On May 20th asked for another 2000 for materials and then or June 3rd asked for another 1500 for materials None of this was discussed up front that we would have to dish out that much more for materials This should of been quoted in the original contract.Got upset with us when asked to see invoices. Communication was poor. When the job was completed and final payment for labor was to be made. He charged another 1500 on top of labor price of 7500 which did not say estimated on the original contract. After we got pissed and argued with him he still charged an extra 500.00 on top of the 7500 for labor and kept the extra materials that we paid for that he stated he couldn't return to Carters Lumber cause they were special order. He told my husband this in a text after he was gone and got his final check from us for his labor. Make sure you get absolutely everything in writing and beware of hidden costs. Extremely disappointed with the pricing and billing. The final invoice came out to be sianificantlv hiqher than the originak quote/estimate. We felt like we were drastically overcharged for the actual work provided. This iob cost us way over what was originally quoted. Very unprofessional in pricing and in person. We were never provided with any final paperwork. No receipts and no copies of any invoices of materials purchased. Only thing we have is the original contract stating 7500 labor and 3000 materials estimated. This was a small 9x9 deck with most of the framework already there.Deck boards are wavy in the middle and we were told the extra labor was cause he had to secure the deck to the house and level the deck. The center framework is not level. This is very upsetting situation. I also cannot find his License and Insured PA #151396 on-line anywhere. Also asked us for a tip twice during the project. His wife,Casey Anthony posted pictures of our deck on her Facebook page on July 5th.. Blocked us from seeing it so I can't comment. Remember pictures are deceiving. Wish I investigated more before hiring Jason Anthony! Now,2 months after deck was completed it is falling apart.
