went today to grab a couple of sundaes and ran into 3 problems. to start, i asked for 2 separate orders. i gave my order and was quickly dismissed to go to the window to pay. at the window, she charged me for all 2 orders on one bill, and wouldn't adjust it afterward. second problem, the order was wrong. after i decided to just take the order as was, because i was already frustrated, she proceeds to hand me all three ice creams, with no lid or tray. i then asked if she could please put lids on them and into a tray. she sighed and then shoved lids onto the ice creams with the spoons still inside, making them smush into the ice cream and fudge. very disappointed with today's service and will choose another location next time. read more

I went to the location in Bayers Lake and received a very ungrateful welcoming. There was only one other person in the store and the boy that was on the cash seemed to be busy answering the iPad for deliveries so I patiently waited for him to be finished. Without him even looking up at me he said "yeah what do you want". Um excuse me??? Terrible customer service, if it wasn't for me promising to treat my sisters to ice cream I would have walked out. read more

I love this DQ! I grabbed two Blizzards on the way home. They had their 25th Anniversary , so the deal was, buy one and get another for .25cents. You have to love it. Two Blizzards (med) came to $5.25. The staff here are alwasy smiling and greeting with a friendly hello. I especially like their ice-cream cakes. read more

Diary Queen recently had a sale where if you buy one Blizzard, you get a second for 25 cents. The last night of the sale, I decided to get a Blizzard for me and my Mother. It was a nice, sunny night outside and when it`s sunny, I find DQ to be very busy. I couldn`t believe that the drive thru line up had 14 cars in it and it started on the main road. Literally, it was jammed packed. I thought it would be easier and faster to go into the store; however, the line ups were outside the door! I didn`t have much planned, so I decided to wait in the drive thru line up. I waitined more than 20 minutes and when I arrived at the window, the staff was laughing and carrying on and having a great time! With the amount of stress that comes from being that busy, you would have thought that they would have been burnt out. Rather, they were friendly, upbeat and very helpful. I ended up chaging my mind with what I wanted and they were nice about it. I was really impressed with the service under those extreme circumstances. Great place to go if you`re looking for an ice cream treat or a birthday cake! I love DQ in the Bayers Lake Park! read more

I went to DQ after a really long time. DQ is expensive compared to other fast food restaurants. The order was ready really quickly. The lady standing at the cash register seemed like she was getting annoyed because we were asking some general questions (like what size is the small cup, etc) but overall she was okay. Went as a family so we ordered a funnel cake as well, it was small for the price (paid $5.49 for it). If you don't want something too fancy, I'd recommend going to McDonald's and ordering a McFlurry and pay less (not to mention the size of the cup is also larger). read more

I haven't been to DQ in many years, since they changed their fries about a decade ago to some non-potato-tasting concoction. I thought that since it's been so long they've probably made a few changes since, right? WRONG. I will say that Ryan the cashier was friendly and helpful. He gets that one star up there. We had a rather long wait for our "fast" food, and when it was finally ready they had forgotten to pour our drinks, which is usually the first step in preparing someone's order. It wasn't very busy so no excuse for the long wait. Said drinks were more water than syrup. The buns were soggy and sponge-like. The burgers had little flavour. The fries were still the same "did they *really* make these with potato?" mystery food from ten years ago. Not impressed at all. I guarantee it will be more than another decade before I step foot in there again. read more

I don't frequent the greasy side of fast food that often.. but Dairy Queen's purchasing of Orange Julius caused me to want to stop in to grab a nice classic orange julius. Something went wrong. The cost was the usual higher than a beverage should be.. but not too bad. However, the drink was just bad. Way way way wayyy too much Ice and not enough flavor. It's a shame to have seen the once proud Julius of Orange.. reduced to this bucket of ice. read more

I love soft serve ice cream and this place does it great! I have been a DQ fan since childhood and it holds that sweet spot for me - the soft serve. No matter what new menu items they add their soft serve ice cream takes me back to being a kid - and don't we all need that once in a while in this crazy world. Took DD there last weekend to order her ice cream cake for her birthday party and was blown away by the awesome customer service! Reason being my DD had a group picture of My Little Pony Season 3 cast and particularly wanted two of their pictures on her cake. Host returned to us and said he looked up on Wikipedia to get their exact names and images they will need for the cake - what service! I love this place and also love knowing I will have one happy birthday girl. read more

