I do wish their other screen was up and running as the only one on I had to keep looking over to look at. Their Fourth of July fireworks show on the 3rd was epic! I would like to say though to bring earplugs, the acoustics made them so LOUD.

I'd seen the visiting team -- the Saint Paul Saints -- but it was back in their Northern League Days when Mike Veeck owned the team. Either way, this was outstanding baseball in a wonderful environment. As I've mentioned in other ballpark reviews, I'm a former broadcaster who has seen hundreds of baseball games at all levels across the country. Though I've been to plenty of MLB games (dating back to the days of Arlington Stadium, Veterans Stadium, Shea Stadium and the former Yankees Stadium), I'm still partial to minor league baseball. Sure, I enjoyed seeing the likes of Juan Gonzalez smashing balls into the parking lot and Curt Schilling striking out 16 Yankees (that was in 1997, and I loved it with all my heart), but seeing players who are trying to make it to the show -- or trying to make it back, such as so many players on the Mud Hens -- brings me greater joy. Seeing a game in Toledo was a bucket list thing for me, if only because of Jamie Farr's character on MASH. With such a nice little stadium and wonderful baseball to boot, I wish I'd come sooner. A couple of caveats though. First, I've paid less for parking at a Coldplay concert. Further, at least those lots took cards. (These guys only take cash, but I'm sure the parking lot owners report their earnings to the IRS -- NOT!) Secondly, the hot dogs at this park are saltier than the Black Sea. Thank God I took a double dose of Amlodipine! But seriously, I'd come back here in a second.

When I arrived the center was closed down the a sheet of paper on the door explaining the players went on strike that day. I tried calling them at different offices but I couldn't get through to anyone for the next few days and then I had to fly overseas where I'm located all year. I purchased tickets directly from the center but they use a 3rd party service and when I contacted them I was given an agent in another country outside the USA who did everything they could not be accommodating. My simple request was for a full refund for the unusual event. The ticket prices were inflated during holiday and dropped half in value so I will lose have my value or full value if they are not sold. The rescheduled date was still to be determined.

We attended a high school basketball showcase at Cedar Point Sports Center and were very impressed…read moreoverall. The facility is extremely clean, modern, and well-maintained, with multiple courts and plenty of space for teams and spectators to move around comfortably. Despite a full weekend of games, everything ran very efficiently. Schedules were organized, games stayed on time, and staff were visible and helpful throughout the event, which made a big difference for a large tournament setting. Parking and entry were handled smoothly, and the admission price was very reasonable for the quality of the venue and the scale of the event. Compared to similar sports complexes, it felt like a great value.

Because Fulton's truly is the top county fair in the State of Ohio. Really, check it out. While I haven't attended the FC Fair since moving to Phoenix in 2001, I have been to the fairgrounds twice now for the Thresher's Convention. In addition to one of the largest collections of thresher equipment and antique implements, the Thresher's Convention also has some terrific finds at their flea market. This year was no exception. That said, leave your city shoes at home; ain't nobody got time for that. If you're fortunate enough to go during a time when the machinery is actually operating, you'll get a treat. Well, it'll be exciting. Eh, in a historic educational sort of way. Oh, just go!

