I didn't have any cool people to talk to... my routine seemed insanely boring and since I've gotten much stronger post CrossFit... the routine seemed so easy. I miss being challenged by the WOD's they created. I am going to check out some CrossFit gyms around Houston so I can keep up with my workouts but they're all much more expensive and restrict the amount of days I get to go. The cheapest option I have found is ~140 with a minimum of 3 months only two times a week. LAME! I wish I could go back to CrossFit Houma.. :(

He patiently showed me step by step exactly how to improve each lift. It took a few months but I began to see gains pretty quickly. Even though I know I need to improve much I have never felt more confident about lifting weight in the gym. I have also continuously hit new personal milestones over the past six months. I have also benefited from advice about how to tweak my diet from both Junco and Bryan. I have really enjoyed working out at Houma Cross Fit. It seems that every time I go I learn something new. My new favorite is what I call the Houma Iditarod. It's pretty entertaining to watch! If you want to work out in a positive environment I would give Cross Fit Houma a try

Had pain along right side of my body from kidney area to heel of foot. Suffered with it for a year,…read moresaw numerous orthopedic doctors including specialists for spine, knee, hip, and pain control. after more MRI's that I can count on one hand, the final diagnoses were that I needed joint replacement in right side knee, hip, and spinal surgery. Also the following year I would need left knee replacement after I learned how to walk properly again. I went to Jason Jones and his staff for the last 9 mos. They worked with me 2-3 times a week every week. The exercises and stem treatments he designed were to strengthen and eliminate pain in each area of the right which were causing constant muscle spasms and lack of stability to the point that a walker or cane was always necessary. He worked with the pain doctor providing info where an injection may be helpful. I was always encouraged, and treated as if I was there most important patient, although the many others were also treated the same. He identified referred pain from actual pain with his treatments too. I am happy to say that it was determined that I only need a right knee replacement, and a pinched nerve (now relieved) was causing referred pain which encompassed my whole right side. I personally think he and his crew at Advanced are miracle workers, and cannot express my appreciation.

Child Endangerment. Why? Because today, my wife and I brought my great granddaughter to swim. My…read morewife did not swim; she was with me to assist in getting my granddaughter to the pool area safely. When they entered the swimming area exiting from the women's locker room, this young girl who was a lifeguard, told my wife that she was not allowed in the girl's locker room. We had brought my granddaughter there several times before with no issues about them going into and exiting into the pool areas from the women's locker room. My wife then gathered her stuff to bring it into the girl's locker room and this girl immediately followed her in there to tell her that she wasn't allowed in there. The girl was rude and vindictive. My wife told this rude girl that she wasn't going to allow a six year old girl to go in there by herself. She then told her that they had to go to the Family dressing room which my wife and I had never heard of before and we had been there as members for 9 months. When my wife after being escorted by this rude girl to the family room, she was greeted by a bathroom stall that didn't lock and a urinal. This is atrocious on so many levels. We decided to cancel our memberships and when we filled out the forms for cancellation, we were given a run around on contacting the facility manager and told that they would contact us. They would not give a name or a phone number. Are you kidding me? The girl would not give me her name. My wife previously in the pool area was videoing my granddaughter swimming on her back, when this same young girl came up to her and said that no videoing or pictures could be taken which my wife was unaware of. She was very rude in her approach and my wife said that she didn't know and turned off her phone. When we cancelled at the desk, on the way out my wife was looking at her phone waiting for me at the desk when this same little girl asked my wife if she was taking a picture of her. My wife said no, she was looking at her personal phone. I asked this young girl her name, but she said she wasn't allowed to give it. I've read several reviews on this place, and evidently, they do give their names as worker's names were included in the reviews. I don't know why men and women, regardless of age don't dress in gender assigned locker rooms together, but this facility needs to review their policies because discrimination at so many levels is occurring here against the elderly, toddlers and young children, and perhaps racially as my granddaughter is biracial. This place is definitely a safety hazard. I am a retired environmental health and safety manager and there are so many violations that I could list for the facility if given an opportunity to perform a government rules inspection. I will go to a better gym. Be sure to thank your young female lifeguard on duty 5/02. She did me a big favor. I will gladly now drive 20 miles to Thibodaux where my safety is insured and my customer service reps respect both me and my family.

Our 6 year old signed up for cheerleading. Practices consisted of them playing with basketballs, occasionally stretching. The moment the kids would start learning, the director would interrupt to make an announcement. Only had one teacher and they kept requesting that parents help. When it came time to cheer at the games, they didn't know much and it was very unorganized. Only cheered for 5 minutes at the end of a single game. And today, their last day... Was canceled without letting any of the parents know! Parents with multiple kids know the struggle of getting yourself and kids ready early in the morning and getting somewhere on time with no fights! Just an all around disappointment.

Checking out the offerings in towns (which are admittedly limited) and stumbled across this place,…read morewhich I had no idea even existed. It's tucked in at the far end of a very small strip mall perpendicular to Causeway, across from Lakeside Mall. The shop is TINY and selection is rather limited. The one guy that was in there (owner or manager, not sure which) was knowledgeable, though, and seemed to try and stay on top of making sure he had a full size range in everything that they do carry. Also friendly and helpful with the questions we were asking. They carry some different brands from Harry's, so if you're looking for different options you may want to check here before hitting the web. Of course the size in the one wetsuit that I wanted to try had just been re-ordered, so I was up a creek on that one the day we went in.
