After almost four years of hormone therapy and 7 hours of surgery, we conceived two beautiful children.  Of all my specialists and my regular Physician, I have found Dr. Nagler to be the most kind, close to my family, considerate and truly interested in me as a whole person. He always asks questions that express real interest in my family-life, my well-being as a human, and as an integrated person. We think of Dr. Nagler  as part of our family. He's a highly accomplished and respected psychiatrist on the faculty of the top departments of Psychiatry in NYC, and of course that's all essential and is apparent in his wisdom and skill. But for me what stands out as I look back on our time together is his warmth, sincerity, depth of caring, commitment - the human element that is so completely there every day and that gets you through all of the most challenging times. Also, he's funny and willing to share a laugh, and that's something I personally found healing in itself, alongside the deep great insights he shared with me.

Dr. Gruenspan - it appears - was once at the top of his discipline. His diagnoses are, for the…read moremost part, correct. He maybe a bit "trigger-happy' on ordering tests that should well be left for later on in the diagnostic process. He knows much and I'm sure still sincerely wishes to help his patients. Sometimes, though, he appears to be falling asleep while he types his notes onto his laptop. There is a problem: his staff. Too many doing not much of anything; anything purposeful that is. The Dr. is swamped with many patients; however, there is not any orderly manner in attending to them. His office is truly large enough to accommodate the numbers of patients without any difficulty. The also has difficulty with data entry into the patient's medical demographics system. The patients critical data such as age, address, social security numbers etc. are always entered wrong. This causes problems for the insurance carriers (patients are then held responsible for bills that would normally be paid by insurance). The staff refuses to acknowledge their errors and are rude (that, itself, is an understatement). When test result come back positive for serious illness, the staff never gets in touch with the patients. They may mail these critical results with a delay of 2 to 4 weeks. Most of the time - due to address issues (mentioned above) - you never receive the results. It is almost impossible to contact the Dr. directly. The good Dr., himself, is over-worked and his patients files are left strewn all over his office in piles which are falling over and sometimes block the entrance to his office. I am sincerely disappointed in the overall service and changed physicians.

During the first operation, he made sure to include the entire family on all of the updates (15+ people) and made sure to be very transparent during post-op. For the second procedure, he met with us prior to the operation to explain expectations and recovery. After the procedure was complete, he came to speak to our family on how the operation was and to make sure we were comfortable. He is overall amazing and I will recommend him and his team to all my family and friends.

I have the worst appointment of my life for this man. I've…read morehad better visit with the veterinarian and I wasn't even the patient. He has no bedside manner. To be truthful he has no manners! My examination was truly humiliating and I hope to God no woman ever suffers the type of indignity That I had the misfortune to experience. This arrogant jerk did not even bother to read my charts or the tests that I had taken a week earlier at Weill Cornell imaging. All he wanted to do was get home quickly because there was a freak snowstorm and I was his last patient. When I tried to describe my issue, and you don't go to a colorectal surgeon for a hangnail, He just blew me off and said " take down your pants! ". I was laying sideways on a hard examination table with my pants and tight around my knees. No gown. No sheet. No nothing! Needless to say I got out of there as quickly as possible and made an appointment with a different colorectal surgeon. Same hospital. Different doctor. Dr. Kelly Garrett. She was at least able to diagnose my problem and send me in the right direction.
