEAK. So, I had to call these clowns back since the leak was still occurring. Mind you, I paid for the first visit. So, I was appalled to find out that I had to pay for the plumber to come back. Well, guess what?! the second trip the plumber performed the diagnostics he should have performed the FIRST time! He filled the tub, put a die colorant in the water, etc. etc. and AMAZING- he found the leak. The bill was a gross and wasteful couple of hundred dollars. I was recommended this plumbing company by an electrician I have worked with who is professional and a great issue spotter, so I hoped Hernandez would be the same. Folks, these cats are expensive, lazy, and will cost you. I had some water damage on my ceiling downstairs. Directly above the water damage is my upstairs shower. That piece of information is key to this review. I put out a request for quotes on Yelp and Hernandez plumbing responded promptly. After chatting with a representative I set up an appointment. Technician arrives on time, ready to work. After inspecting the area of concern he than informs me of a $425 leak finder fee. That's right $425 to locate a leak that Is clearly coming from the upstairs shower (remember the piece of information I provided earlier). Nothing high tech occurred it took all of 15 mins to determine the drain (P-Trap) from my shower was leaking and needed to be replaced. Seeing as I now have a hole in my ceiling and not wanting to call another plumber I agreed to have them fix the drain. Set up a date and the problem was fixed. Total cost for the repair $800+. My issue isn't with the workmanship, they do great work. However the $425 leak finder fee was exorbitant and unnecessary. Because of that I can't recommend Hernandez Plumbing nor do I ever plan on using them in the future. read more

If you have to use this company, get a quote before you let them come. We called the company last fall for a quote to fix a toilet. They said $350. I have attached the quote. When we called this time, they did not give a quote before coming and when they came, asked 1200$ for the exact same job. The plumber told the person he was on the phone with where we lived and I believe because we have a nice home, they changed the price. We had to pay 50$ to have someone come and ask for 4x what they quoted me foe the same job. I asked for the new 1200$ quote for the job to be sent to me and it has still not been sent. Essentially, I paid 50$ ans they will not even email me the quote I paid for. We not have a different company coming to do it for $475 today. read more

Let me start off this review with saying that I have used many contractors in my lifetime. Of all the contractor types, plumbing, in my opinion, is one of the most difficult to assess. When you have a plumbing issue, it's usually an emergency, and in an emergency, people are desperate. This creates a supply of people who claim to be "plumbers" but who in reality, know very little about true plumbing, and sadly, are just taking advantage of people who don't know any better. After dealing with a sewage backup, we knew finding a good plumber was essential. Luckily, we were referred to Hernandez Plumbing by a friend, and have been very happy with their service thus far. They stepped in quickly to respond, schedule service, and stop the issue. On top of that, they also helped to identify the true root of the problem, which to me, is often what other plumbers fail to do. Marlon and Gustavo are courteous, professional, and excellent to deal with. They show up when they say they will, and have all the right equipment and knowledge that good plumbers should have. Shortly after our sewage issue, we had to deal with another plumbing issue at our office. We called Hernandez Plumbing again, and similar to our first experience, they took care of the problem in a fair and professional manner. I always felt that their pricing was very fair, and that they were honest and upfront with their work, something that I don't often say about contractors. The experience started out a little difficult because the communication with the dispatcher wasn't great trying to get estimates and coordinate someone to get the work done but once the coordination was completed, everything else was fantastic. The plumbers did a great job and the price was reasonable. The staff members I spoke to that helped finish off the job and resolve some minor billing issues on their end were super friendly and helpful. Let me start by saying that I know these are tough times for all businesses and for everyone in general. Although I'm flexible and open minded, I consider my time valuable and I do not like to feel like I'm being taken advantage of. My overall biggest issues with this company was the lack of professionalism, lack of communication and unreliability. I lost time from work for this and still had nothing completed. That being said, I had an urgent matter that needed to be looked at and so I sent an SOS and looked in other places for a plumbing company that had great reviews, recommendations, licensing, etc. The shower handle in one of the bathrooms in my home was not shutting off and handle broke off and was running on hot water. I was able to get a few responses of businesses that would come out and charge anywhere from $150 to $350 for just coming out so I had a friend just shut water off in shower until I was able to get someone in. This was on a Wednesday. So I then just sent another request for quotes out to businesses as a non emergency. One of the businesses I looked into was this one and after research I reached out for more details on the quote. They had good reviews and ratings, so I decided to work with them. After communicating via email and text, which was timely, I submitted pictures of the faucet and shower valve for quote. After I approved the initial quote we scheduled for a Friday afternoon so I could request time off from work. The first plumber came and after no more than thirty minutes he just basically said it was going to be a harder job than he expected so that it would need a new quote and they'd need to come back. I asked to add replacement of the shut off valve to the job as well, so the employee said his supervisor would contact me. On Monday, I received an email with a new quote to which I had a few questions that were answered and then I approved the quote. I then scheduled for Friday afternoon 12:30 - 4:30pm for job completion. So I took the day off from work to be available. I received a call the day of at 1:00pm that the plumber assigned was running late at another job which taking longer. At almost 2pm I received a call from the plumber that was assigned, stating that he was less than 30 minutes away and would be arriving soon. An hour later, he showed up. After assessing the situation he stated that he'd need to cover all walls with plastics for the dust since the shower tile would need to be cut through and would make a lot of dust and mess. I asked about the replacement of shut off valve to main water line since that was in my quote and he seemed super surprised and said he was going to check in with his supervisor on that. The set up of covering walls took about 15-20 minutes and then he went out to his truck and since it was raining he called me to tell me he was waiting for rain to ease. Half hour later he called again and said that the rain was still coming down too hard and he would like to know if it was possible to come back another day to start the work. I said if it is necessary then sure but the sooner the better and I would prefer that Saturday. He said no problem and so after explaining that I had taken time off from work for this, it needed to be done next day. He stated that he'd return at 9-9:30am. After 10am and no call or anything from the company or the employee I had to make contact with the company. At almost noon I just decided to text the company via text because no one was answering the main phone. After a basic response saying they thought the employee was going to return at 9am, I received no apologies or anything. It's safe to say I decided to NOT have this company complete the job for me. To make the matter worse for me, there was damage to my bathroom walls and ceiling due to the tape he used to put up plastic. Several days have gone by and I've received no type of communication from the company with any explanation, apology, excuse or anything. read more
