Much to my horror, I discovered that I had dry-wood termites in my custom cabinetry. I had never seen an actual termite BUT found their "dust" in several places. I immediately called many companies but the only only that actually answered their phone (not a call center) was Dr. Death. The big companies like Terminex and Orkin don't answer their inbound calls - it's a call center and nearly impossible to get a human on the line. I spoke with Alex who is one of the owners. He explained that they are a family owned business etc. He assured me he could take care of this. I was worried because I live in a condo on the 15th floor. In this case, they spot treat. Soooooo summer is coming and everyone is excited for summer fun but what comes with summer season is unwanted guests that leech on your pets and sometimes yourself!! I've used this company before in the past and I've always had wonderful service. So for the past couple of months I have been have been fighting with these unwanted guest (flees) for some time now and it got to a point where a professional was needed, I called them up again and they still were as sweet and kind as I remember. They informed me that they sent one of their reps to fix the issue and that's where we met Kevin, total sweetheart!! He was very thorough for sure and told us where to address the issue once everything was done. He definitely was easy to speak with and treated us like family. Surprised by some of these negative reviews. I've got nothing but good stuff to say for Dr. Death. I just recently purchased a new home that Dr. Death has been treating for the last 5 years. They were recommended to me by the seller who also had good stuff to say about the quality of their service and reliability. I recently had them tent my home and all went very smoothly. They also include a 1 year guarantee with the price of tenting. I've been watching bugs die all around the property for the last 24 hours. And look forward to enjoying my termite free home. I don't like to give negative reviews, but in this particular case, I feel I must. I called Dr. Death Pest Control Inc. on August 16, 2023 because I was experiencing a rodent problem. I spoke to Alex, I believe he is the owner. He was very understanding and seemed professional. He made sure he had someone at my house that same day. What his employee did to take care of the problem, I could have done myself by going to Home Depot and purchasing glue boards and purchasing poison to throw in the attic. This employee refused to help me move my stove as I asked for his help because I wanted to see if there was a hole behind it. Finally, he helped me and there it was, the hole where the rodent came from. When he left I went to Home Depot to purchase something to cover the hole. This company does not resolve the rodent problems. They just come out and put out glue boards/traps and throw poison in areas like the attic and place poison boxes where needed. This does not resolve the rodent problems. You need to fully inspect the house inside and outside and cover the areas where the rodents come into the house from. I was very unhappy with their services. I called and spoke to Alex and told him how I felt. He was no longer understanding or professional. He was very rude to me. For the type of services performed, it was not cheap. Save your money and do it yourself. Also, they do not come back to throw away the dead rodents, and I found out from my neighbors, with the same problem, that other companies do so and without a contract. I took care of the rodent problem myself by covering the hole. The glue boards that the employee placed on the kitchen counters were of no use. Also, with the help of a neighbor, we both inspected the entire inside of the house for holes. We moved the washer and dryer and looked in every room and closets. This is what a real inspection is! I also need to get my townhouse tented for termites along with my neighbors and before this happened I was considering referring them, but not any more. Again, Save your money....You can do it yourself!!! read more

Not only is their name incredible, but they had the service to match. Dr. Death was clear, timely, and cost effective. They showed up when they said they would (worth it's weight in gold here in Miami), and they performed their services carefully and with respect to my property. Just discovered something new about Yelp.. you cannot give a zero star review. My wife and I employed Dr. Death for several years and its been fine until the last few months. Not sure exactly what happened, but the work and communication went downhill. It all started when we started seeing a new employee every time we had a treatment. Generally, not a good sign and an indication that something is going wrong. The real issue arose when we needed a re-treatment for termites. We payed for termite spot treatment with a 1 year guarantee. Then, around swarming season, we started seeing droppings, wings and actual termites flying around. We called Dr. Death, spoke with both David and Alex, who are rather unprofessional and rude, and they told us they could not send someone out to treat our home for SEVERAL WEEKS. Unhappy, but understanding the time struggles, especially during the swarming season, we set a date and waited. Then we were postponed another week... and another week.. and another week. Until today (almost two months after our initial call), when I was promised a re-treatment. I was told that someone would arrive after 2:00pm. Fine, I waited... and waited... and waited. Until 5:00, when I asked what was going on. The response I received, "going to be a couple hours". Seriously?? a couple hours? Its 5:00pm on Friday. Here's what you need to know: this company does not honor is guarantees, has horrendous customer service, and apparently uses chemicals that do not work well. Save yourself the trouble and the money and hire someone else for your pest control and termite treatments. Dr. Death is just no good. read more