2026-09-19. Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI…read more Welcome to the Big House! The largest stadium in the USA with a seating capacity of 107,601 and a total capacity of over 110,000. This was my first experience and it was my beloved Wolverines facing off against UTEP Miners. A couple of things to note is that you cannot pull up into the parking lot a pay for parking. The lots around the stadium are sold by the season. If you plan on attending individual games and you want to park in one of the adjacent blue lots, you'll need to buy a parking spot from a 3rd party site, and trust me, you don't want to do that. These spots go for well over $100 per game. Don't feel so bad, if you buy a seasons parking spot, it still works out to $60 per game. You best bet is to park, well anywhere else really, and follow the crowd to the stadium. The closest public lots are about 0.8mi from the stadium, but prices are a lot cheaper. I found street parking (free) about 1.3 miles out at the opposite end of campus and completed the casual walk in about 25 minutes. If you don't care to walk the campus at all, don't worry, there are much closer streets where you can park and walk, you just need to be lucky and/or patient. The other thing to note is that NO BAGS can be brought with you into the stadium, not even the clear ones. You are allowed to bring your phone, jackets, ball caps, seat cushions, and a towel, but no umbrellas or large bulky items. Today was overcast and the rain has been on and off all morning. The afternoon is as if the city was drowned in an invisible fog, clear visibility yet a perpetual light mist surrounding the air around you, enough to wet you, but not enough to get you wet. We had amazing seats, 30 rows up and by the end zone. The stadium's sheer grandeur is breathtaking and it was another solid turn out despite the wet weather. Games are always sold out before the season even begins, so the real testament to school spirit are the gate rings; the number of tickets scanned at the gates. Today's official attendance rang in at 110,668. The seats are also equipped with complementary UofM cushions. These cushions hang over the bench seat when not in use, and you just flip them over if you want to use them. This was perfect as they were kept dry when hanging and not in use. Not sure if this is only with the lower level seats, or all seats, but it was a nice touch! Food and drink consists of all your usual suspects for any sports venue, minus the peanuts, you can't get those here, and prices rival those of Comerica Park (5/3 Park?), Ford Field, and Little Caesar's Arena with domestic beer at $12.5 and import beer at $14. Most snacks are under $10, but if you get 'em fancy, then you're looking at about double the price. The menu tops out with some fully loaded nachos at $23.00. With the way the economy is going, don't hold me to these prices, but today they are: Popped Maize: $6.50 Nachos: $8.00 (+$2.00 for cheese cup) Soft Pretzel: $7.00 (+$2.00 for cheese cup) Hot Dog (Dearborn Brand): $7.25 Stadium Sausage / Beyond Sausage: $8.00 - $8.25 Foot-Long Coney / Currywurst: $14.00 - $16.00 Pizza (Four-Square): $16.00 Smashburger / Mitten (Olive) Burger: $16.00 - $18.00 Michigan Stadium Nachos: $23.00 Overall, if you've never been to the Big House, it's definitely an experience. The crowd is electric and the sense of unity and comradery that fills the air is truly remarkable. And in case you're wondering, the game started off slow and tight with the Miners leading most of the first half. The Wolverines took the lead for the first time after kicking a field goal with 5 seconds left, and the Wolverines went into half time leading 17-14. They came out the 2nd half aggressively defending their territory in true Wolverine fashion and romped to a 52-17 victory. Atmosphere was phenomenal, crowd was great, food and drinks were your typical stadium pricing, but overall a great experience. We ubered to the game from our hotel to avoid traffic and parking. The amount of vendors outside the stadium was unreal too. So many pop up shops. I will say though, good luck getting online on your phone while being around that many people, we had to walk almost a mile away from the stadium to connect with uber. I would do this experience 100 times out of 100. Best football game of my life even though Michigan lost lol.

The squad played exceptionally hard and pulled away for an impressive victory. The arena was clean, easy to get to, and we were welcomed by friendly elderly security screeners. The fans were engaged and polite. Several times our seat neighbors helpfully explained a rule for me after I had to be told to sit down & be quiet by my girlfriend. "Why one star?" you ask. I answer your question with a question: how can an institution whose athletic tradition is bested only by its academic prestige, a school full of valiant victors and heroes conq'ring, a university Darth Vader himself called the Best In The World, how can this venerated landmark serve its paying guests food not fit for the livestock on faculty in East Lansing? At halftime our beloved Wolverines were clinging to a 3 point lead after star guard Olivia Olson sat much of the first half in foul trouble (she finished with 27 points, all after the break). We had arrived within time's bending sickle's compass, though I didn't know it yet. We ventured into the concourse and chose a lunch line without much thought. This carelessness has altered the trajectory of my otherwise unremarkable life. Nothing looked particularly appetizing, least of all the prices. The prices! Friends, Romans, countrymen, I could have finished my abandoned undergrad degree (not from UofM, didn't even get waitlisted) for less than the cost of these heat-lamp Hindenburgs .
