RUN, DO NOT WALK!!! I went to her for years. Hours wait with dozens of patients scheduled at the same time. She sees patients in an assembly line fashion in a rented obgyn office, spending less than 7 mins with each. My husband & I went in at the same time because she "likes to see couples together" even though I asked for us to have separate appointments. So less than 7 mins combined for both of us, with our insurance billed for (2) FULL appts. She DOES NOT listen and is distant on her phone the whole time. When I tried to ask her a serious question about my meds, she brushed me off, said I was drug seeking, and terminated our treatment. She is an insensitive, uncaring, unsympathetic, abhorrent psychiatrist. read more

I have been to this doctor for almost five years. Over the course of our time together, she demonstrated care and concern, but I always was being pushed a new medication to try, without being properly consulted on anything about the drug itself. Waiting time would regularly exceed 2 hours in the hot, small waiting room. The doctor ended up acting very erratically towards me during our last visit, screaming at me for accidentally booking my appointment on a wrong date. I would absolutely not recommend this doctor for anyone looking to effectively manage any mental health issues. She always wanted to push more pills down my throat instead of help find solutions. After five years of a seeming adequate patient/doctor relationship, she lost her mind and was incredibly unprofessional. Find a better doctor. read more

This is the first time I have ever written a yelp review so that speaks to how poor my experience was with this "doctor". With a 6:15 appointment I had to wait until 7:30 (along with 15 other people) to finally see her. Upon which, she asked what my name was 3 separate times. After I told her the issues I was having she shrugged them, then tried to leave the room as quickly as she could. This was my first, any my last, experience with her. I chose one star because you cannot choose less! UNPROFESSIONAL! My first visit I had to wait nearly 2 hours from my appointment time to be seen. I asked at reception if this was typical. I was told that she was "late coming out from the city". I accepted that. Once seen I left more confused than when I entered and she somehow conned me into an Rx for Lamictal - telling me that she had to get me stable before we could work on my attention/focus issue. I had no idea what she meant but figured she was a professional and I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Well... this Rx did way more harm than good. It actually exacerbated the problem with added clumsiness, vision and skin issues (severe cystic acne, sores inside mouth and lips). I feared this was the start of Stevens Johnston Syndrome so I stopped taking it. At my follow-up appointment I sat for over an hour in an overcrowded waiting room. Many patients started asking about others' appointment times and how long they had been waiting. My appt time was 7:45 PM. It was 9:00 PM and the woman across the room from me stated that her appt time was 7:00 PM and that there were still 4 people ahead of her. I went to reception to ask about the wait. There were at least 10 patients to be seen before me. You do the math... even if she only spent 5 minutes with each patient, I'd be there at least another hour! This was unacceptable, so I asked for my payment back. Well... the check was already in the possession of the doctor (who was seeing a patient) - so the receptionist had to interrupt. The doctor was not willing to just return my check so she left that patient in session to come out and ask why I wanted my check back. I told the doctor that she should be ashamed of herself for treating patients in such an unprofessional manner as to have them waiting several hours regularly (yes, this is true: the patients started discussing their tactics for the waiting... one lady signs in at the office and then goes to the diner for dinner and comes back - and still waits. Another brings knitting and plenty of reading material. Yet another signs in and goes shopping). I also said that as a mental health professional it was disrespectful to treat patients as though their time is worthless. I got my check back and left; never to return! If your looking for a pysch MD and need help this is not the place I'm a former patient. No bedside manner you will wait in the wait room for hours. I had the last appointment and still waited 2 hours after. This women is not professional she's money hungry and makes patients go every 2 weeks to get co-pays. The only word that comes to mind when I think of Dr. Flavia is evil. Pure Evil. Just like the other reviewer, she 'couldn't help me' either. But, she didn't know what was wrong or even try. She was assigned as the covering physician when my regular Dr. went out of town. I called the number provided by my Dr's office. She answered and I told her I was a patient of his and she began screaming at me to call another number. Literally screaming. The other number was an answering machine where I was to leave a message for her to get back to me. (Obviously, speaking / communicating with people is not her strong suit) After not hearing back from her - and this was an emergency that she could have helped with: refilling a script for a daily medication, not an emergency room emergency - I tried calling the number I had originally. She picked up and screamed in anger in a way I can only describe as reminiscent of the exorcist. She DID NOT want to speak to a human and she did not want to help me. I never got a call back. She is obviously a horrible Dr as well as a horrible human being. I'm not sure about it - but it also seems that if she was the official covering physician for my Dr. that she has an obligation to attempt to help me. If anyone reading knows - I'd like to report her. Don't Dr's have an obligation to try to help people under the oath they take also? I am not with my original Dr. anymore as he put me in such a bind when he was out of town and he obviously doesn't pick good covering physicians. read more

She is doesn't have the best bedside manner. But, she isn't uncaring either. I think any negative review might be overlooking that outcomes are pretty poor across the board. My rating is based on care which isn't patient centric and a lack of thoroughness. It isn't enough to just prescribe meds a psych nurse can do that for a lot less cost. People expect more from an MD. The product value here just isn't that strong. read more

I had to walk away from half of my appointments because she is chronically late - I mean REALLY late. One time there were 25 people on the sign in - I was on time - and she wasn't there yet. Another time I was among 15 patients waiting in a dingy hallway because she was late and door was locked to the grimy rented office. She is incredibly disrespectful of her patients, many of whom are very vulnerable. She is a pill pusher no better than a dealer on the corner, who is at least on time. She takes advantage of the paucity of psychiatrists in Riverhead. If you or I treated our job or customers like this we would be fired in a heartbeat. read more

I had a very thorough conversation with her receptionist about what kind of care I was looking for and all the receptionist kept telling me was that she was not a therapist. I figured that meant she was just a no muss no fuss doctor. After waiting for an hour and a half in the dirty disgusting waiting room with no receptionist, I finally got to see the doctor. After explaining my history to her she told me that she "couldn't help me" and attempted to call 911 to send me the emergency room. She was rude, cold, unprofessional and quite frankly, I'm not sure how she got her degree. Shame on you Dr Robotti- you are what's wrong either mental healthcare in this country. So, this was a waste of time. The reviews were all true about the wait time and her lack of concern. After she stared into her Iphone typing in my name, birthday, and relationship status, she wrote me an Rx without assessment or evaluation, and told me to come back next week. When I asked her about a diagnosis, she said "We'll get to that later." This seems preposterous because that's what a first-time appointment should entail. Her office is in an unmarked [for her practice] medical office basement. The receptionist didn't even take my ID, just my insurance card. Anyone could go with someone else's insurance and say they have ADHD or insomnia, and she would just hand over a script. If that's what you need, she's the one. I'm going to find a better doctor, stat. Don't waste your time. read more

I would have to agree with the other reviewer. Steer clear from this doc. She has no intention of listening to your opinion and won't help you if you disagree. Not once, but twice I was turned away because she "couldn't help me", basically because I did not agree with her on a few items. Very cold and un-inviting. She will kick you out of her office after about 7-10 minutes and have the nerve to charge you $350 dollars for it! The wait times are ridiculous in the tiny, dirty waiting room. read more

You know, she's not that bad. I've seen all of the negative reviews. She has many patients and is always willing to take on more. She opens up her weekends to accommodate the overflow of patients. Yes, you will wait when you go see her but bring something to do! Bring a book. Bring a Kindle. Bring some magazines! It goes by fast! She's not a bad person. She really does care. Dr. Robotti is a brilliant woman she speaks many languages and is an expert at pharmacology she is not a board certified psychiatrist with over 35 years of experience for nothing. She can just tell if you are having problems without you even saying a word. read more
