When I got to Evolution Training, I realized I found my new home! The main things that drew me in were the beginners' classes and the friendly people there. After training there for 7 months now, I have realized that all the top students here who compete are state champions in LA, MS or FL. These guys were so nice from day one that I didn't realize they are killers in competition! The beginners' classes gave me a thorough foundation in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and I soon tested out of beginner classes into the advanced classes. After 6 months of Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu, I decided to add kickboxing classes to my membership, and those have been a blast. It's only been a month, and I'm already seeing drastic improvements in the power of my punches and kicks. The instructors are patient and KNOW what they are doing...they both teach and have impressive competition records themselves. Personally, I don't think I want to compete at this point, but it is very nice to know that what I am learning is the real deal and wins competitions if I chose that route. If you are thinking about getting into grappling or striking, make SURE you check out Evolution Training before you make your final decision...they are the best value anywhere around!!!

I thought the people there cared about him. I have highly recommended this gym to countless people over the years. Unfortunately, we had to cancel his membership because the owner, Tory - a professional boxer - decided it would be ok to threaten to get in the ring with my son and "go a few rounds" with him. Not in an effort to teach or guide my son but simply because as my son was in a sparring match he didn't hear a command that Tory gave him. I am beyond disappointed.

It took me 2 years to get started again but I'm so glad I did! I was welcomed back with open arms by the entire staff who all remembered me by name. The classes are a perfect mixture of workout and stress relief. I'm usually dropping with sweat by the end. They also have fun DJ nights every month and different challenges/raffles to keep things interesting! Love this place and the people!

Each of the ladies at iLoveKickboxing have been so patient, understanding, and encouraging to me. That is exactly what I need right now!   Every class is different. Every instructor has a different teaching style. You have fun while learning correct technique and burning fat and calories.   The facility is clean and well cared for. The instructors are very mindful of social distancing, sanitation and cleanliness . . . even for the pens we use!   I am so glad I decided to walk through the doors of iLoveKickboxing in Gonzales, LA! I don't go here regularly but I've dropped by to roll quite a few times since 2006…read more It's exactly what I would expect from a bjj gym in Nola. It's like a pop-up in the back of a gym. There are exposed brick walls and some other characteristics you expect to find in these old buildings. It's next to a bar. The students are all friendly and many of them are interesting characters with crazy patches or mismatched neon color rash guards. One guy had a patch on his gi of Johnny Cash flipping the bird, which is the best possible patch if you ask me. I'm surprised there isn't a bar in the back of the gym or a brass band playing while we spar. Professor Matthias is an excellent teacher. I'd also imagine he'd be a great coach ringside as he is always very good at identifying opportunities for attack when we spar. He's also a really down to earth guy with some good stories. I wish I had the time to do bjj seriously again. It's frustrating to know that your skills are devolving while the bjj game keeps changing and evolving, but I guess that's just what happens when you get old. If I did have the time and inclination I would be proud to be a member here. You should check it out.

This place is AWFUL. All the instructor except for Nick make it all about them. They no real idea…read morewhat they are doing. They rather talk about themselves, play the same music so loud you can't hear, and don't focus on technique to prevent injury. I've been to a handful of Title Clubs (Raleigh, Winston Salem, Columbia SC, etc). One instructor (Jordan) even pulled a Don't Touch Me, Bro attitude. When I asked was he serious - he told me to "F#$K OFF!" and get the F#$K OUT" Even said he was going to call the cops, because I accidentally grazed him him my boxing gloves on my way to get water. When I called the general manager to explain his employee, he said he would "talk" to Jordon, but is also admitted that Jordon didn't feel like he did anything wrong.