I was always a loyal Dairy Queen customer. I recently called up and told them to pick out any generic cake from their freezer and asked them to write "Happy Birthday, Lynn" on it. I know this wasn't an irrational or tedious request, as I've dropped in on the spot in the past and had them write on it right then and there, after picking out a cake. I told them that someone would be by in about four hours to pick up the cake (that gives them four hours and 55 minutes more time than if I would've dropped in on the spot and requested this). I gave them my partner's name, who would be by to pick up the cake later that evening. Four hours later, when my partner went to pick up the cake, they were completely dumbfounded by the request to pick up the cake. My partner explained that I had called earlier and that the cake would be ready under his name. They told him there was no cake and that it would take 24 hours to process the request. TWENTY FOUR HOURS?! Seriously? Ok, so whoever I talked to on the phone didn't get the cake ready. Perhaps it got busy and he forgot. I guess that happens sometimes. You would think the kid behind the counter would've eagerly grabbed another cake from the freezer and got his writing tool out. This kid earns an A+ for customer service and genius skills... NOT! His sales were $30 shorter than they could have been that night. I'm thinking anyone who works at Dairy Queen should be able to spell and write messages on cakes. I'll be going to Coldstone Creamery from now on... which is where we ended up getting the cake and who whipped up the birthday message in less than a minute. read more

The girlfriend and I were in to the Bayers Lake Dairy Queen last week for Miracle Treat Day - we like ice cream, we like children's charities, everyone wins, right? Well, kinda. First off, the quality of the ice cream was every bit as good as it usually is at Dairy Queen, which is to say it was slightly on the high-side of mediocre. We know what we were buying, and we have no complaints as that goes. The staff there deserve special mention - they were run off their feet, the lineup was out the door the entire time we were there, and somehow they kept smiles on their faces and didn't miss a beat. We were both impressed as hell with how good a job they did. Ok, here comes the rough bit... See, there was kind of a smell inside the restaurant. Not the smell of food - or, at least, not the smell of food *before* digestion. I'm not sure if the restaurant is having issues with its plumbing or what, but the inside of the Dairy Queen smelled like an outhouse. Seriously, sewage. It was heinous, and the two of us ended up having to sit outside in order to be able to stomach the thought of eating. Normally I'd write this off as a one-time issue, but we've noticed the smell in that restaurant before. Again, I feel the need to say that the staff there did a wonderful job. Honestly, I know that working fast food can be deceptively stressful at the best of times, but these folks didn't crack once in the face of the never-ending parade of humanity shambling up to the counter. They should be proud of themselves. We'll go back, I have no doubt, but we're going to give it a little while. Hopefully the plumber is scheduled for sometime soon. read more

Stopped in at the drive through here on evening of March 28th. Staff was not friendly. While waiting for my order I noted 4 young women, none of them wearing hairnets, two with hair almost down to their waists and flipping their long ponytails all over everything. They were saying "ugh, I didn't sign up for this job" and all agreeing. None of them apparently wanted to be there! While waiting for the food, I was rummaging for something on my seat and looked up to find one of the workers holding the bag into my face! She never said a single word. Not thank you, have a nice night, etc. I drove away without following my basic rule here - "check the bags before driving away!" Of course the gravy that I ordered wasn't in there, it NEVER is so why didn't I check first? Drove back and went in for the missing gravy, one of the girls (who was filthy dirty and looked like she had been rolling around in dirt or ice cream toppings gave me a gravy with barely a word. The only reason I would rate this place a 2/5 instead of 1/5 is that the daytime lunch staff is much better. (Usually) I won't return again for a few months so hopefully by that time the girls who "didn't sign up for this!" will have been rotated out and replaced with new staff who are happy to have a part time job and make a few extra dollars. read more

For this type of restaurant it is excellent. The food is good, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. DQ has the best meal value in town with a burger, pop and fries plus a sundae of your choice for dessert. It even has the local Saturday paper free. They are not as cheap as the one in Tantallon where they will not substitute a coffee for a pop without charging you extra. They do what want with the products they sell so there is not much else they can do. read more

WOW! I can not believe we do not have HEALTH INSPECTORS inspecting these places and people here! Three of us went for treats to night July13,The girl who served us was grossly dirty and scuffy.Her hat she had on had sooo much animal fur all over it!( the girl standing next to her serving wasn't much better either) Really, and to think she(they) are serving FOOD to the public! The service was very bad today, December 8, 2015, at 3.17 pm. The cashier really seemed to hate clients, her job, people in general. Even my 10-y.o. son noticed that she was rude. She definitely lacked customer service skills and thought the clients are a bunch of needy idiots. I used to be their online club member and come there often, but hey, if I want to be abused, why would I pay money for that, right? Bring business to Dairy Queen and get treated like dirt - methinks not. Get her customer service training, do not scare customers away, that's my advice to you. read more
