She sold my son a condo knowing the furnace didn't work when she said it did. My son couldn't even move in his new place until approx. 3 weeks after closing. It wasn't deemed safe and he had to fork out an additional 3100.00 for a new furnace She forgot to have the faucets fixed before closing, which I will admit she did after closing with her plumber about a week later. She didn't give my son all the keys to his condo,(something else she forgot) she gave them to her plumber to give to my son when he was out there to fix the faucets and last but not least, at closing I asked her which carport was my son's to park his car in and she couldn't even answer that. She said "good question, I don't remember". Is this someone you want working for you? I would hope not.

As a first time home buyer I was expecting to have actual help finding a house. Instead, I ended up being the one that found every house that we toured. I followed up with my mortgage company to ensure that everything was on track for me to close on time. She rarely had time to talk and always kept the conversation short, so most of the time I was asking other people for advice when my agent should have been available to help! My largest issue was when my closing was approaching and Celeste did not reach out to my mortgage company or myself to ensure everything was complete. My closing was pushed back because I didn't have a title company (something my agent was supposed to discuss with me). When I called her, she placed blame on anyone that she could. She never admits her mistakes and attempts to amend them. According to Celeste, her job was done. Although I was under the impression that her job was complete after I closed. When I called her manager at the Re/Max office, her only response was "well I'm glad we were able to get you to closing. What else would you like to have done?" I never received a call back from her or any resolution from my horrid experience. Find another place! I promise you'll thank me later!

This is my personal experience AS-IS. I will update it however with more info and records after they reply with lies, as I noticed they do on some reviews who speak the truth here and on Yelp. First and nobody talks about this, their agreement is shady and unclear. It doesn't go with the tenants' lease agreement so it's overlapping and makes it complicated to get out of either one. After 11 months it renews itself for another year, but your lease with the tenants maybe 8 months in. They will put the worst tenants in your house with no background checks whatsoever. You will never get payments on time. I had to call every month around the 20th or 25th wondering what's going on, then the payment will come the next day or so. Indication they get paid but do not pay you, hoping you will forget about it? I couldn't figure it out. Almost every single month. All these reviews say "Stephanie is nice". She only gets you in and talks nicely to you as long as you don't ask for anything, you accept everything they do as is, otherwise she will very often tell you: You have to talk to Kevin about this. I told her many times I didn't like these tenants and weren't comfortable, but she insisted they were good. After evictions she rushed to give me the keys and wouldn't answer to my inquiries about tenants selection and process which I was going to need for court. "Kevin is rude, unprofessional and bad mouthed". I started investigating their business and got a hold of a former client of theirs, when asked him about him he told me he was a "crook", a word I had to look up. Unfortunately it was too late for me. It made sense because he won't keep communication in texts and emails he will call you and speaks like a bully, and say things like are you going to pay me for this? He thinks he's a lawyer who charges for his time. I kept records of everything. He doesn't think he had to do anything but collecting the rent and charging the 10%. They never welfare checked on the properties although I asked them many times. They never cooperated with me to pursue my damages, instead, they asked for $1000 just to file my claim in court. They gave me back 2 trashed properties after 1 year of hiring them. Completely remodeled homes lost about $10-15K of their value. Cost to repair the damages was about $7K. Cleaning tenants items from the street and front yard and city fines was over $1K. Even the doors and storm door were removed. Kevin Carnahan told me it's just $300 to fix everything. When I asked him to send someone there to do it and I'll pay he never replied, to this day. The house looked like a destroyed drughouse when I received the key. My agent refused to list it and said it needed a rehab. Needed to sell with big loss just so I could support my family who's been hard bit with the Pandemic. This was the worst nightmare we faced in a pandemic, while dealing with a baby's heart surgeries, which they were aware of. If they only went their once for welfare check, a lot of this could have been avoided. I am writing this so this doesn't happen to other home owners and investors. The good reviews are not relevant and are mostly from tenants for insignificant reasons, and the rating is scam. Attached is Kevin Carnahan and Stephanie rating themselves 5 stars - conflict of interest. I made sure to snip that before they get removed. See attached images. Take your properties somewhere else. Use Venmo or Zillow to collect rent it's free. Help U Rent did nothing but collecting rent and even that they did inefficiently and always late, delayed or skipped. The only 1 positive thing they did to me was driving me out of that miserable place. I should have stuck with Epic Property Management, who did a great job with tenant selection and professional and real property management work. I regret leaving them but I had to after they changed their policy to not ask for permission when a repair is under $500 and their managers abused it. The agent never calls you with updates, you have to call for any information. Apparently, the owner of the property had been on "vacation" for a week and couldn't be reached....my personal opinion? It's just a way of them trying to stall and find more applicants. They do NOT follow protocol on their own website...they say they don't base approval on credit alone but we were "sort of denied as of right now" even though we met all the other criteria they say they base their decision on. The websites opening speech starts with... "We understand the economy is not in good shape and it is hard to find someone with a perfect credit score. That is why we do not base our decision on a credit score alone, but on several factors." Also, they never followed protocol on a good faith deposit and are taking other applications to rent out from underneath us while still waiting for our final approval decision. Legally, I don't think they can do this. UPDATE two weeks later and still no official "were sorry you were not approved" call but the place we applied for has already been rented out by someone else. Thanks for nothing HelpUrent...or maybe it should be called TakeUrMoney.... This place is a scam and charges way too much for a credit report....but I guess that's how they make their money but taking a bunch of applications and money then claiming your credit is too weak. Stay away from this place at all costs of you can help it. Very disgusted with this company.
