I'd just never seen anything like it. I almost thought it was some kind of joke, but clearly it was not. The rooms were clean and as far as we were told, the staff there were great. There was one nurse that didn't read the chart and grabbed the wrong arm (the shoulder had just had a replacement surgery) and caused our aunt great pain, but after that, there was a sign put up to remind any one not to disturb that arm unless for a specific reason. The registration process was quick and easy. The hospital staff from registration to post-op was incredible. I did not encounter one person who was not kind, courteous, and engaging. I had knee surgery and was highly impressed with the nursing staff who came in for pre-op requirements, the nurse who set up my IV, the nurse who took me back to surgery, my anesthesiologist, and my surgeon, Dr Tyler McGregor. Though not something I would like to do again, all aspects of this experience exceeded my expectations. The ER was quick, efficient, professional and courteous. Hospital staff from the doctors, house keeping, nursing and food service were stellar. And yes even the food was good. Discharge day was a little shaky but to no fault of Lakeland staff.

Then another 30 minute wait before seeing a nurse practitioner. She was very rude, and only wanted to talk about my blood pressure and not pay any attention to the actual reason I was there. Eventually she did take a quick look (about 30 seconds) at my current issue, and more or less said there was nothing she could do. Then went back on about my BP again. Eventually said she was going to check something and be right back. After another 20 minutes I left. So an hour and 45 minutes wait, when nobody was in the waiting room ahead of me, for 15 minutes of rude scolding and 30 seconds attention towards what I came for, and no solution.

Urgent care or ER is an absolute nightmare. It doesn't matter if there are 5 or 50 patients…read morewaiting you will wait, wait, and wait until you see a doctor. And not only are you waiting...you are waiting in a room suitable to refrigerate your groceries in the Summer. The ER staff is dressed in winter garb but if you are in comfortable Summer attire, I guarantee you'll leave there with a low grade fever or at least an infection of some type. Your best bet is to go to an Urgent Care Clinic.
